Sacrosanct contains four distinct neighborhoods, each with their own specific kind of houses and residents. Explore our districts, view lists of our citizens and enjoy our block parties!
Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
There was so much that she wanted to know about him, the handsome fae man that now walks along the carefully made stone path that led them through the winter wonderland that brought to the surface that almost childish delight. Baby blue eyes dance excitedly across the freshly fallen powder as they begin in gentle silence and she can already feel an eagerness rising in her to go and play in it. One could never be too old for such easy and careless things, right? Again she can hear those sweetly spoken words from Ida and she remembers how she had told him he was High Lord. As her gaze moves away from the winter wonderland that so called to her, beckoned her to run into its glittering white embrace beneath the bright sun that hung in a clear and crisp sky, they find his face and she wonders of him. She wonders of the past that he carried and had never really even whispered faintly of in the occasions where they'd been together. She wonders what it meant for him, to him, wielding such a status of sure power and authority that likely haf been the common ground on how he and the kind fae man she called her friend knew one another, the surprise from that afternoon tea party still following her even as they strolled leisurely along. It was almost strange to think how a city as big as Sacrosanct could have seemed so small in that one moment when she'd discovered that they were also friends. And to think that Dorian himself was also fae, something she hadn't noticed at first when they'd walked together through Hyde Park when she'd been practically brand new to the concrete jungle, it only further fascinated her. Was it possible that she would be so drawn to the fae folk, or was it pure coincidence that they two increasingly important people in her life were of the same race and so very far from her own? she wonders now of Killian, the friendly Irishman she'd met within the walls of Inner Sanctum, if he were something of than human. What were the odds that she wouldn't have yet to come across another human, though? Unlikely, she was sure. Miyako hadn't had the same delicately pointed ears that Andras and Dorian did so she could at least say that not everyone she's met so far in her relatively short time within Sacrosant wasn't fae.
She walks happily, excitedly beside Andras with her hand gently placed on his arm and for a moment she allows for herself to imagine that there would be more days like this, strolling contentedly beside the dark fae man that her heart always seemed to flutter in her breast when he might cast a smile her way with hazel eyes illuminated by amusement that he seemed to readily find in the blue-eyed blonde. She knew there was more that rested within the depths of his gaze and yet it all remained just out of reach from her, only further encouraging her curiosity of what thought flickered across his mind, if there were unseen emotions swirling beneath those teasing words and rich notes of laughter. He was a mystery that she wanted to explore, a soul that seemed to call out to her own - in ways that she was determined to keep away from her current thoughts lest she suddenly feel those silly butterflies again - and drew her more to him. She allows for her slender frame to press lightly into his own side as though to ward off the crisp winter atmosphere when in truth she simply enjoyed being close to him. Baby blues watch his chiseled features and she sees a side of him that she hadn't before that causes her own gaze to soften fondly. There was an easiness, a sort of peace that seemed to settle itself over his strong frame. It was in the way that he walked, almost seeming to enjoy this stroll just as much as the young woman, and it was in the gentleness that she was certain she was able to see in him now that somehow had gone unseen aside for that moment behind the closed door of her apartment that night when Chika had taken on an almost feral reaction Beylani hadn't ever thought in a million years to be capable of. Here, wherever it was that they were, he seemed so different - a good kind of different. Here, he seemed less guarded, like he could breathe here in some way that he couldn't in Sacrosanct. It only warmed Beylani's heart and soul even more as she regarded him softly, made those feelings that only seemed to grow even harder to defy.
He answers her many questions that just seemed to burst so suddenly from the young woman with a quiet chuckle before velvet tenor tones fall effortlessly into the cold air around them as amusement fills those hazels that meet eager and ever curious baby blues that do not waver from those darker depths. He is the one that breaks that union when he begins to reveal the details of where it was that he'd brought them, only turning back to look back to those glittering eyes that begin to widen in awe as they continue down that beautiful made pathway as it weaved along through the snow and around the gentle slopes that surrounded them, accented by tall evergreens dressed in sparkling ivory. She'd guessed that they were nowhere near the big city, but an entirely different world?! The fae man saves her from asking a dozen other questions about this revelation as he carries on, explaining the magic that he had at his figurative yet very much real fingertips, tells her that it had once been barren and empty which she would never have believed in any other circumstances as the light melodies of winter songbirds filled the boughs of the many evergreens they moved through, finding that while his answer satisfied her question, it opened the door for so many more. He had made this world? Everything that surrounded them, it had all been nothing until he'd come across it?"So you can come here whenever you want, and bring others with you? You don't have to be in a certain place at a certain time of day? How long did it take for you to create all of this? I know you said a long time, but what exactly does that mean?", she encourages as he shares with her this magic that he wielded. Slowly, she was beginning to understand that while she was already amazed at how strong he was simply as he was before last night and before this very moment as they reveled in the beauty of this world an unknown distance away from the only one she'd ever known or bee told existed, he was truly so much stronger than she could have ever imagined or fantasized of. It made her feel even that much more delicate, like a morning glory braving the early morning frost of winter.
