Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Arlo James
See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch
There was something, well, pretty damn cute about the way her cheeks seemed to flush in the wake of that first kiss they had abruptly shared. Arlo realizing perhaps a little too late that it might have been too abrupt really and yet there was a sweetness to it all the same. One he was sure he was never going to forget. That taste of her, the softness of her lips, the way she seemed to melt so easily against him it was....probably the best first kiss he'd ever had. Arlo quick to compliment her on it in turn, after all, he knew she was nervous about those more intimate things, even the chaste version of them. That praise seeming to bring that colour to her cheeks all the more in a fashion he found adorable really. The vampire unable to stop that smile that found his lips before Abby reached out to take his hand in maybe the boldest move she had ever really made. The vampire simply letting his fingers lace with her own as she assured him home really did sound nice. The young woman's head resting against his shoulder a moment later as they started off down the street.
It was ridiculous, really, the amount of times he'd had the girl in her panada form resting on his shoulders or his lap or his chest. Hell, he'd carried her around in his hoody and yet somehow this touch, here and now, simple and soft as it was seemed to mean so much more. Arlo mostly sure he could feel his own heart beating in some combination of well....he wasn't even really sure. Happy excitement? Was that a thing? It was something made up of those all the same. Some combination of them. Arlo struggling to remember the last time he had been this happy at all. At least until the very realisation that her Father might be home seemed to bring him crashing back down to earth. Fathers. That was another thing he was going to have to ask Seb about. He was marrying Dorian after all, that meant Dorian's father approved of him right? Seb must have done something right. He'd have to remember that for the next time he saw his vampire companion. Arlo, for now, prompted to ask whether or not Abigail's father was planning on being home tonight. At least he was wearing a tie tonight, that had to be worth points right?
Daddy. She said it so casually, so easily and yet Arlo was mostly sure no other word filled him with nearly so much anxiety as that one. The woman easily dismissing the idea a moment later with the assurance her Father was away overseas. That feeling of relief by far one of the best he'd had tonight and yet he tried not to show it too much even as that soft sigh escaped him. Arlo flashing her a grin all the same. No 'Daddy' for the night at least meant he wasn't going to wake up with a shotgun pointed at him tomorrow. Not that Abby's family really seemed the type to carry guns to begin with. Arlo dismissing the thought once more as they kept on down that street and towards the little townhouse his Little Bear called home. Arlo released her hand gently then, letting the woman fumble with the keys before opening that door, even Arlo willing to admit he was glad to be home tonight. He felt...tired, or at least, as close to tired as a vampire ever really cold be. The man content to blame the steady rise of the sun and closer creep toward breaking over that horizon.
Still, his thoughts lingered on that other promise the woman had made, one he was mostly sure she hadn't fully realised the implications off when she'd made it. That query on whether or not she was serious about coming home with him, back to his family home, seeming to earn him that near quizzical look in turn. Arlo unable to help that quirk off his own lip as she stared blankly at him while he mind struggled to keep up. If this was the effect of a glass of wine or two he was almost sure three would have done the woman in entirely. Abby suddenly seeming to recall just what he was talking about before insisting she really was serious about it. Even as she struggled to undo her shoes. High heels really did look like a struggle.
"Well, let me know which break works better for you and I guess we will go then. We'll probably have to stay overnight in a hotel or something but we should be back the next day. Hopefully with the papers. I'll make sure I get a car for that though, I won't make you ride on the bike that far."
That grin found his lips all the same, one he was mostly sure he was using to hide any of that anxiety that came with going home. God, who knew what he might be dragging poor Ab's into with that? Then again maybe he could just....leave her in the car and run in and run out? That seemed dodgy even by his own standards. Maybe he could just organise to get his stuff when his family was out. That might be easiest for everyone. He was going to have to call them. God. Still, for tonight at least he hardly had any desire to dwell on those less than pleasant thoughts. Not after the night had gone so well. Arlo struggling now with that tie around his neck, that knot refusing to budge. Great. He was going to be in this forever- that very sentiment leaving his lips then as Abby only giggled before claiming she liked him in it. His eyes rolling playfully.
"Oh well, if you like it...."
That chuckle hummed from his own lips then as Abby wandered closer, that question of whether or not she wanted him to stay the night falling from him then, Arlo offering her that escape all the same just in case she wanted that time to herself after having already spent the whole evening with him. Girlfriend or not he was hardly oblivious to idea that she might want what remained of that evening alone too....well......honestly he had no idea what girls did but he was sure it was something. Girlfriend really was a good word. Maybe it was even his favourite word tonight. This relationship, small and new as it was, was already by far the nicest he'd ever had. His own blue gaze drew downward as Abby's fingers knotted in that tie, the woman tugging on it a moment later as Arlo rather obediently followed. Ha! He'd known this was the idea behind ties all along! No wonder women liked it when men wore them. It was like a....boy lead. Not that he was truly complaining. That grin still on his lips as he followed her up stairs and towards her bedroom, Arlo pausing only once they reached her bedroom, the vampire leaning easily in the doorway then.
"Hey, Ab's?"
It was easy to wait for the woman to turn once more, Arlo easily reaching out to rest one hand on her waist, tugging her gently closer once more before letting his lips find her own again in that warm, welcomed kiss that felt nothing short of glorious and tasted wonderful all the same.
"Thanks for tonight. All of it."
