Sacrosanct contains four distinct neighborhoods, each with their own specific kind of houses and residents. Explore our districts, view lists of our citizens and enjoy our block parties!
Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
She was out of place, with herself, with the world, and perhaps that is all that qualified her to be found in a place such as this. River Dale tended to be the catch all for those who had nowhere else to go, and that was the essence of her life right now. She had needed an escape and running back to Sacrosanct had seemed like the only viable option. She had her reasons, reasons that haunted her every step it seemed, and she wasn't sure if those would ever go away, but for now perhaps she could find a distraction in unexpected company. He was relaxed, seemed easy going, and had a self-deprecating humor that managed to make her feel at ease quickly despite the abrupt start of their meeting. Perhaps that is what led her to toss out a haphazard if not partially empty invitation to come back once she had time to set up the apartment. The last time she lived here she had managed quite the eclectic style by shopping at antique markets and thrift stores and picking up items on corners intended for the dump in the richer parts of town. Still it would take time, but maybe that would be a nice distraction as well.
His response was as noncommittal as her offer had been, the toothy grin he flashed her way not missed along with the additional two fangs he seemed to sport on his bottom row of teeth. Curious, but not something she felt compelled to ask him about necessarily, at least not now. You grew accustomed to the variation of monsters in Sacrosanct, there seemed no end to what they could be or do like a four-fanged teleporting vampire in your living room. Hopefully her nervousness would fade and she could enjoy it as she once had. For now she focused on running her fingers through the cats fur, quirking an eyebrow in amusement and shock as the story of a cat which wasn't a cat unfolded. She couldn't resist a harsh blurt of laughter at the end when he stated that his "cat" was now his girlfriend. How in the world.
Arlo at least seemed to find it amusing, though she was beginning to think there wasn't much he wouldn't be willing to laugh at. She nodded politely at his response to her job hunting, taking mentally noting the options he put out there, a few which she had already considered, but still appreciating his input.
Her question after what alienated him so from his own kind, that seemed to prefer the company of their own more often than not as far as she knew, gained another of his famous shrugs. She might have teased him about it if not for his response after wards. Her dark brows furrowed slightly, this information on types of vampires wholly new and foreign to the girl. She couldn't miss the touch of venom in his voice as he ended his explanation, gaining an intrigued look from her hazel eyes. It seemed he wasn't too fond of his own kind, something she understood in a way. Were's were by nature pack creatures, but snow leopards were not and it was a juxtaposition that often plagued her.
Still she was almost glad for the distraction he apparently found in the crumpled-up papers she had pulled from a dumpster to pad her boxes. It wasn't until he turned it toward her, making some offhanded comment about a royal wedding that she took any interest in it. Stepping a few feet forward to get a better look until she recognized one of the two faces that smile back from the black and white picture. Her sharp intake of breath a byproduct of surprise as she moved to take the paper from his hands. She cut Arlo a sharp look and a roll of her blue-green eyes at his comment.
She barely noticed as Arlo stepped away and planted himself on the dilapidated couch that had been left by the previous tenant, her mind still reeling a bit with the news as she took in what the article had to say. Not terribly much, mostly regarding the extravagant affair that had taken place only months before, and trying to fit it against what she knew of Sebastian. Honestly, there wasn't much. Their relationship had always been rather shallow, despite the connection they shared on some mostly physical level, he was probably the closest she had come to a friend in this city though and it was surprising.
Her gaze jumped back to the vampire as he started prattling off a lengthy bit of information regarding the apparent Fae King of Spain.
