Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Today Mira awoke feeling antsy and starving, her stomach churning and scratching at her in its apparent hunger. She needed food and part of her wanted to simply ignore that urgency and lazily go back to bed. Something didn't feel quite right, an uproar that she couldn't quite place, as though her mind rattled with blatant sensory warning signals. The apartment that Tetradore left her in to heal in was quite cosy and safe, small imperfections in the wood floors and cracks in the walls only made it have character as set her at ease. She felt rather comfortable here and that notion surprised her, but today was different, felt different. Now that her ankle was fully healed she could finally walk around without it hurting like of son of a bitch, it healed well except for the silvery band that formed like an anklet. It was about damn time. The woman in wolf form yawned and stretched a most delicious sensation as her spine cracked, settling everything within its rightful place. Damn, it felt so good. Reluctantly, she carefully slipped out of her little haven, before leapt off the bed with a soft thud her nails clicking against the oak floor.

That itching jittery feeling left Mira with the decision to go for a walk and perhaps grab something to eat while she explored some nearby shops. Perhaps being all cooped up had finally gotten the best of her and she was at long last succumbing to that stir crazy sensation. Despite retrieving her backpack from the deep dark forest she didn't venture too far. It was a strange feeling not having anywhere to go, to simply allow herself the time she needed to heal. Those days spent in this quiet apartment made the woman feel nothing but spoiled, catching up on all those lost z's. She shook abruptly, fluffing up her thick ebon-hued fur gave way to silken caramel toned skin as if the shift alone would change her antsy demeanour.

She took a quick shower, spruced herself up, got changed into that comfortable attire Tetradore had kindly purchased for her and set out into the great outdoors. Sounds felt sharper, the sun felt almost too irritating on her flesh and stranger's prying eyes felt like the fell upon her, as though it burned her skin. She shook her head slightly from left to right before darting into the first café she saw serving breakfast. The mighty ebony creature within her groaned, the sound echoing in her mind and it resonated forcefully throughout her body. The wolf's displeasure in this hunger was all too transparent. Drawing forth a steadying breath in a meagre attempt to sooth the beast, she ordered an egg sandwich to go and then she was out the door on the move again. The wolf preferred this at this current moment all that continuous movement when she felt antsy. The woman shoved her face with the sandwich while she walked, at least sating that hunger which rumbled within the depths of her stomach, barely.

Once she was done, she tossed that wrapper haphazardly into a random nearby waste bin before she slipped into a small grocery store. She picked up a few essentials items like some meat, eggs and milk, feeling bad that she was freeloading off the werepanthers kindness. The rich mahogany hair fluttered about her in long loose tousled waves as she moved with such swiftness. Golden eyes scan her surroundings, finding nothing out of the ordinary, that odd sensation of something being out of place still lingered as though it cruelly taunted that woman. An exasperated sigh fell from her lips, at odds with herself momentarily.

At least, she was able to walk freely without the hindrance of that deep excruciating wound, one of the perks of being that wild creature that dwelled so close to her surface. She was almost at the point where she could simply vanish without a trace, not of course without thanking Tetradore. The woman did not wish to overstay her welcome in a place that wasn't her own. Surely, he or someone must be missing that apartment she resided in. In all actuality, she wondered if he had forgotten all about the wolf altogether.

It didn't take long for the woman to return to that dwelling, almost all too relieved to be back and out of sight. Safe. What was wrong with her today? She nearly climbed those steps two at a time, her hand clinging on to that paper bag which held her few random items. Once she reached the door of that apartment she froze. Something didn't seem right. Her acute predatory hearing kicked on in high gear. Someone was inside. The scent of the man inside had all but slipped away in the gentle caress of a zephyr. Her mind whirled with possibilities and probabilities.

Very quietly she opens that thick oak door, careful to make little sound as she slipped through the door, closing it behind her. It was no doubt that someone was there, in the confines of the apartment. She didn't dare breathe a sound, kicking off her shoes so that she padded soundlessly across the floor.

Her eyes take on an eerie wolfish glow, that golden colour flashing alight, as though a human didn't peer out of those eyes. The wolf inside her growled, an intruder was here. She drew in a deep breath drawing intermingled scents toward her that danced upon the air, finding less ominous smells, cookies and Tetradore? She peered around not finding him anywhere, save for the sight of that massive structure on the bed. Oh dear god, he must have seen her den. The flash of what seems so uncharacteristic to that she-wolf, embarrassment, it flashed across her features, fading as curiosity takes its place. Was Tetradore inside that pillow fort? She tipped her head curiously to the side. "Ai-.. er Tetradore, you scared the shit out of me." Her voice calls out over her shoulder, putting the items in the fridge. There was no sound from the man within that impressive fortress made of pillows from the couch, blankets, and whatever furniture that could be found. Despite that embarrassment she had felt, she was impressed by that precarious yet somehow solid construction of that structure. How long had he been here?

She pours two glasses of refreshing cold milk. Hey, if those were truly cookies she smelt than a tall order of milk was needed. She moved toward the bed, bending to peer inside that opening where she found a full grown man curled up nibbling on scrumptious cookies. Mira could not fight that unbidden grin that formed upon her lips, her gaze flashing childish amusement. That was until she saw that unpleasant look, akin to a scowl upon the man's face. A common expression from what she could tell, but that far off look did not match the panther king she met a week ago. Something was obviously wrong. Silently, she reached into the opening of that fort with her offering, that tempting glass of milk so he could dip those tasty cookies in if he so desired. Concern replaced that childish gleam. "What's wrong?" She asked softly. She could sense the moodiness flooding the walls of this makeshift castle where she once slept. Did someone die?
