Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
From the beginning their connection had been quick, even painless. Whereas he always knew to keep others at arms length before, he never wanted that with Adelaide, not from the moment she followed him out of the burlesque and chose to bring him home to care for him. He wanted her close, always. He wanted to know as much about her as possible. He wanted to trust her and more than that, he wanted her to trust him, more than anything. He didn't believe in love at first sight but he was sure that what they had was special and rare. He would be lying if he said he didn't think about a future that had her in it. Kids running around playing in the front yard while they sipped sweet tea on the porch, the dogs beside them. Call him corny. He'd never pictured that with anyone else but Becca and yet he saw it clear as day with Adelaide. And he yearned for it more than anything. He didn't want to jump to any conclusions or scare her off by saying he was falling for her or something but he knew in his heart that's exactly what was happening. He was falling hard and fast. As she teased him with her impish gaze and her wandering hands, he had to pull her away before things got too out of hand. He was a gentleman by nature but he was still a man and his body would react accordingly. He didn't want to ruin the good night by turning into a hormonal teenager. He wanted a lot better for her. He wanted to go slow. He wanted it to be perfect. As she ran away from him playing chase, she teased him about going tame and he laughed. "Not a chance. I've been a rebel for too long to shed that nature now." He gave her a cheeky smile as he reached for her. Then he was holding her in his arms and he heard her content sigh, his eyes softening with the sound. They started walking to the bike and she fastened her helmet before eying him when he brought up her driving. She let him know that she didn't want to learn how to drive in the dark and he smirked up at her, his eyes twinkling. "Sounds like a plan. I doubt it'll take much." He gave her a playful wink, shifting forward to give her more room as she slid onto the seat behind him. As her arms encircled his waist, he smiled, reaching down to gently rub her arm. "I could get used to this." He murmured low. She said that she found it enjoyable and his lips quirked. "I could think of a few that would work out better but I'll take what I can get." He laughed as he started the engine, revving it a few times before he made sure she was holding on tight. Then he took off down the hillside, heading back into town and toward her home.
