Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

every king had a story, of ancient glory, sweetly told

The sudden ringing of Sebastian's mobile was near jarring in the otherwise silent room. Dorian's own thoughts, in that precarious moment, were briefly halted as he waited for his husband to dismiss that call and silence the phone's ring. How hardly the Monarch had so expected that Sebastian might choose to take that call. Here and now! Of all times! Dorian's clear disapproval so prompted an utterance of his husband's name from his lips. That singular word so holding nothing short of shock within its tones and yet Sebastian offered him little more than a singular glance before focusing his attention upon that call. In all the years they had been married Sebastian had never once taken a phone call when they were in discussion with one another. Especially not when that discussion was so very....serious. Perhaps his husband had been spending far more time with this William then he was aware if his manners had lapsed so significantly. Then again, that very call seemed to prompt no small amount of distress within the vampire in turn. Dorian's own disapproval so quickly shifting into a look of concern. Who on earth had called so very late? That call, in the very least, so hardly seemed to last terribly long before Sebastian returned the mobile to his pocket. His husband's gaze remained trained upon the window before his hand lifted to pinch at the bridge of his nose in a sure sign of distress. One followed by that distinctly obscure insistence he need leave for England.

Dorian's own features so shifted to a look of surprise once more. This very moment was so hardly the time to travel. Not when there was so very much left unsaid. The Monarch's very query as to whether or not Sebastian so intended to leave this very night was met with a soft nod of his lovers head as Dorian's own features were only further inclined to frown. Why on earth did they need to travel tonight? Surely it could wait another night or two so that they might come to some agreement over the utter mess that was this business with William? It was the very wording of his lover's sentence, however, that seemed to prompt the Monarch to pause once more. Sebastian having spoken of his intention to travel to England without that utterance of Dorian himself. Surely his husband was not so angry with him as that, was he? They had never once travelled apart. Not in all the time they had been together. How that silence seemed only more pronounced in that moment as a near distinct feeling of...heaviness seemed to settle within Dorian's own chest. One that was hardly inclined to alleviate even as Sebastian insisted he was not angry. In all the years they had known one another Dorian had never truly seen Sebastian angry and yet....perhaps anger was not the right emotion for this moment. Sebastian, he was certain, was displeased with him in the very least. The vampire's assurance so hardly lessened that heaviness within his chest.

That near dreaded silence seemed to fill the room once more before Sebastian so at last seemed to find those words the ringing of the phone had prompted him to forget. The vampire insisting he had forgotten what it was like to be so very alone in the world now that he had so much of his family to surround himself with- along with his court. Dorian's eyes rose but ever so slightly, his lips parting to offer that argument. He was more than twice his husband's age. Did Sebastian truly believe he had ever forgotten what centuries of loneliness had felt like? Those very words however were near halted by Sebastian's own utterance that William was right. That he had failed him when he had not looked for him. Dorian's own head shook near readily then. The Fae King, in the very least, so utterly unwilling to have Sebastian believe he had somehow let down his obscure English companion.

"Why should you have looked for him when he disappeared? It was hardly the first time he had done it, Sebastian. How were you to know this time was any different then the last?"

It was illogical, Dorian was certain and yet Sebastian, in those moments of distress, was nothing short of inclined to be illogical and too- to blame himself for the veritable ills of the world if given any cause to believe he might be at fault. A near rewned spark of irritation towards this William so seemed to settle within the Monarch's thoughts and yet, for now, Dorian so hardly chose to comment upon it as Sebastian so at last turned to face him once more. The vampire insisted he needed to travel to England for Prince Phillips funeral. The Prince had died. That call upon his phone so surely having been the English Crown itself. A near heavy sigh seemed to find its way from the Monarch's lips as Dorian moved to wander back towards his rather broken desk- only to lean heavily agianst it. One hand raised to run through his own hair. This night was an utter...disaster from start to finish.

"I'm sorry, Sebastian. For the loss of His Highness. I will come to England with you. He was a pleasant man, I was fond of him. Even if he painted that car of his an awful green he was so proud off."

A near vague simper so managed to tug at the Monarch's lips at that very memory before Dorian moved to rise from his desk once more. Dorian strode toward that office door then, only to open it once more and lean into the hallway.

"Charles!"
"Yes, your Majesty?"

The manservant was quick to hurry down the hall and toward the monarch, that concern upon his own features clear.

"Sebastian and I are to leave for England tonight, as soon as the jet is able. Please see to those arrangements and have Elizabeth pack for us both. His Highness and I have further business to discuss while preparations are made and- Charles? Could you please bring Sebastian something to drink? Not tea."

That very word was emphasised. Dorian pausing but a moment to assure Charles understood exactly what Sebastian required. That conversation and too, that very trip, would be near impossible if Sebastian did not make at least some effort to return that blood his body had lost in the wake of Williams violent assault. Dorian continued to linger within that doorway then as Charles hurried to see that most potent need met, his gaze but briefly shifting to his lover as Sebastian remained upon the far side of the room.

"Do not say you are fine."

Those words, Dorian was certain, had been very near forming upon his lover's lips.

"I have been married to you long enough, Mon Cher. To know when you are not fine, even without my ability to see the aura around you which is anything other than what might be deemed as 'fine' by any definition."

How Dorian near dared his husband to argue with him! Charles, fortunately, was quick to return, the mansservent holding that glass of blood the Monarch had requested. Just who had donated that drink Dorian so hardly knew, Charles himself perhaps, or Elizabeth, unless the manservant had simply defrosted some supply kept within the freezer. Dorian, in that moment, so hardly cared as he reached to take that glass from Charles only to step back into the office, the door closed behind him. The Monarch moved to cross that room then, the glass determinedly handed to his husband before he moved to take several steps back once more in some effort to respect his lover's comfort.

"You may not desire to talk about this, Sebastian, but I do. And you cannot focus when you are thinking of nothing save how hungry you are. Please. Have something to drink so we might talk about this."

For all his own veritable...frustration with his lovers constant insistence of his own state of 'fineness'. That very care the monarch so felt for his husband was surely clear as well. Dorian was nothing if not attentive to those very needs even in that moment of disagreement between them. It was only once Sebastian had, finally, so lifted that glass to his lips that Dorian allowed his own words to part his lips once more.

"Sebastian, I do not begrudge you having your childhood companion and I understand, very much so, how important that connection to your past is. My distress is taken from the fact that you felt it was acceptable to offer a man, whom is not only of mentally instability, but very, very much in love with you romantically- a position as your personal bodyguard without discussing such a matter with me privately first. You do not, by any means, need to ask my permission to hire any member of our staff but this is not a usual circumstance, Sebastian. Do you truly think it is appropriate to have this man, a man who just stabbed you when distressed, spend so much time alone with you, with us? When he also harbours such feelings for you?"

Dorian paused then, another soft sigh so leaving his lips as his head merely shook.

"Bastian, if a man or woman came into this home and you knew them to be madly in love with me, but also to be of unsound mind, can you truly tell me you would be content with my hiring them as a personal bodyguard or secretary without so much as speaking to you first? Would you truly be comfortable with this person desiring to spend hours alone with me? If you can tell me honestly, Sebastian, that this would cause you no distress or concern then i shall not say another thing agianst William."
