Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

it makes it easier having a light like you shining beside me

He would never forget that first night. She was beautiful under those dim lights in the burlesque, but it was her fire that really attracted him. She was a diamond shining in the middle of a dust storm. He was a man so of course he would be attracted to her, not that he expected anything to come of it. He wasn't the same guy who left his home town once he made it to Sacrosanct. He left too much behind, too much that was sure to catch up to him one day. And he couldn't be the man who dragged someone else into that hell hole. He wouldn't. So he'd tried to push her away that night, to warn her to stay away cause it was the best thing for her. Should have known that wasn't going to work. She was as stubborn as she was beautiful. Something changed between and all it took was that first night of sharing. He'd never opened up to someone as quickly as he did her. There was just something so strong and yet vulnerable at the same time about her, the perfect mixture to assure him that he could tell her anything. And he'd never quit trusting her with information since.

He knew he wasn't smart or rich or tied to a powerful family. He wasn't a prince or heir or anything like that. He felt like he really had nothing to offer her but himself and what went with that. Nothing material. He had nothing but his clothes and his bike to his name before he met Adelaide. Now he was able to pay back Tommy his ex land lord and was getting ever closer to paying off Doug too. Life was good. And it was made even better by having Adelaide to bright up his day. He was sure she was the love of his life. He knew he didn't dress to the nines and he didn't drive a fancy car. He couldn't stop looking at her. She was perfect in everything she did. Even just sitting on the chair outside while he was working in the yard, she still drew his gaze. He loved how he could get lost in those sage green eyes. It was like everything he could ever need or want was in those eyes. She was indeed beautiful but she was so much more than that. She was independent and the strongest woman he'd ever met.

She was fire and spirit and everything in between. She wouldn't step back just because he had a bad past. She didn't care about any of that. She was willing to stay with him even with all that came with it. He couldn't get her out of his mind whether she was with him or not. She filled every waking moment and his dreams were of her too. She said that she looked forward to whatever he wanted and that she wanted to do everything he did. He smiled, his heart swelling. He reached out to cup her chin, his thumb caressing her jaw. "I look forward to sharing every bit of it with you." Then she said that it was tempting to go back to sleep but that they would miss their adventure. He smirked. "I guess you're right. We'll have to take a raincheck for now." When he commented on her looking perfect, she said that he wouldn't want anyone else to see what was meant for him and he made a growl in his throat. "Parden my french but you're damn right about that, darling." He went to pack, coming back to wrap his arms around her neck.

She leaned back into him and hummed in approval. He could stay like this forever but he knew she was as excited to get going as he was. He said she was lucky to have a man with accessories and he was glad he got to hear her laughter as he brought her a hair tie. She agreed and he grinned in response. When he came back dressed, he noted the lifted brow and chuckled. "Don't be jealous. You might get a chance to wear it before the end of the week." He said with a wink. She said she was born ready and he grinned again, heading out to the Harley. He tied both of their bags on the back of the bike and handed her the spare helmet before he climbed on the front and started it up. He smiled at the deep purr of the motor, revving it a few times as she said no holding back. He smirked at her. "Only for you, sweetheart. No one else can handle this at 100 proof." He held out his hand to help her on and only once she was settled did he kick the kickstand up and take off, heading for the highway.
