Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Dorian AragonaHis Royal Majesty, The King of Italy
Dorian had not, until that particular moment, so considered the decidedly difficult task it might surely be to present his near centuries old Father with any sort of meaningful gift. After all, As Sebastian so suggested, it was highly likely the man had everything he both needed and desired by this point. The Monarch's features shifted then into a contemplative look of just that very suggestion and yet the idea of inviting Alexander and perhaps organising some sort of cake was surely doable in the very least. Dorian's head nodded in a clear agreement. Perhaps they themselves could see about creating that cake- if only to make it somewhat more of a special occasion and yet, neither Sebastian nor he were particularly skilled in the kitchen. Dorian so placing such a thought within the back of his mind to revisit later and perhaps suggest to his fiancé all the same before leading the way to that lavish home that, in some aspects, nearly reminded him of their own. How nice it must be not to have ones front lawn and driveway near eternally covered in the Press. Dorian commenting softly upon his eagerness to see Troy once more and meet the woman he had spoken so fondly off. Sebastian assurance that she had seemed perfectly nice only further delighting him as that doorbell was rung. The pair ushered inside a moment later.
Amelia was the first to greet them in near the same moment as they strode into that parlour. The woman's figure clearly displaying that pregnancy even beneath that glorious evening gown. How unbelievable it was! The very notion of a pregnant vampire was one thing entirely and yet to see such a thing with one's own eyes was nothing short of striking. Dorian wholly inclined to remember that look of disbelief on Sebastian's own face that evening the Monarch had told him of that news Troy had shared. Dorian so working to assure such a look did not find his own features now if only for politeness sake. Several hundred years within the royal courts assuring no more then that entirely pleasant smile existed and yet how curious he was! How many questions he surely had! Amelia herself looking positively radiant as so many women did when they found themselves with child. Dorian affording her that greeting then, the Fae quite genuinely pleased to meet her before softly waving away her apology. Amelia turning to that bar as Troy arrived. His hand reached easily for Troy's own, embracing the other man warmly. Dorian having come to genuinely like the other Fae in every sense of the word, before stepping to the side to allow Sebastian those introductions in turn. That soft simper touching his lips at Troy's assurance he had heard a great deal about Sebastian. Dorian hardly unashamed of the manner in which he spoke so happily of his Consort to others and when given the chance. Sebastian's near teasing words prompting that playful roll of his eyes.
"They were exceptional things."
That grin found his features once more with that ready promise. His attention shifted again to Amelia, congratulating the woman on that pregnancy. His own affinity so silently reaching out in that moment to embrace her. The Monarch simply curious of just what his gifts might display. After all, in all the history of the world he had never once heard of a vampire capable of this sort of life. Dorian wholly curious as to whether it was Troy- or Amelia herself- whom carried that similar affinity for life in a sense, one powerful enough to allow a pregnancy to exist and yet he had so hardly anticipated that which he saw. How potently and bright that light of life shown from Troy and himself. Fae, he had learned, seemed to shine unusually bright even amongst humans. Dorian long having suspected that natural immortality of their race so afforded them that unearthly glow and too, so seemed to assure their appeal to vampire kind. That life that surrounded Sebastian and Amelia however was decidedly dull, near non-existent, life only ever present in those vampires in the moments after they had fed. What remained of Sebastian and Amelia's last meals of blood allowing them that subtle glow and yet.....that child was the same. No life radiated from that unborn infant as it did Troy or himself, as Dorian had so expected it would. That child held the very same measure of life....as Sebastian and Amelia. The simple impossibility of that readily seeing Dorian hesitate. The normally faultless King so impossibly stumbling over his words in a manner he had quite never done. Their child was a vampire. Somehow. Impossibly. Dorian sure of it. That simple shock dancing so briefly upon his features before the Monarch hurriedly attempted to correct himself. Dorian oblivious to the manner in which both Sebastian and Troy had so noticed that slip in his demeanour. The Fae hurriedly inquiring after that due date as he took that offered wine. The Monarch taking a rather uncharacteristically large sip. Amelia assuring him she was no more than five or so months along- that pregnancy unnaturally fast. Dorian so hardly surprised given that which he now knew! How on earth was such a thing possible?
"Oh my, that is terribly fast. I am told technologies have advanced a very great deal since my time and that physicians can tell a great many things with their computers. Do you know what you are having? Have you chosen any names?"
That question was so deliberately worded as just that, Dorian wholly curious in that moment as to whether the couple held any notion of just what species their child was. The Monarch entirely expectant that they might answer him with gender alone and yet, if they were unaware, Dorian was perhaps near.....unwilling to afford them that knowledge if only for the very stress such an idea might bring about! Heavens but what to do! Dorian taking another sip of that wine in some effort to further recover himself while Amelia and Sebastian exchanged those pleasantries. Dorian making every effort to be that gracious guest he normally was.
"Sebastian and I adopted quite recently ourselves."
That look of surprise on Troy's face was perhaps entirely worth such a sentence. Dorian chuckling softly then before procuring that phone from his pocket, handing it to Troy and Amelia in that moment to allow them to view that picture of Maxwell that adorned the screen. That Rottweiler puppy pictured within Sebastian's arms- that bowtie attached to his collar as always.
"He is a bit bigger then that now though, isn't he Bastian?"
Dorian so turned back towards his lover then, such a moment used entirely to meet the vampires gaze before the Fae King so allowed his power to reach for his Consort. That life becoming clear to Sebastian alone in that moment. Allowing the Englishman to see just what he had seen and to make that connection of the curiosity that was Amelia and Troy's child and his own shared species. His attention returned to that hosting couple then.
"Dinner smells quite divine."
