Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

There's a ghost on the horizon

Often enough Cole would wake up first, but this morning I'd actually been awake for around 10 minutes before Cole began to stir. I hadn't felt like getting up quite yet, and as I felt him move beside me, I closed my eyes softly and pretended to be asleep. I knew he'd go make the coffee first thing, and the thought of smelling it while still curled in bed just seemed like a good morning to me. Breathing softly, I waited for him to leave the room, I then turned over a bit, listening to him in the kitchen. I smiled, the sort of soft smile you get without thinking about it, when your life presents you with tiny, perfect moments.

Cole and I hadn't been back together long, but we always melded right back into a routine as if no time had ever passed between us. Granted, his beard changed from time to time, but his eyes...oh, those blue crazy eyes, they never changed. Everyone has their kryptonite, and mine was this mans eyes, the way he looked at me, it was like he saw through the flesh and into the soul, grabbing it..owning it with everything he was, and it was such a sensual, and safe place for me to be, I never slept so well as when he was with me. This little apartment was our world, and the outside was nothing more than a distraction.

My mind ran away often, and right now it was laced with dreams of a future, of a husband who would never leave me, though I knew how naive that was, given the fact him and I hadn't managed to stay together for more than 7 months at a time. A girl has to dream though, right? I realized suddenly that I'd begun to fade back to sleep, I started a bit, but quickly realized that the sound of Cole coming towards the bedroom was what startled me. Easing back into the pillow and closing my eyes, I heard his breathing behind me, and I had to force back a smile. Then I hear him leave again, I realize he'd just been watching me, and this time I can't hold back the grin. I remain motionless though, as I hear him coming back after only a moment; though I can tell he's trying hard to be quiet.

I feel him leaning towards me, and it takes everything I have to not giggle at the touch of his lips against my neck. I open my eyes and begin to turn around to face him, to return his kiss...but before I could even make contact with him, his voice bellows not far from me. "SHIT!" The words fly from my mouth in a fury, I jolt around violently, a hateful look on my face. Of course I hardly see anything between the smirk on his face and the cascade of water in my face. "GOD DAMN YOU COLE!" Now the words sounded unforgiving, but truth was, I was ready to kick his ass, then probably want to drag him back to the bedroom afterwards.

After only a moment to process what had happened, as well as make sure my half asleep limbs didn't fail me, I leaped out of bed, nearly hitting the wall as the sheets tangled up with my feet. This sounded with a loud BUMP against the wall and my shoulder. I quickly got upright and moved stealthily down the hall, unsure where he'd be hiding. Don't you try and coffee your way out this time, I'm going to kick your ass!" I hear him laughing from the living room, so I ease up a bit, knowing he isn't about to jump out at me again. Ignoring his plea of love, instead I reach into the hall closet and grab out a little hand towel. "No truce! Not until I get pay back!" I knew what he was after, but I reacted to slow and before I knew it he already had his soda in hand, though to my advantage, he was now my prisoner.

"Awe, are we trapped?" I stuck my bottom lip out in a mocking expression. Though the fact that my hair was still dripping, and I was standing in nothing more than a black bra and underwear probably wasn't very effective for intimidation. Wielding the white towel, I began to wind it up nice and tight, and slowly began to take aim. "You only have yourself to blame. Now I'm going to be late, and I'll have to tell all the angry Queens it's your fault. I grinned then, my anger washing away into nothing more than childish glee at getting him back. SNAP the towel flung forward like a whip, going right for his thigh.
