Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

let's be friends

She listened attentively as Nadya told her that she went to a human school. It seemed like she had her pack going with her at the time so she at least had friends who understood her. Malia chewed her bottom lip, wondering if she'd make any friends in school or if she'd be a loner. She was eager to know as much as she could though. Her eyes twinkled as she thought about what the experience must have been like. Nadya didn't seem to think it mattered if her tutor was human or not. Malia scrunched her nose. "I guess, though I might have to have short lessons. I don't think I can sit still that long." She shrugged as if it was no big deal. She just knew her weaknesses and a short attention span and restlessness was definitely one of them. Then Nadya motioned for her to follow and Malia jumped up eagerly, following her outside. She looked at the car Nadya was walking toward warily. "Is it...safe?" She paused on the steps. She had never been in a car since that night the hunters shot her with an arrow and tied her up and threw her in the back of a van. She never trusted the big rolling things. She'd seen too many coyotes and dogs get hit by them and never get back up. It seemed cursed.

Only after Nadya reassured her that it was safe did her trust for her pack mate and friend win out and she let out a deep exhale before getting in the car. "Please don't let me die." She prayed to no one in particular, maybe even talking to Nadya herself as she closed the door and leaned back in the seat, pushing back as if she could make it swallow her up. She was tense, looking around at everything and when they started moving, she gasped at first before she realized everything was okay. Only then did she look out the window. "Whoa...we're going so fast!" It could have only been 30 mph but it felt like 100 to her as she watched the trees fly by. Her fingers trailed down the window and she jumped and gasped as she accidentally hit the down button for the window with her elbow. She glanced back at Nadya as if to question if it was okay. "I didn't break it, did I?" She furrowed her brows apologetically. Once assured it wasn't broken, she went back to watching the scenery flash by till they got to the school.

Her eyes widened as they pulled up to the building. She pointed. "Is this it? It's almost cute." She smirked. She jumped out of the car when Nadya parked, pausing to stare down at her feet for a minute. "It feels weird now...standing still after moving in that...thing." She glanced back toward the car warily but her eyes lit up a little, letting Nadya know that she felt better about vehicles now. She eagerly followed Nadya into the building, looking around at everything awe as they made their way down the hallway. She grinned as she heard all the children coming from the rooms on either side. She ran over to a door and glanced inside, practically beaming back at Nadya. "There's so many children here! Are they all Were's?" Then she followed Nadya to the half door, curious why it looked different than the others. When Nadya motioned for her to be quiet, she nodded silently and snuck up to stand beside Nadya. She followed Nadya's gaze, using her sense of smell to find the twins the fastest. She remembered their scent from the last full moon with the pack.

She grinned when she saw them at the table, her eyes lighting up. Then another voice had her head snapping to the teacher as she came over. She stepped a little closer to Nadya, ready to defend if needed but the teacher didn't seem to pose a threat so she let herself relax a little while she watched Nadya sign something on the clipboard. "Do I need to sign it too?" She asked Nadya in a whisper as Nadya handed it back to the teacher. She listened as the teacher and Nadya talked back and forth, her grin growing as they chuckled about the twins and their changing appetites. Then Nadya opened the door and motioned for her to go first. Malia lit up as she practically skipped into the room, eagerly looking around at all the kids before she saw the twins making their way toward them. She wasn't sure they would remember her because she was in her coyote form when they last saw her so she paused and waited to see how they would react to her. The little girl Izzy was first, holding up her drawing for Nadya and telling her how she was drawing for her and Micah, her brother. Malia smiled adoringly.

Then Nadya pointed at her suddenly and she clammed up, her brows raised in surprise. She hadn't expected Nadya to mention her. Nadya asked if they remembered her and she waited, shifting her weight nervously as she eyed the kids, sure they were about to shake their heads no at any minute and look at her in confusion. The boy reacted as she thought, holding his mother's hand and leaning back on her for comfort as he watched Malia shyly. The little girl was a little more confident though, holding up her drawing so Malia bent over to get more on her level, looking at the picture with rapt attention as Izzy told her how she drew it with her brother. She grinned at Nadya then at Izzy. "I see. You're very good at it. You could be an artist some day if you wanted. What do you like to draw?"
