Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
She was well aware that her belief may not be something he agreed with. After all she was stating she did not believe his Father's talents. It was natural for a child to be protective of their parents. Of course she would not defend her parents' actions. The lupine knew that what they did was heinous and should have never happened. Besides, if anyone had the gift to see into the future wouldn't they do some good, or at least, any good to make the world a better place? That particular task was probably not something one person could take care of, one person couldn't make that big of a difference. Shaking her head she sipped her teak after assuring the man that she didn't think he was lying to her. Dorian was one of the few people she trusted other than her pack and the beloved witch she was connected with. He was not the type to lie to her, he was far too good, maybe a bit too good. At least that was a trait the two could share. When she was living in the Ark and helping out with the bets and fights for the first few nights, Jackal came to her, attempting to help her. He was kind to her, friendly even, but she never forgot his gentle warning, that she needed to learn how to steel herself, because her kindness might get her in trouble. Slowly the she-wolf learned how to be kind, but not enough so that it could be used against her. Sometimes the best lessons are the ones that get you burned.
It was Matteo's assurance that he had seen into her future that she would be a Mother that bothered her immensely. The idea of actually being a Mother terrified her, and why shouldn't it? Being responsible for herself was easy, being a responsible pack member, familiar, and friend was something she could handle. But the responsibilities of being a Mother, to help raise a pup into an adult? That responsibility was a completely different thing. Her doubts in herself to being a good Mother was there, and it only intensified. Back then she never dreamt of having a husband or child. Honestly she didn't really dream about a better future. Rather she hoped that one day she would be accepted by her pack that they would look past her curse and start seeing she was worth something. Unfortunately, that never happened and instead they suffered the consequences from their atrocious actions. She should be able to dream now. The possibilities in her life were endless and yet she didn't plan for anything in the future. Instead she took each day one at a time. The goal in her life was simple, to be a good wife, pack member, familiar, and friend. Motherhood wasn't in there. Although it was still a possibility that she should start thinking about now that she knew it was something to happen in the future, maybe. After she did her fretful pacing and returned to her seat, she looked down at her hand seeing Dorian lay his warm fingers against her own. A small frown appeared as her eyes narrowed, muttering gruffly.
Really this wasn't the time for him to be cheeky and correct, he was supposed to be supportive here. Her eyes went back to his fingers still resting over her own. She couldn't recall a time when he touched her before. She didn't mind it, but it was a bit odd, at least it was in her opinion. With a heavy sigh she shook her head as her blue-grey eyes lifted to meet his grey gaze. Quietly she listened and nodded when he asked his questions. Yes, she did know how to love, how to accept and receive it. Although she doubted that a child would only ask that she love it, surely the child will ask for other things. Worriedly she bit her lip, uncertain about it all still. The King of Italy was correct on his statement that there would always be single women raising their own child. That idea frightened her. Of course her pack would be there to support her, but it wasn't their child, it wasn't their entire responsibility either...was it? Gently she took her hand away from his, using it to tug her fingers on her other hand, twisting them worriedly. Muttering softly she looked at her wedding ring, one thumb running over it affectionately.
Raven knew she was revealing a bit too much information. But why did that matter? Earlier their conversation went around that personal topic. After being together for years she thought by now they would at least be expecting. Perhaps she wasn't capable of producing a child. Their animal instincts helped influence them to finding a mate that was strong, pretty and healthy. A male looked for a female that was capable of bearing offspring. A female looked for a male that was capable of providing and protecting. Tobias was able to do these things and a whole lot more. She wasn't holding up to that unspoken arrangement. Of course he wouldn't leave her, but what about his leopard side? The man was driven by his natural instincts. Raven knew he wouldn't leave her, she knew this, and yet she questioned that spotted feline. If she did have a child it would be surrounded by many good people, including the King of Italy. The idea of the Fae King being there to be a good role model brought a small smile to her face, he would be very good. Although he was a bit flamboyant and extravagant. The last thing she needed was for her children to obtain that particular characteristic.
