Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
every king had a story, of ancient glory, sweetly told
It was silly really, that simple pleasure Dorian so took from gifting his lover with anything. A part of the Monarch assured Sebastian deserved anything and everything he could ever give him even if he knew distinctly the vampire himself would argue that point thoroughly. It was a difficult thing to restrain himself to one simple, small gift out of respect for Sebastian's own wishes and yet too- the Fae had readily relished that challenge of finding the man he intended to marry a gift that would mean just as much as something more opulent in nature. Dorian having placed a considerable amount of thought into those little cards and other stationary with the simple realisation that Sebastian could surely make use of them all the same. After all, the Englishman did spend a distinct amount of time at his desk so penning those letters of thanks. Surely this might somehow lessen that burden. Even if it only shortened those letters by a mere few words. Dorian having left just enough lines on those cards to allow Sebastian to write something small without getting terribly carried away as the Victorian-aged man tended to do on some occasions. With those engagement presents that continued to flood in each week from other dignitaries and the public at large Sebastian was sure to be through occupied for some months yet. The man content to refuse to allow any of Dorians own staff to send out those more generic pre-written letters that simple required a signature. Dorian finding his lovers stubbornness on this singular fact rather amusing in a fashion. That age-old etiquette refusing to budge and yet it was that very charm that had so appealed to him from the beginning.
That simple assurance that Sebastian quite adored that gift had a way of stealing that grin to his own. Dorian so hardly anticipating the way in which the vampire plucked a singular coloured card from the pile only to lean toward his bedside draw and pluck a pen from within. Dorian rolled easily from his stomach then to sit himself upward with the clear intent of peering over his lovers shoulder to see just what the man was writing- only to find his view purposely obscured. The Monarch leaning back against those pillows in clear defeat and yet that ever-present curiosity continued to tug persistently at him until Sebastian at last placed that pen aside and proceeded to hand that folded card to him. Dorian's assurance that such a note was hardly required was near paused mid-sentence as his gaze fell upon that perfectly silly little poem, his eyes rolling in that wholly playful gesture before that chuckle rose within his throat. Dorian content to offer that near mock-praise for that hastily scripted verse. Why Sebastian had ever gone into mining or law when he held such talent as a poet he might never know. Dorian shifting to eye his lover then before placing the little card on his own table and promptly announcing he could hardly deny the truth of that card before that simple suggestion to test that theory further so fell from his lips near in time with that ever impish grin that so surely afforded his lover some knowledge of what was to come.
It was a terribly easy thing to slip from that bed then. Dorian allowing that sheet to fall away from his bare figure to expose those lines of his back and behind, his head turned over his shoulder to meet his lovers gaze with that simple assertion that his poem had surely been correct. Even with that front to still be examined. His own hand lifted then, as if to examine his own body in some manner. His fingers ran over the hard plains of his chest and stomach as he turned, allowing his hand to rove dangerously lower and towards those more intimate parts of his physique that were entirely content to respond to that singular look on Sebastian's face in turn. How he adored to hold his lovers attention in such a way! The simple feel of his lovers eyes upon him decidedly satisfying and yet that impish grin remained all the same as that invisibility took hold of him in those most pivotal moments. Hiding those decidedly indecent things from the vampire only to reappear with his back facing the man once more. That groan he was rewarded with prompted that light chuckle from the Fae in turn. That playful poking out of his tongue seeing that near beaming grin find place upon his features again. How he adored to tease his lover!
Sebastian shifted then to place that present upon the table as Dorian moved to make his way toward that window and the falling 'rain' outside. The Fae reaching to push those curtains more fully aside and allow that cool night breeze to filter in along with that flooding moonlight that cast its own glow across his creamy skin as the man leaned easily against that sill. His arms folded smoothly across his bare chest then, the Fae entirely aware of just how that lounging position so made him appear even if he was not quite aware of the effect that light itself so seemed to have on his lover. Dorian merely seeking to, silently, entice the man from their bed to view that final gift. That soft request to come and see that rain seemingly enough to coax the vampire from those sheets. Dorian's own head turning back if only to admire that view he was presented with in turn of his lovers equally bare and utterly perfect physique. The Fae shifting slightly in response to that simple desire such a view readily prompted from his figure in turn. Sebastian's hands coming to rest on his waist as Dorian lent easily back against him in that simple affection. His hand lifting to gesture to that glorious fountain below.
They had spoken of that very structure several months ago and yet they had hardly addressed it since. The plans for their wedding having taken up so very much of their time and yet the Fae King had hardly forgotten it. Dorian having spent several of those evenings within his office working on those plans in between the running of his kingdom with that intent of finishing it by Sebastian's birthday. It was, surely, a gift for both of them. Dorian thereby deeming it hardly a violation of Sebastian's wish to keep that celebration relatively small. Those bronze deer leaping in to that pond and out the other side as that rain fell behind them to fill their room with that simple, sweet sound. The Monarch distinctly pleased with his own creative efforts in this as he glanced upward and toward his lover once more, that look of surprise upon Sebastian's features entirely satisfying. Dorian content to assure him it was hardly any bigger than the last gift. That near coy smile dancing upon his lips as he did. Sebastian seemingly prompted to agree even despite the emphasis he placed on several of his words, so giving away that amusement, before that simple thanks was uttered.
"You are entirely welcome. Do you know, I-"
Any further words were stolen by that simple kiss. Dorian smiling softly against his lovers lips before returning that simple gesture. That simple press of Sebastian's figure so close to his own only further prompting those wants as he pulled gently away. The Monarch turning within his lovers arms to face Sebastian entirely then, allowing his own arms to wrap about the man's neck in a near playful sense. This, he had decided, a rather dangerous way to stand when both of them were so lacking in clothing and yet, tonight, Dorian found himself wholly inclined to be decidedly teasing all the same.
"What I meant to say was that I was thinking, since it is such a wholly pleasant fountain that, perhaps, come the spring when the weather is more agreeable we might....experiment a little with something more- outdoors. If you'd like."
One eye rose but slightly upward, Dorian rather assured Sebastian would understand exactly just what he might desire to attempt to try outdoors. The Monarch entirely oblivious to the notion that such a thought had crossed his lovers mind but only some moments ago in turn. That concession on his part to partake in such intimate affairs outside those closed doors that his own age had demanded was a decidedly large one upon his own part and yet he was so set to marry Sebastian in those coming months. More so, Dorian had, that past year, come to embrace far more of the modern world then he ever had before. The Fae entirely willing to explore those further ideas that had once been veritable barriers in his own time. Those same fears simply no longer existing as they once had and too- he quite remembered that promise. Those very words finding him then.
"I did not forget the promise I made to you on the street near two years ago. That one day I would let you have me entirely outside and without any doors at all. I was simply holding out for you to marry me- it seems."
That grin readily found his features once more, Dorian leaning forward then to press his lips to the vampires own in that single, quick kiss before he so shifted from where he stood within his lovers arms. His own remaining around the vampire's neck still as he moved to wander behind him. His head resting upon Sebastian's shoulder then. Dorian releasing that singular soft exhale.
"I fear though, Mon Cher, tonight is not at all about what I want. I quite think it is entirely up to you. What do you care to do, hmm? We can go downstairs if you would like, I am quite sure there is something entirely made of chocolate for you to enjoy that Elizabeth has been baking. We could go out for dinner or we can quite stay right here in our bedroom and yet I fear if you choose the last one I cannot at all be held accountable for what might occur."
His lips pressed readily to his lover's neck then in a gesture as teasing as those words. Dorian chuckling softly as he so waited for the vampire to decide just what he might like to do with his Birthday evening.
