Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
While she knew perfectly well exactly what Townsend's true title and role in her life was, the woman could hardly stand the idea of ever allowing that word to slip through her dusty rose-colored lips. Servant. It was a disgusting word to use in some attempt to place a label on tearing blonde man that she loved like the older brother she'd never had, even if it was the plain and simple fact. Yes, there were other words that might do just as well, Butler being one of them and still she could not even begin to think of him in such a superior way. Of course, her parents had had no problems whatsoever "assigning" her care in the man's hands when they had been so young, Townsend having been introduced to Adelaide when she was six years old and he had been twelve. At first, it had simply been the see if the two were compatible, if the young girl took a liking to the boy, and she had. It had been a near instant connection, much like what existed between the dark-haired woman and the roguishly handsome man that captivated her in ways never before expected - let alone imagined. What tied Taylor and Adelaide together wasn't quite the same as the unbreakable bond between the French woman and the Englishman, but despite the differences between her feelings towards the two men in her life that she trusted entirely and without hesitation, those bonds were just as strong as the other. And when her parents saw how well she and dear William got along, they'd named him their only daughter's caretaker. The Townsends had been a long-standing family whose lives intertwined with the LaBelles, some people usually wondering how it was that a British family and French family came together in such a way where one served diligently, proudly in the house of the other, but the explanation was fairly simple. One of her forefathers had encountered one of the Townsend men, and a friendship had been sparked to life and grown into a lasting flame. Exactly how it was those two men lost long ago to the hands of time, Adelaide herself wasn't entirely sure, but it didn't matter to her. She was simply thankful for Townsend being in her life, and for her, he was not a servant but rather he was family. He was her companion and her most trusted friend, and no amount of money could ever equal his value to her.
Entering into the kitchen, eager for the rich flavors of that perfectly brewed coffee that Townsend had very much perfected, she says happy to take her seat there at the bar with that smile upon her lips as she greets the man busying himself with their usual morning routine. It was easier for her to keep to thay schedule that the Englishman seemed to want her to follow, not only because for the lack of that wretched nobleman's presence in her present days, but because of, well... other reasons. Just as her thoughts are flickering over this very idea of routines and how she was surprisingly more eager to be up early instead of lounging around in her bed for a little while longer reading one of those books on her nightstand, she can feel her phone vibrating in the front pocket of her jeans and she is hardly able to hide that warm smile that finds its way onto her lips as she reads his text message, serving as that very reason that she was content to be moving about at this hour when she was certain to have another busy day in the bistro. She doesn't really have to wonder if Townsend had an idea of those feelings that she felt towards Taylor, but in that same moment, she hardly cared if he did or didn't. What he certainly didn't know about was that night when the two younger people had more reasons less eloped into the night, Taylor having taken her to the hillside outside the city limits where the lights in the dark seemed to mirror the stars in the clear night sky that they'd shared their first kiss beneath, shared even more of those scars that littered their hearts and souls from the wrongs that has been done unto them. As she would remember the pain she'd heard in his voice from those pieces of his past that Taylor had bravely shared with her, Adelaide could help but feel like her troubles hardly amounted to the same trials that the man had weathered... And how he had become the man that he was, so warm and carefree and honest, it was almost entirely beyond the woman's understanding. The betrayals that had shaken her world in that past she fled from had affected her greatly, perhaps even more than they ever should have. So, she found it incredible and wondrous that Taylor could have a easily stolen into that trust she had once been so sure she would never place into the hands of another. If only he knew just how much she truly appreciated him for who he was, admired him even more for his want to be better - not only for himself, but for her. He didn't believe himself worth her time or affectionately, and how Adelaide wanted to show him that no one would ever be more deserving, but as she had promised him beneath those glittering stars, she would wait until he saw in himself when she saw in him now.