As the pathway leads them onward to some distant destination, the blue-eyed blonde glad that she were fit enough not to be winded as they maintained their calm page forward without pause, he moves on to her next query and baby blue remain anchored to hazel as he confirms when she'd originally assumed - minus the whole being in a completely different world factor, of course. Only for a moment as those smoothly spoken words fall into the air does she dared to tear her gaze from his to caress the landscape around them. There were no telephone poles, no electricity wires, none of those things that only added a definite resolve to the precious suspicions that if her parents had tried reaching out to her there would have been more chance that a message would appear on the phone she'd been happy to leave on that nightstand in the dark fae man's room. Yet when he carries on, speaking of how he could likely create something so that she might have a means to reach her own world, her heart skips in her chest and those baby blues are surprised yet soft as they look back up to Andras."You would do something like that for me?", she asks almost in disbelief and for a fleeting moment she dared to wonder... but before those thoughts even have a chance to begin churning within her mind, she pushes them away. Of course it wouldn't be just for me. He might simply think the idea is worth considering. Why would he do something like that just for her? It'd prove to be beneficial most likely for him more than anything else for whatever line of work he had, which she would need to ask him about sooner or later. She smiles sweetly up to him now, moving to rest her other hand on his strong forearm for reasons that she wasn't even entirely sure of, but it felt right somehow."Honestly, I'm just happy to be here in the snow. I've always wanted snow for my birthday since it doesn't really snow in Willowhaven until late January, and even if my birthday is a few days away, I'll consider this an early birthday present", she replies, her sterling voice growing gentler at her last string of words. Last night entirely aside and almost completely forgotten for now, there wasn't anywhere else she would want to be.
For a few fleeting moments, they walk in calm silence and she finds her gaze wandering eagerly back to the snow that still tantalize her. She looks to the trail ahead and wonders exactly where it was that it would lead them. Surely Andras knew, and yet he had yet to say anything about where they might be headed. The silence is broken and her baby blues are drawn back up to those feelings hazels as teasing words echo softly around them as it bounces off the bark of the trees around them, accompanied by familiar wink and she can feel that boldness rising to the surface again as she grins brightly up to him, a gentle note of laughter tumbling past blush-colored lips."I figured that you would only want a handful at a time, though if you feel like you could handle all my questions without becoming overwhelmed, I'd be happy to oblige you", she answers him a most impishly. The effortlessness of being with the dark fae man despite that title she had yet to bring up to him and all the other things that had happened over the last twenty-four hours between them was something that was quickly becoming to feel so natural, when those newfound feelings weren't getting in the way that is. She finds herself hoping that their walk doesn't end anytime soon even though she was equally curious to see what else this world of his had to offer and as they begin to climb a small hill, she can see something new dancing through the hazels that turn to her only to look at something ahead of them. What was he up to? It is when they reach the top that he gives her perhaps the biggest smile she'd seem upon those usually cool and collected features as he bring them to a stop there atop that gentle slope and sweeps his arm out to the snow-covered valley below. A soft gasp escapes Beylani as she follows his gesture only to see a small town below them, her gaze alight with pure wonder. She sees people, fae folk, stirring through those cobblestone streets, hears the delighted laughter of children somewhere in the distance as they ran and played. It was like something out of a fairytale almost and yet here it was sprawled out in the distance.
Baby blues turn back to Andras as he murmurs softly to the young woman and she can see the quiet excitement in his hazel eyes, detecting a pride in his silken words and when he welcomes her to his home, ushering its name with a fondness she could hear anywhere when anther spoke of their home, Beylani smiles gently back up to him before looking back to the small town."It looks so peaceful, like something out of a book.... It's absolutely beautiful", she says breathlessly, pausing for a moment as she smiles up to the fae man who so captivated her in so many ways than he knew."Thank you for sharing this with me, Andras...", she murmurs, her words full of that fondness that danced in her baby blue gaze. If only he knew how much it meant to her, his willingness to share with her his world, his home with her. She feels that familiar warmth washing over her heart now, turning to look back almost affectionately for the little town below them. Then, she sees a few fae children on the outskirts as they run about chasing one another, some throwing snowballs at their companions who skillfully dodged them. It was this beautiful scene of pure and carefree peacefulness that rested over Civitas Somnia which awakens the same carefree feeling in Beylani and she releases her hold of his arm to walk off the path and into the snow as if to get a better look at those bright and happy children. She bends over, running slender fingers through the snow and gathers enough to fill her hands. Packing it softly together, she looks over her shoulder back to Andras with a playful smile dancing across her lips as the boldness in her breaks free and she turns to throw the snowball at the dark fae man, hitting him on that chiseled chest of his. She is unable to contain that bright and happy laugher that spills from her, baby blue eyes glittering like the snow around them as she waits to see if he might just muse her in a little game of their own. In all this beauty and wonderment, it was impossible for Beylani to not find those careless gestures and giggles of the children below contagious.
