Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Arlo James
See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch
He hadn't exactly anticipated Abby's sudden interest in the puppy although really, he supposed, he probably should have. After all, who didn't like puppies? His Little Bear seeming exactly like the type of person who would kinda relish playing with one. Not that he himself could say he was probably any better. He'd carried Maxwell around half the night the evening Seb had abruptly decided he was going to buy him from that loser in the park. Had he told Dorian that was how they'd gotten their dog? Probably not and yet really he could hardly blame the guy. Besides, what did it really matter where Max had come from as long as he was happy now right? Abigail's sudden query as to why on earth she hadn't been told Seb and Dorian had a dog was met with a momentarily sheepish glance. Was he supposed to tell her about people's pets? Maybe he was was. Huh, he'd have to remember that for next. His shoulders shrugging lightly then.
"To be honest I kinda hadn't thought about Max until, well, now. Next time we go to anyone's place though I'll make sure I tell you what pets they have, yeah?"
That ready grin found his lips once more as that conversation shifted slightly to fathers, particularly Dorian's own, Arlo hardly able to help that comment that fell from his lips in regards to that French Fae Sebastian had shown him a picture of that night. Arlo assured the man had to be some sort of model or something, hell, even he was willing to admit the guy looked good and he was pretty sure he wasn't gay. Mostly. Even if he still had some sort of vibe going on that the table at large seemed to find hilarious. That almost sharp look Sebastian afforded him at that mention of Matteo however was hardly missed, even Arlo ot quite having forgotten exactly what Seb had admitted too when it came to his fiance's Father and yet Arlo had promised to keep that one a secret- a promise he had every intention of keeping. The younger vampire instead near effortlessly brushing over the idea altogether. After all, he didn't want Abby seeing this guy either. He was hardly jealous of some Fae guy he'd never met but....still. Abby didn't need to see him he was sure. Just in case.
It was that mention of the backstreet boys that saw that rather dubious look return to his features, his own eyes rolling in that simple good nature all the same as Seb ribbed at him over his apparent style. The very idea of those boys and what they were doing however seemed to fly entirely over Abby's head, even Arlo unable to prevent that lopsided grin that tugged at his lips at that promise from Sebastian to show Dorian exactly what those boys got up too. Someone was getting lucky tonight. Abby's assurance that she liked him just the way he looked was, if anything, somehow....meaningful to the vampire. Even amongst that teasing. Another soft mile flashed towards her with that thanks before the arrival of dessert promptly drew his attention.
He didn't mean to be so focused on food exactly and yet Sebastian's blood was just....beyond anything else he knew. It was so much better than any other vampires. That combination of Dorian's own blood mixed with whatever the hell flavour it was Sebastian seemed to just have naturally wa the ultimate combination- of that he was entirely sure. Arlo near inhaling that dessert like he'd inhaled every other meal. The young vampire pausing only then to ask after the potential for indigestion after having eaten an entire dinner after, well, years of having barely touched human food let alone eaten it. His blue gaze lifted almost expectantly to Seb then, the elder vampire hardly seeming concerned about the idea beyond that mention he might, potentially, experience some sort of discomfort- though hardly enough to worry about. Arlo content to assume such an answer meant he could continue to eat that cream dessert thing without any worries. His spoon scraping the bottom of the bowl a moment later.
It was only after those dishes had been cleared that the younger vampire finally made that suggestion that, given the time, they probably should start heading home. Abigail's almost reluctant agreement bringing that smile to his lips once more. He was....pleased that she'd liked Seb and Dorian. Hell, Sebastian was the only real friend he had outside of her and it was important, somehow, that the two might get on. Dorian an added bonus as far as he was concerned. The Fae King, well, not exactly what he'd anticipated and yet he liked the guy.Dorian was fun and friendly spoke english and really Arlo was mostly sure they were pretty good qualities. Besides, he seemed to really like flowers, just like Abby did. Maybe they could do more things all together? That would be nice right? Dorian seeming readily agreeable to the idea as Seb nodded in turn.
"Sure Ab's, we'll come back."
He assured her simply. Arlo pushing away from the table then to rise from his chair, waiting for Abby to join him before following Dorian and Seb to the door. Arlo making an effort to put his shoes back on. The sudden arrival of that butler guy with a set of envelopes saw his gaze glance upward, Arlo reaching out to take his own as the other was offered to Abby, the ivory white envelope with its fancy gold trim surely that invitation Seb had promised him those months ago. Where the hell did you even get paper this nice?
"Thanks, bud."
He offered simply, Arlo tucking that envelope into the inside off his jacket, his blue gaze glanced back toward Abby once more as that nervousness seemed to find him all over again. Should he really ask her tonight if she wanted to....go out with him properly? Would she even say yes? God, she might just laugh for all he knew and yet he somehow doubted that reaction in the least. They had had fun tonight though right? Was this what being with him was like? Hadn't Seb said he needed to show her that? God, how was he even going to word this? That near train wreck of thought was, fortunately, halted by the sudden query from the butler who'd stolen his shoes on whether or not he could have his autograph. Arlo blinking suddenly in surprise as that paper and pen were held out to him. He hadn't given an autograph in years! The simple shock of it still surely clear on his face as Seb simply shrugged before assuring him that clearly this was a house full of his fans, Arlo's lip quirking upward once more as his eyes rolled in that playful fashion. The vampire reaching for that paper all the same before asking after Charles' name and penning that requested autograph for him.
"You know, I think this might be one of the few autographs I even remember giving, the last time anyone asked me for one I was high on-.......adrenaline from my show."
He corrected quickly, flashing Abby another grin all the same. Sebastian alone perhaps the only one aware of just where that sentence had been going as he handed that paper back to the thrilled looking Charles. Arlo easily holding his hand out towards Seb and Dorian once more in turn.
"Thanks again for having us and for the wedding gig too, I'll catch you later in the week Seb and Dorian send me those songs or give them to Seb to give me. Come on, Ab's. Let's go home."