Clearly distracted by those thoughts that warmed her heart and gentle those fierce, glittering sage eyes, Adelaide nearly misses Townsend's greeting when she settles into that high chair at the granite bar, her chin resting lightly over those laced fingers. He turns to retrieve the cup and the French woman quickly unfolds her hands and reaches for that ceramic coffee cup, allowing for the caramel-like aroma of the espresso roast beans to fill her senses before she take a blissful sip of the warm liquid."Mmm, thank you Townsend. You truly know me so well, Don't you?", she says to the Englishman in those accented words as she gives him a playful smile, dark lashes fluttering over sage depths alive with fondness for the man. She turns to look at the ingredients as he he resumes with preparing breakfast, giving him a small nod as she suddenly feels that anticipates hunger in her core, hardly realizing just how hungry she was until now."That sounds absolutely divine", she remarks as she finds herself almost impatient for that food to be cooked and ready to eat. Breakfast had always been her favorite meal of the day, especially since she hardly counted dessert as a meal though she also couldn't deny that sweet tooth she had that the blonde man continuing with the diligent cooking of that skillet knew all too well she was subject to craving with on most nights after their dinner - and sometimes even after their luncheons."You know Townsend, I think that perhaps for dinner tonight we should have Duck à l'Orange. It's been a while since we've enjoyed that dish", she says thoughtfully with both hands wrapped lightly around that coffee cup as she watches the man go about the kitchen, one leg now crossed elegantly over the other as she sat there with elbows on the countertop while she leans over it. For whatever reason, it sounded perfect. Perhaps it was because of how popular it seemed to be at Beachside Bar and Bistro, she wasn't really sure why it sounded amazing to have for dinner tonight, but it did. She looked over to that fireplace where Rose lay stretched out on the rug with that proud head resting over large paws, eyes closed as the beauceron dozed peacefully in her favorite place while the black and tan male draped himself on the floor beside Adelaide, dark brown eyes watching the female as if he were contemplating on if he wanted to join her or not.
Taking another sip of that coffee, the woman could almost swear she'd heard the roar of that Harley as or pulled into the driveway, but she dismisses it for a moment. However, it was when Reginald suddenly rose to a sitting position, handsome head turned towards the hallway with cropped ears perked that was all the confirmation that the Adelaide needed to know that Taylor was here. On time as always. When the knock sounded against the front door, it was Rose who was suddenly entirely awake now, a soft growl sounding in her throat as she also turned her attention to the hallway, watching as the black and tan male lifted have muscled frame to a stand and strode towards the door with his slightly curled tail moving in sweeping wags to show that he was much more keen on the idea that his backyard companion had returned. Townsend speaks then, that clear distaste not too unlike the growl that Rose had given before rising into a sitting position by the hearth, refusing to move from that spot for the time being. Adelaide rolls her eyes at the Englishman then, watching as he turned to follow Reginald towards the main entryway of the house."He's hardly my pet, Townsend. Try to be kind to the man, you might find that you like him", she calls after him teasingly though she remains where it was that she sat, not wanting to seem nearly as eager to meet the man at the door like she wanted to. She can hear the door open and the less than warm and friendly greeting that the blonde man gives Taylor and she hardly refrains from that amused chuckle that falls gently from her."He is always on time, Townsend. Stop giving the poor man such a difficult time", she calls down the hall again, the perk to how the house was set making it easy to hear the words that Townsend and Taylor exchange. She can even hear the sound of Reginald's dull claws against the tile floor as he walked a circle around Taylor before nudging the man's hands almost roughly as if demanding to be petted. It was Townsend who was first to reappear as he moves back to his place in the kitchen, adding more to the morning meal with his back to Taylor for the time being who is next to appear from the hallway with Reginald beside him, that pink tongue lolled happily to the side of his parted jaw to show his happiness as he looked up at the man. Adelaide smiles warmly to the brunette man, unable to keep her sage gaze from taking him in for a moment before they finally meet those hunter greens she so adored."Good morning, Monsieur. How are you this morning?", she greets him gently in those lilted and silken words before lifting that coffee cup back up to her lips, all the while keeping her eyes on his as she waited patiently for him to sit beside her like she hoped that he might instead of in the living area or the table in the breakfast nook out of some nervousness that Townsend seemed all too content to place over the man.
