Anacosta Heights
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
It wasn't hard for her to notice that near surprised look upon Sebastian's face as she spoke. Despite how well he worked to maintain that well crafted exterior, she had centuries of observation on her side. And yet, there was little way she could have eased into alerting him of her lucidity. Anna-Marie could simply continue on to explain why she was there, to offer those words of both acknowledgement and atonement. By the end of it she expected Sebastian to end the meeting so it was rather surprising when he requested answers. Long and difficult answers. A simper of a smile crossed her features, "That is...a long story indeed." The child vampire smoothed the back of her dress as she settled back into a chair, indicating for Sebastian to be seated as well if he so desired those answers.
Those cerulean eyes cast down to her hands folded in her lap for a moment, "The answer starts at the very beginning. When I was Turned it was during the Great Plague and it was believed that my family was dead. There was no reason to think otherwise with over half the continent falling to the disease. Centuries passed, I built my manor and lived quite well for what it was worth. My human life was long forgotten...until I saw her.." Anna's gaze lifted, only to drift over to look out the nearby window at the well manicured garden outside. "She was the spitting image of my elder sister. It was clearly impossible...and yet there she stood. To say it took me by surprise would be an understatement. My first mistake was growing too curious and having Ceara find out more. What she found out was that my elder sister, who had been married off to a Lord, had indeed survived and went on to continue the line. I found it hard to stay away from her, following her, learning about her. Hannah, she was barely twenty-five, a school teacher, dating a wonderful man...and dying."
"Cancer...simple cancer, but a death sentence back then. I never wished to place this sort of life on another, but as you know, the will to survive even in any form can be stronger than even the greatest self-loathing. I had Ceara bring Hannah to the manor where I presented the option to her. The fear of true death...well she accepted. I Turned her that very night. No one else in the manor knew of her existence, her ties to me in blood both familial or vampire- at least that's what I thought. There had been a vampire that came a few weeks prior seeking asylum. I had been so distracted by the news of Hannah that I hadn't put much thought into accepting him into the Coven. It turned out that he was from another Coven and he somehow found out about Hannah. There was an attack on the manor and in the chaos they grabbed Hannah. By the time I made it out of the manor it was collapsing and the entire other Coven was waiting outside and she was tied to a pyre. I was...I was forced to watch as they burned her alive." Anna's hands clenched into fists, twisting the fabric of the dress on her lap. "You hear about the bond between sire and childe but it's another thing entirely to feel it. The pain and absolute torture of it being ripped away like that, feeling like it was me on that pyre with her." Anna's eyes closed at that difficult memory. "It was like a black hole was left in its place and it was too great."
The child vampire turned her attention back to Sebastian, "That side that was left was pure instinct alone. It took those memories and buried them along with my control. It wasn't until I recently saw the vampire who burned her that it all came flooding back. He is very dead now along with his Master. And then I decided to come back here...to see you." Though Sebastian's Turning hadn't been intentional like her last, she was still connected to him just the same. She was sure that it was a lot of information to absorb though. "I cannot say whether this is temporary or not. I can only assume that since the last was caused by Hannah's true death, that we're fine in that regard. As for the manor- well I decided to stay a while here in Sacrosanct instead. I've bought property on the other end of town and plan to rebuild there."
