What You'll Find Here

Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

The hands of his watch flicking over to ten pm momentarily saw the blonde man frown, his jeans and hoody-clad form leaning back against the lamp post and across the street from the house he had been watching for well over an hour now. He hardly knew why he was here, much less why he was still standing outside in the snow, breath rising like smoke within the air as he shifted upon that frosted surface, shoulders hunching against the chill as he berated himself once more for the fact he was even here. It was fucking ridiculous. What one insignificant little witch thought of him should hardly matter and yet despite the hours and days in which he had struggled to convince himself of this very fact he had succeed only in further darkening his own mood until he had simply been unable to stand it any longer. It was his inability to wrench the raven haired woman from his mind that had resulted in his appearance outside her townhouse on this particularly frosted Christmas eve and yet it was the outside of her home that seemed to be the limit of his willingness in this regard, the often irritable man having resigned himself to simply standing outside it, his resolve having waivered within her proximity.

He had tried distracting himself, distancing himself even attempting, despite his serious lack of better judgement, to spend time in the company of Davante in some effort to rid his mind of any desire to look upon that blue-eyed woman once more and yet truly all such efforts had seemed to achieve were the knowledge that the warlock was by far one of the most disagreeable people he had ever met, even if he had a slightly amusing sense of humour and that any efforts to eradicate Serafina from his mind resulted in sleepless nights and images of her form nestled within the dress she had donned at the party- thoughts far too inappropriate to exist within his mind on any level. Everything about it was wrong- so why did she continue to haunt him so? Why could he simply not push her away as he has done any other women whom had ever sought to get beneath his skin?

He managed a sigh of sorts, fingers pinching at the bridge of his nose in some effort to silence the internal monologue of his mind that continued to inform him of the ridiculousness of his own choices, scolding his own lack of control in this regard and yet- for years he had simply accepted the loss of some....part of himself, assured that whatever ability he possessed in regards to anything even remotely emotional had died right along with Evelyn- plunging the man into the forever irritable state of moodiness he seemed forever swathed beneath. It had been easier, that was all, easier to reject, ignore or push away ever single being, man or women, whom had attempted any sort of friendship with him since. They only ever died- he was merely sparing himself the pain he had felt upon Evelyn's loss, that very all-consuming pain so potent and raw he had almost believed he simply would never feel again and yet for all his pushing and wholly negative behaviour towards her, Serafina had continued to stay, almost as if she took some sort of pleasure in opposing him, her lack of fear having earned the woman some fleeting modicum of respect, just as the memory of even that faint touch of her skin he had allowed himself continued to linger within his thoughts. It would be easier, he is sure, if he merely got this over with.

The man moves to lean forward abruptly, striding across the snow and towards the house he knows she lives within, the presence of at least one light within the window assuring the blonde she is at least at home, the irritating sound of Christmas carols coming from the home next door setting his teeth on edge. He had long since given up celebrating a holiday that had long since lost any and all meaning for him. It was just another day, one that seemed entirely fucking spiteful enough to remind him with every commercial, newspaper, decorated tree and risen store prices on even the most basic of items that he was entirely alone. The sound of the overly cheery songs saw little more then a frown mar his features, the man regretting his choice to leave his weapons at home tonight, if only for the fact he is almost entirely sure the stereo could be shot from this distance. The thought is reluctantly pushed from his mind as he reaches forward to rap his bruised knuckles against the door, a recent argument with a vampire having resulted in more than one bruise upon him as arms fold across the loose white cotton hoody he has donned for the evening, the rarely seen article of clothing used only on the rare occasion he is not working- waiting patiently for the woman to open the door.

It had been an oversight perhaps that he had not anticipated the women to be within her pyjamas and yet given the lateness of the hour it is merely another point for which to chastise himself, gaze lingering upon her slender form for perhaps a moment longer then is entirely necessary before those golden amber eyes lift to meet the blue of her own no doubt surprised features. Just as almost every other time he has been given to rest his eyes upon her, that same moment of speechlessness seems to grasp him, the man merely seeming to stare in silence before words finally seem to catch within his throat.

"Look I...apologise for the inappropriateness of the hour and for interrupting your evening."

It was, after all, highly unusual to visit a woman he held no true relationship with after dark- or at least, this had once been the accepted standard of custom- that the world may well have moved on from such a thing remained to be seen, some parts of Azrael as entirely as old fashioned as the era he had been born into. He paused only briefly to glance behind her and into her home, the starkly empty house both surprising and yet pleasing to the blonde all the same- then again, perhaps witches simply did not celebrate such a holiday either. He had never bothered to ask one.

"Despite the fact I have tried for several days to ignore it I find I have something to give you, though I assure you it has nothing to do with this overzealously happy holiday."

His ever impenetrable armour of apathy, it would seem, remained entirely immune to Christmas cheer, a slight frown marring his features once more before one hand lifted to run through the white gold of his hair, flakes of the softly falling snow above tangling within those blonde tresses.

"I'm sorry about the party, alright? I apologize for my use of weapons during our dance though I do not apologise for shooting at your pet, it is my job and it always will be, you need to control her better. I also apologize for having failed to actually compliment you on the dress you wore that evening, you looked exceptional in it, in fact I couldn't take my fucking eyes off you which brings me to the fact you are by far one of the most frustrating women I have ever encountered!"

He is incapable, it would seem, of speaking to the woman without telling her off in some fashion, his ever changing moods no doubt giving the poor woman whip-lash before he moved to shift forward ever so slightly, golden eyes continuing to rest against her own, voice lowering slightly now.

"I am also not sorry about the snow in your hair."

That she didn't have any snow in her hair, at least for the moment, remained to be seen, lip quirking ever so slightly in perhaps the barest moment of...defeat as one hand reached so suddenly forward to capture her own, pulling her so effortlessly from inside and onto the front step of her home and into the snow, his free hand moving to ever so easily tilt her face upward, bringing his lips down softly to her own in a feather-light and stolen kiss.....
