Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

they said fight fire with fire but i just got ash

He could hardly help the fashion his own eyes rolled at that finger that pressed to his nose, his features scrunching slightly in response before those almost coy words were offered. As if Serafina truly believed she might one day employ a bloody potato sack as an outfit. The man hardly putting it past her if she might have the opportunity to prove a point with it. They were, perhaps, almost equally competitive- especially when it came to one another. Azrael long having given up attempting to analyse their relationship in any sense. It simply worked. How or why it did he hardly knew. It just did. The pair content to argue almost teasingly over all manner of petty things like what was for dinner or the colour of doors or how tea was better made or whether or not the weather man was actually good at his job or what year man landed on the moon. Serafina had been right about the last one and yet Azrael staunchly refuses to admit it all the same, the Hunter having simply come to enjoy her company in every sense of the word. The pair never fighting in any real sense. In fact, with those months he'd spent at the woman's side he'd almost come to realise that she tended to view life with very near the same sarcasm he did. It was refreshing really, to find a woman who enjoyed being annoyed at the same things as himself, ridiculous as it surely sounded. The golden-eyed man content to find her often scathing words entirely alluring. He'd almost come to enjoy those tales she brought home from her store on such and such a customer that had annoyed her that day. God how he hated people sometimes- all of the time really.

It was only once he'd finished his re-made cup of coffee and Sera and finished dressing that he led the way down to that favoured car, the door swung easily open for his girlfriend before he moved around to that driver's seat. That car roared effortlessly to life beneath his touch, Azrael pulling smoothly away from that curb before reaching for those sunglasses and slipping them into place. His gaze glanced briefly away from the road and to the woman beside him. The Hunter content to mention that his missing car had finally been located and that if that garage footage was anything to go by it had been pilfered by some sort of fucking vampire and what appeared to be a rather large cat. Serafina's repeat of just that laced with a clear dubiousness as his own features frowned slightly, the man aware of how ridiculous it sounded before his shoulders lifted upward in shrug.

"Believe me, I'll show you the footage later. One of them is definitely a vampire, he has no heat signature. Where he got a bloody cat though I don't know. Vampires just seem to like cats, it's a thing with them. There used to be a vampire bar in the city a few years ago, the owner kept big cats. Leopards, panthers- that sort of thing. You wouldn't believe how many calls we kept getting about that place with people wanting us to free the animals. Christ, no one cared about the humans that went missing near it but heaven forbid we don't release big cats onto the city streets. I'm pretty sure they were Were's anyway."

His shoulders shrugged once more. That bar had burnt down years ago now. He still remembered the night, his lip quirking slightly at the memory. Those fleeing vampires had made dramatically easy targets for himself. He'd almost lost count of how many he'd taken that night. Azrael casting those thoughts aside for now all the same. Serafina's assurance that at least he'd gotten the car back in the end was met with that simple nod. That was true he supposed and yet he was hardly finished with attempting to find out just who that vampire had been that had the audacity to steal his car to begin with. Let alone who or what his accomplice was. That car shifted from the highway then and onto that long, winding dirt road. That home entirely more secluded then most and yet Jack had always been paranoid. More so then the usual Hunter. Azrael almost entirely sure that was the reason the Council had finally let him go. His delusional conspiracy theories having gotten far too out of hand to the point they posed a risk to the organisation itself. Azrael still largely convinced the man was harmless, if not a little delusional, still, even he had hardly argued against the fellows forced retirement.

He swung easily from the car then, opening Serafina's door before leading the way up to that house, his attention turned to those shoes beside the door as he begun that hunt for the spare key the man had always kept there and had promised him would be there today. That groan falling from his lips a moment later. Fucking brilliant. Would it be too much to ask that things were where they were supposed to be?! His golden gaze flickered briefly to that door, Azrael truly considering whether or not just kicking it down would be the simplest thing to do and yet, Jack would undoubtedly be rather displeased about that. His attention shifting to the house itself then before falling onto that singular odd shaped window. It was doable if nothing else and yet he was hardly going to fit through a window that size. His gaze falling almost contemplatively upon Sera then. That idea rising to his lips. His girlfriend affording him the very sort of look he anticipated as his own arms folded across his chest, the man leaning casually against that veranda pole before assuring the woman that very window was designed to keep her species out. As if attempting to almost goad her into that metaphorical break and enter. After all, he did have permission to go inside the house. They merely weren't going to use the front door, which, realistically, was entirely Jack's fault to begin with. Bloody moron.

The very idea that such a window was designed to keep her out seemed to be enough to prompt the woman into at least trying, that muttered assurance people were stupid bringing that chuckle to his own lips before that almost exasperated agreement fell from her lips, her purse all but thrust into his arms then as she stormed towards the corner of the house with the demand to help her up. Azrael making some attempt all the same to prevent that amusement from showing on his features as he followed behind. Her purse was tucked easily under one arm, his hands moving to lightly grip her waist and hoist her upward towards the edge of the roof to allow her to grab onto it.

"No, he used too. That was years ago though, it was old back then. I'm sure it's dead by now. Besides, it was only a Pomeranian."

Yappy though the little dogs were Azrael was almost entirely certain the stupid little things could be stepped over. The Hunter remaining beneath that roof for a few moments still, entirely ready to catch the woman should she fall. His gaze watching as she made her way to that bizarre, lopsided window.

"It should open up to the hallway, once you're in there just follow the hall into the kitchen and then to the front door. I'll be right outside, shout if you need me. If the house is anything like it was the last time I was here it'll be a damn mess. Try not to knock anything over, he'll know. Ignore anything you see on the walls too, he's into that end of the world crap- he thinks he's got the whole fucking universe mapped out. It's a load of shit so don't pay it any attention."

He paused once more then, watching the woman now, the man hardly expecting any issue with her simply climbing through a window and opening a door and yet he was ready all the same. An almost...nervous flutter dancing briefly in his chest. The sort he hadn't felt in years. That emotion taking him by surprise. He was worried about that woman, foolish as it was, the man hardly anticipating anything to happen to her with such a simple task and yet the idea of her injuring herself so had a habit of setting him on edge quite unlike anything else.
