Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

deep breath in and i come alive, it's a feeling i'll remember for the rest of my life
~ ~ ~ ~

Even in that moment so wrapped up in the embrace of love and tenderness, the fae woman knows... She feels how the depths of his words as they expressed a sense of remorse for what was, in this moment, simply a point in her life where Fate had decided to show its true intentions for the blue-eyed woman went so much further than the reflection within his hazel gaze that soft baby blues could see. Things could have just as easily been entirely different. She could have perished on that stone table in the dark, damp cellar somewhere in the desolate countryside between the city and her small rural hometown. She could have spent the rest of eternity wandering those endless golden fields, the heart within her chest never to beat again, crisp morning air never to fill her lungs, baby blue eyes closed to the world forevermore. She would have died with his name the last thing to flicker across her thoughts before they, too, fell away a sea of eternal stillness. Had Andras not found her when he did, she would have lost everything. Her parents, her friends, and the one she'd never been able to stop loving even when her heart had been broken, shattered into pieces that Lani had once believed to be far beyond any hope of being put back together. And, despite those days and nights of utter anguish where the fae woman had been certain she wanted nothing more than to forget it all, she now believes that there had been something deeper than all the heartache and feelings of absolute devastation which never truly wanted to leave behind the way he'd made her feel time and time again... never really sought to forget what life had been like when she'd allowed her heart to lead her down the path that her mind had so often and so very determinedly tried to keep her from following.

Despite three years of soul-deep emptiness and heart-wrenching pain, beneath every glistening tear she'd cried and every silent wish for sanctuary from the nightmares and memories, there'd been a hidden part of herself unknowingly clinging desperately to those last remaining embers of the love she felt for him.

If there was one thing Lani had come to understand during those years of despair and simply trying to keep herself from drowning in the emotions always one delicate moment away from swallowing her completely, it was that learning to let go was one of the hardest things any soul could ever endure. Still, Lani was struggling with this, although it was far from apparent as the fae woman willingly and wholly surrendered herself to this moment and nothing beyond it. For the first time in longer than she can remember, Lani felt only warmth and bliss under the loving gaze of Andras. It was as though the storm she'd been fighting against all this time had finally broken with only clear skies and sunlight on every horizon rather than dark, ominous cloud cover and unrelenting, cold rain she'd once thought to be her new eternal reality. Now, as her slender hand lingers upon the fae man's cheek before slender fingers slip into his tousled, dark hair with gentle reassurance all while soft baby blues blink slowly up to him, Lani can see uncertainty flickering so very briefly within his dark hazel gaze and she finds herself silently wishing for a way to genuinely convince him that he didn't need to fret over something that could never be taken back or changed. How she wanted more than words could ever say for his own heart to feel the same sense of peace that hers was slowly but surely beginning to find as the fae woman begins to realize that she'd only ever needed to let go of all that she'd been trying to suppress and smother in every sense. In a way, there was something endearing in how he seemed to grieve for what she'd lost. Although she remembers having seen the despair in him before, she hadn't imagined in three years' time that he would still bear some semblance of guilt or remorse.

And yet, as she was beginning to find that her time for mourning what had been lost felt as though it was ending, Lani hopes whole-heartedly that his, too, would cease with time. It was time that those days were finally laid to rest, left to remain in the past rather than allowing them to linger like heavy, foreboding shadows in the present.

Truthfully, the fae woman would have been content at the idea of staying in that bed with him for the next two days. She was entirely prepared to surrender herself to each moment lost in his arms, beneath him, caught in the fires of desire and passion that Andras ignited within her. Even as they linger in the embrace of tender affection, the creature within Lani was still entirely aware of him, despite the figurative content that has it very nearly purring at his touch... and sighing with dissatisfaction a moment later as he leaves the fae woman in his bed. Although the distance between them hardly lasted longer than a breath as he returns with that warm, dampened cloth, it was felt all the same by that part of her that seemed to crave him at the mere thought of any space existing between them. The longer they lingered in that bedroom, the less likely that she would want to leave it, the very idea of existing beside him between silken sheets in every possible sense utterly pleasing to Lani. As though he felt those very odds of making it to the kitchen somewhere below them slipping away, the fae man moves away to clothe himself despite her impish teasing. She can hardly keep the impish curiosity at exactly how little restraint he had in this moment, that ever-bold side of Lani all too keen on wanting to test those frayed threads simply because she could, all while knowing that the predator in Andras would surely take great pleasure from the fae woman wrapping herself around his tall, strong frame. Baby blue eyes blink coyly under long, dark lashes as Lani lingers on the edge of his bed, content - for now - to watch as he slipped into those sweatpants that she would steal should he let her. His threat towards whatever clothing she dared to cover herself with bringing an impish giggle from the fae woman.

