Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Troy's encouraging words were all that kept her anxiety to a minimum. Perhaps Kit would love her for getting Troy to finally settle down. While Amelia had never been one to demand a marriage and a family with a house and car and good life, she was thankful she was getting to experience it with Troy. She didn't think she would ever find someone like him. So when she found Troy, he stole her heart almost immediately.

Troy's encouragement that she and Sam would get along well doing womanly things had her laughing almost uncontrollably. "I've never knit a day in my life." But a book club? That she could get on board with. She'd always loved reading, even from a young age. "I know I can be intimidating to your kind...I just hope she can look past that." It had taken Amelia a long time to be able to curb her thirst for the sweet fairy blood. But she was able to control herself with a discipline most would envy. Hopefully they would see that.

As the doorbell rang, Amelia tried to calm her nerves, to make it seem like this was just another day. She wanted everything to be perfect because today was not just another day. Today she was meeting Troy's brother and his family. It was a big day for them. The women meeting each other for the first time while the men strengthened the bond of brotherhood.

As they all filed into the drawing room, Amelia was quick to move behind the bar, asking what they all wanted to drink. At Kit's request of rum and coke, she nodded her head softly as she reached for a glass. She poured a shot of top shelf rum and filled the small glass with soda on tap. He handed it to him as her eyes turned to the next person.

But it was Troy's playful words that had her glaring in his direction. Did all men like to talk about their conquests together? The idea that he was implying that she wore him down sexually had her wanting to blush (if she could blush). She had always been adventurous but she hadn't though the whole world needed to know about it.

Instead, she focused on making his double jack and coke, sliding it over to him. "You better be happy I love you." There was a playful glint in his eye, something suggestive that perhaps he would be the only one to understand. She was not opposed to punishing him when their guests left for the night...

Having not forgotten Sam's request to call her Sam, Amelia turned to her next. "...and Sam, would you like it with or without alcohol?" Amelia would not judge the woman at all for a real margarita. She understood that life's stressors could easily make one wish for a stiff drink. Amelia couldn't stop thinking about calling her Sam. It still felt so informal, but she supposed if they were going to be friends, then they would need to try to be less formal and more informal...more friend-like. She supposed Sam it was.

Amelia could appreciate the comment about the sap, knowing that it was far too sappy for even her own liking. But, she understood that Troy was only trying to get in her good graces if she were going to allow him to have his way with her later.

But it was Sam's question that had her smiling softly as she worked at creating both Sam's margarita and her own martini. "Let's just say pregnancy was not my finest moments." Despite the fact that the pregnancy progressed much rapidly than normal, she felt as though everything was twice as difficult. "I don't know if you were aware, my pregnancy was very rapid. I went through all the normal changes, just twice as fast. But the scariest part was finding out I was even pregnant. My...species isn't exactly known for childbearing." A pregnant vampire was unheard of. No one had ever thought that they could reproduce like normal. But it had happened and it was certainly not a fun thing to experience.

Handing Sam her drink, Amelia grabbed her own and moved to take a seat on a settee next to the crackling fire. "You're welcome to ask questions. I'll try my best to answer them honestly." She offered a small smile to her before she looked over to the men in the room. "I hope the drive was alright and you didn't get lost. Sometimes Siri has no idea how to get to our home." Hopefully the drive had been uneventful...at least then something would go right tonight.
