Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
It had been days since the attack and Miya had felt like a new person! Truly, it was glorious, she was quite healed up, the scabbing was basically gone and the bruising was all but nonexistent. She felt like a brand new person! And Edgar and his wife had been kind enough to stop by, bringing her a new phone. She had tried to give it back, desperately telling them she couldn't accept such a gift and yet, the woman had given in, worried she might offend the man if she didn't take it. His wife was such a lovely woman, all laughter and they had spoken for awhile. Edgar had made sure it worked and he was even kind enough to make sure she got it set up to her number, calling it to make sure it worked. How such a nice man worked for such a brute like Oliver was beyond her, she couldn't understand why and yet, she was thankful to Edgar nonetheless. The man had even gone as far as to give her his number, lest she needed a ride somewhere.
She almost denied him and yet, after a moment, Miya thought better of it. She couldn't very well count on her luck anymore, the woman should be dead ten times over. How she had gotten lucky enough to be saved twice was beyond her and it wasn't that she wasn't grateful for it... she simply wished she didn't need so much saving. For how much she told Oliver she wasn't a damsel in distress, well, she definitely was. Sighing, she leans on the counter as she reaches up to touch her lips, a habit she had gotten into since that night in the shower. Even thinking back on it has the woman blushing from head to toe. She can't believe she took a shower with a man! What was she thinking? Even then, she fainted and somehow had woken in her own bed, freshly dressed, her ruined clothing no where to be in sight. She had been mortified, he must have seen her naked body undressing her and yet, over the days that mortification slowly left her. She wasn't going to see him again, it didn't matter. Truly.
Turning around, she drops her hands from her lips, the scent of seafood lingering heavily in the air as her eyes land on the boxers that are draped over the back of the chair. Again, a furious blush comes over her as she remembers Mr. and Mrs. Hill seeing Oliver's boxers there. She couldn't explain fast enough and stumbled over her words with such embarrassment that she was certain Edgar took pity on her and left with his wife. Why she still had his boxers was beyond her. It wasn't like she was planning on seeking him out again to give them back, was she? She should just throw them away and yet, she's unable to. Miya hardly wants to put them in her drawer and she doesn't want to throw them away, so, there they were. Remaining on the back of the chair. Sighing deeply, she pushes it away. She wouldn't let that bossy man invade her mind any longer! Smoothing out her red dress, her hair falling in curls over her shoulder she smiles again. Things were finally looking up for her! She had received a promotion today, the hospital finally seeing her worth and promoting her as one of the main doctors within the hospital.
She couldn't be more excited! Though she had yet to receive her first check, she splurged a bit, going out and buying fish for dinner. She went as far as to buy a variety of fresh vegetable and scallops, her mouth watering as she was buying them. Miya was excited for the meal, the girl having yet to buy food like this in awhile, it was far too expensive and she rarely saw food like this. Things were going to change though and she was beyond thrilled. Humming to herself softly, she finishes chopping the ingredients, her delicate fingers reaching out for her wine glass. The girl was hardly a drinker, having only drank a handful of time, but she was celebrating was she not? Taking a sip, the full bodied wine courses across her tongue in a delicious way, pleasantly surprised she managed to pick a good one. It was the first time she had bought a bottle of wine that wasn't for cooking purposes. Returning to humming to herself, she swirls the liquid in her glass absentmindedly just as a heavy knocking comes to the front door.
She flinches, startled by the abrupt noise, the girl so rarely having visitors. Setting her glass down, the petite Asian woman makes her way to the door, hardly looking through the peephole as she opens it to reveal a face she thought she would never see again. Lips parting in surprise, she looks at Oliver in shock, his handsome face watching her right back, "I... what are..." she stumbles over her words, not quite able to gather her thoughts as she stares at him, the breeze chilly on her bare arms and legs, "You left your underwear here," oh my god, what was she saying?! Immediately she blushes fiercely, before stepping away from the door and opening it wider, "Come in," she mumbles, embarrassed as she looks away from him, the girl unable to turn him away after her word vomit came spilling out once more.
