Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Nadya's mood had been all over the place for the last few days. It was easy for her to brush it off as a result from the lack of sleep from her dance competition road trip. While it have been amazing seeing her Littlez take 2nd in the finals, it had exhausted her and getting the twins back on routine had proven problematic. Micah had taken to coming into their bed in the middle of the night from night terrors that meant Nadya was getting little sleep as well trying to comfort him until he fell back asleep wedged between her and Frost. Sleeping with a kid even 4 years old was dangerous as they were all limbs churning all night. By morning Nadya was dragging herself from bed feeling like death. One thing was sure though as Nadya got the twins ready for preschool, she was craving elotes like nobody's business.
She said goodbye and saw Frost off to wherever it was he disappeared to as she usually did but with the request of taking the twins to preschool for her. Havinig the morning to herself to get ready at her own pace rather than hurry out after the long nights was a great help. It had taken Nadya quite a while to make such request from Frost, asking and taking help when she needed it instead of always insisting on doing everything herself regarding her children.
It wasn't until she was standing at the kitchen island making the market list, jotting down the ingredients for her elotes, that she mused how she hadn't had one or craved one since she was pregnant with the twins. Well...that was interesting and caused her stomach to flutter. Nadya had for quite a while now doubted how accurate Frost's research was when he had said they could have a family. But now...could she be? The young woman pushed aside the list to wander upstairs, listening as the rest of the pack slept soundly in their rooms. Nadya was pretty sure she heard Malia attempt to creep in around 2 this morning shortly after Micah had made his way into their bed. As with Frost, as long as she came back in one piece, she never bothered her packmates on their activities. Nadya slipped into the master bathroom attached to hers and Frost's room to rummage beneath the sink for that box she knew was still there.
That box of pregnancy tests had sat untouched for months. Those negatives signs once a month having turned her depressed on the matter and resigned to tossing them to the back beneath the sink. Now here she was sitting in the bathroom trying very hard not to look at that stick for the designated amount of time for it to develop. As soon as her phone alarm went off she leapt up from the edge of the tub and hurried over to the sink. Positive. That blue plus sign caused her hope to immediately lift.
Her day seemed like a blur after that. She had made a stop into her doctor and gotten an ultrasound to confirm. With that image of the screen in her mind now she was elated and couldn't help herself from stopping into a baby store to grab a few things. It was early, she knew that, but the joy was too much to ignore. Nadya had picked up the twins early from school and after taking them to the park had gone back home. Now it was just time to wait for Frost. Today was supposed to be another lesson for the twins on riding so he was supposed to be home by 4.
Nadya knew the twins were horrible secret keepers, having seen the baby things and now knew about the baby, so sent them upstairs to get changed for their riding lesson. Nadya however curled her legs under her to the side as she waiting on the couch, clutching a mug of tea between her hands and a little gift bag sitting on the coffee table in front of her. She certainly couldn't just tell Frost about the pregnancy. No, she had come up with a way to announce it a different way.
