Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
we built this city on broken glass
Malia, it seemed, was as willing as always to take up that near teasing tone to his own words. Frost content to assure the young coyote woman that had Abigail truly been a viking, even at her diminutive size, she would surely have been far too much for Malia to handle. The young woman quick to scoff at that very idea before insisting that he might yet remind her of a monkey, that singular raise off one eye prompting that soft chuckle within his own throat in a rare show of near genuine amusement. The War Horse entirely inclined to remember that evening he and Malia hd shared within the depths of the Ark when it had been all but overrun by those primates in Tetradore's absence. Malia and himself having restored order to that establishment in the wake of Raven's.....inability to do so. He had been impressed with Malia that night, in what she could do. She was a consistent, reliable fighter within her coyote form in the least. Frost rarely inclined to forget those very aspects of others that impressed him- few and far between though they were. The stallion was inclined in that moment to remain silent as the women discussed those gifts and how they were best worn. Nadya quick to offer that explanation to Malia in turn before suggesting a shopping trip of sorts. His girlfriend readily reliable when it came to helping other women find those outfits they desired. Nadya holding a true eye for fashion in every sense and truly the equine hardly found himself displeased with the idea of his pack spending time with one another in just such a way. After all, a bonded pack was a united one, the more likeable they found one the more likely they would be to defend one another if the moment ever came. Malia was progressing well with her self defense training. Perhaps next week he might encourage Scarlett to join that session. If Abigail continued to remain then, in time, perhaps even she might be coaxed into learning to defend herself. Frost so refusing to allow even one of his pack mates to be defenceless in their human forms.
His violet gaze shifted once more to Scarlett then as he queried those museums. He had, in his own life, travelled very little of America itself, those museums a true interest to himself even if he rarely voiced it aloud. He enjoyed history, he enjoyed reading, a part of the man rather assured he would enjoy those museums in turn. Scarlett willing to indulge his curiosity as she listed all those she had been too before declaring the natural history museum to have been her most favoured. That mention of fossils and gems readily seeming to delight Abigail in turn, the red-hair woman excitedly taking up that idea of dinosaurs before asking if they were 'huge'. She was, Frost had decided, an enthusiastic creature and perhaps not the sort of being he had anticipated malia might befriend. Still, he could hardly deny there was a pleasantness to the young woman.Abigail, despite her nervousness, readily seeming to settled into that group all the same. Frost's own cool, easy lyrics directed back toward Scarlett then.
"I would like to hear more about this hope diamond later, I have not heard of that before."
He offered readily, this a point of clear intrigue for the man. Perhaps, later, he mind find a chance to speak with Scarlett alone on several aspects off her trip. Frost, for now, content in her return. The woman who sat before him far more lively then the one whom had left. Scarlett having returned to the girl he had always known her to be. That holiday had done her good. The sudden approach of Nadya's children seemed to bring a sudden tenseness toward Abigail, the stallion easily shifting from his position to engage Isabella's attention himself and direct the girl back toward Scarlett whom seemed all to willing to pick up where he had left off and query the girls newest toy. Frost's head nodding softly towards Scarlett then in clear appreciation off her efforts before his attention shifted again to Abigail and those thoughts that turned with panic inside her mind. His own words, this time, uttered softly just to her in that assurance they were not all predators here. The womans head suddenly shaking before insisting he was surely something 'big and scary'. Frost allowing one eye to lift slightly before that ghost of a simper seemed to find his lips once more. He was hardly so large as an elephant in the very least, although his animal form was arguably big all the same. Scary was perhaps debatable.
"No, I am not an elephant. I am a horse. Are you afraid of horses?"
His strange violet gaze continued to linger upon her for several moments, Frost near curious as to her reaction to that very revelation before his attention lifted to the room at large. His query on whether Scarlett was hungry evidently prompting the rest of the pack to insist they were in turn. Nadya was quick to rise with that suggesting of ribs. His own features frowning slightly at the idea of something so...unappetizing. Even if the rest of his pack seemed inclined to disagree with him. Scarlett was readily summoned into that kitchen to help Nadya as Malia turned to Abigail in turn to insist she stayed if only to ward away the bad luck that apparently came from leaving a house hungry. Hmm. An interesting theory- yet one he hardly moved to dispel as Frost moved to follow the rest of the girls into the kitchen. Nadya had already placed that vegetable, cracker and cheese plate on the island. Frost plucking a carrot stick from upon it as he passed, the stallion dodging around the women as they bustled within the kitchen, Nadya grilling those ribs while Scarlett worked on that salad. He paused briefly at the fridge to pilfer a small container from it, along with two eggplant halves. The stallion content to toss those halves onto the grill to the side of those ribs. After all, if everyone else was having a warm meal then Abigail and himself might surely enjoy the same to go with that appealing salad Nadya had suggested and Scarlett was making.
"Naja, could you add the cheese to those eggplants like you did the last time? I enjoyed that."
He had not forgotten that pleasing dish she had made him a week or so ago. Those grilled eggplants and cheese decidedly satisfying. Frost assured she could be coaxed into making himself and Abigail some more before he returned to that island counter, that container of hummus dip placed beside that tray of snacks. Frost content to sweep his second slice of carrot through it before lifting it to his lips.
"Eat a vegetable Malia, it won't kill you."
The coyote, for her part, appeared as distinctly displeased as she always was with his own preferences for vegetables, Frost pushing that plate slightly towards Abigail in that silent invitation, his gaze drifting briefly back to Scarlett then as she continued with that salad. Frost eyeing her work critically in that moment before seemingly finding himself satisfied with her efforts. His question directed toward Abigail then, his voice loud enough so those in the kitchen could still hear over that cooking. The stallion leaning easily against that bench then, his head resting in his hand. The man the very picture of nonchalant in that singular moment.
"Tell me, Abigail. How did you and Malia manage to meet today?"