He disappears then, his steps becoming distant as he moves down the stairs and into the ground floor of the townhouse. Lani hesitates for only a heartbeat before shuffles through oak dresser drawers, slips into the white button-down shirt that she hopes would survive the next hour or so, and leaves the bedroom to follow after Andras.

Descending those stairs and setting her gaze upon the strong, bare back of the fae man, large wings folded nearly so that they were secure and out of the way, she admires him for a moment. How... comforting it was, seeing him exist in his natural form, hiding not even the deep scars that etched themselves into his skin. She can't explain why it was that seeing him this way felt right, settled something within herself she'd kept hidden since her world changed, but gently Lani pushes these thoughts away and allows that impish smile to dance upon her lips as she asks after his thoughts of her chosen attire - or lack of, as it were. There's a wave of satisfaction seeming to burn in his gaze, but she doesn't wait to hear his answer then, entirely keen on continuing that game they always seemed to play with one another. His laughter was like thunder in a summer storm, powerful yet pleasing upon her delicately pointed ears, changing to something entirely sensual as he remarks about the side of her that he brought out. When he tells her what it was that he was preparing for them, he takes a step closer and bumps his hip against her slender frame as he declares her a distraction and purrs down to her in what was hardly a threat. If anything, she feels the imp within growing bold beneath his words of having to pause in preparing that midnight meal."You say that like it would be a bad thing", she purrs in silken, sultry words back to the fae man, a playful pout upon her lips though she can hardly keep away a mischievous smile. She can feel the cool touch of his shadows upon her calves then, a touch that was almost as pleasing as the fae man's own hands. Content to comply, the blue-eyed blonde moves to the other side of the bar and slips gracefully into the tall chair.

Placing her elbows on the granite counter tops and resting her chin upon one hand, blonde hair cascading over slender shoulders, Lani watches him as he resumes chopping the vegetables on the wooden cutting board. She wonders then what it would be like to cook a proper meal with him, or if they would even manage without getting... distracted.

Lani was content to simply watch him as he worked, but when he moves toward the fridge to retrieve a container of noodles, his sudden question has baby blue eyes widening in surprise and a sense of sudden realization. She shudders ever so slightly at the idea of her father finding out about tonight, about discovering that the fae man was once again part of her life."I don't even want to think about him finding out", she replies, the very idea almost horrifying in a sense."But, if he did, I'm almost entirely certain he'd want your head on a spike", she adds as baby blues watch the fae man add the noodles and continues cooking, those rich aromas filling the air. It wasn't until this very moment that she begins to realize that this was going to have to be yet another part of her life she would need Ellie not to breathe a word about...'Here's to hoping they don't call over the weekend'... Making a sweeping gesture with her other hand, she's figuratively and physically brushing away these thoughts of what would need to happen after this weekend was over."Anyway, it's not like he needs to know", she says casually, now having to shove away the nagging thought of the man discovering Andras. That was certain to dampen the mood, and she was far from ready to go back to reality. For the time being, she wanted to believe that the world existed only for her and the fae man. In this moment, Lani didn't want to think about what 'what if's, the questions Ellie would assault her with, or anything in-between. Only a moment or two passes before Andras moves away from the pan to find two bowls and filling them with the pan-fried noodles, vegetables, and spices. It was then, as he sets the bowl in front of her, that Lani finally notices how hungry she actually was.

Happy to leave the subject of her parents behind, at least for the moment since she knows all too well that this was in fact something she would have to address at some point, delicately pointed ears catch his words. Lifting her gaze up to his, the fae man gives her a wink and Lani can hardly help the daring smile upon her lips.

"Well, you must have been quite the troublemaker as a young boy then, because this looks amazing", the fae woman says cheekily, a girlish giggle following her words. For a moment, she tries to imagine what he might have been like as a child, what sort of trouble he would get into. She makes a note to herself that she would need to spend some time with Ida, ask after his childhood and see what sort of stories the older woman would be willing to share with Lani."So, what kind of mischief do I need to get into for you to give me a lesson or two in cooking like this?", she purrs, her voice sultry and the fae man turns and moves back towards the fridge. For a fleeting moment, she allows herself to imagine the two of them in his kitchen, perhaps wearing little more than an apron. Where the thought comes from, she hardly knows nor does she care. Somehow, it seemed almost natural to think of... Andras returns with sparkling wine, pouring two glasses and offering her one, a slender hand readily taking one from him, baby blue eyes glittering. It is when they clink their glasses together, his words immediately following that sound, that Lani blinks."To us", she echoes, her smile softening. She wants to ask if he intended those words to mean what she thought, but instead he speaks before she can ask, and just like that her question is pushed gently aside as he flashes her a wicked simper. It could wait. They had all weekend together, after all."Says the one who very nearly ravaged me that night in the hot spring under a sky full of Somnia stars", she purrs back in turn, her teasing words entirely daring with a coy smile, her voice sultry as she takes a forkful of stir-fry into her mouth, although her gaze remains rested upon Andras as if to say "you know I'm right".
