Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
There was little, Sly had decided, that could be 'expected' when it came to Harley. The raven haired woman seemed entirely inclined to be unpredictable in every sense. Harley seemed to almost enjoy his own sarcastic if not dry humor in a way most women were inclined to ignore- or find themselves baffled by. Harley, in turn, seemed inclined to rise to that challenge. More so then he had anticipated. At least- he had hardly anticipated that she might kiss him back so suddenly and with far more passion then he had expected. Enough to prompt the ROmanian to forget about that pole at his back, about the woman he'd teased her over, about the bathroom that still needed fixing. She was good at this. The taste of her lips was nothing short of...incredible. A taste Sly was hardly willing to give up as his hand settled on her waist, drawing her closer, deepening that very kiss as he returned it. Te gypsy, in that moment, inclined to forget the very evening around him as that want for more began to tug almost fervently at him. That desire to run his hands upward and beneath her shirt- to feel each curve of her figure beneath his hands was...tempting. That kiss was broken far too soon, Sly left momentarily blinking in surprise as Harley stepped away. Her goal evidently completed to her satisfaction as her hand lifted slowly from his chest. The absence of that warmth was clearly felt as she pivoted on her heel in a way that was almost flawlessly feminine. Spitfire, he had decided, would have been an excellent middle name for her.
Mihai, clearly delighted to be moving once more, easily raced forward to join her- his flaming figure lighting the way as Sly near hurriedly moved to follow after her. That frown of surprise hardly lingered long as he fell into step beside her. The Romanian hardly willing to be bested by her tonight even if that very tease with nothing more than good natured. Sly readily fell into step beside the young woman then, his arm effortlessly looping through her own. That very gesture was near age old in its affection and yet perhaps a touch...protective in turn. Even with Mihai to light the shadows ahead. It felt nice to have her beside him. Sly hardly opposed to being seen with a woman like her on his arm as they moved through the parklands. Harley's insistence that he was showing his hand too early prompted a ready grin to the blond's features, Sly chuckling softly as he uttered her name in return- only to insist that sleight of hand was, well, kind of his thing. If he had shown that metaphorical hand then it was because he had intended to. How readily those words seemed to coax a look of contemplation to the woman's features as she queried whether he had meant to get a rise from her. That distinctly impish grin so hardly faded from the gypsy's features, his shoulders lifting in a teasing shrug.
"It made kissing you even more unexpected didn't it? If i'd been talking about how hot you looked you'd have anticipated something."
That good natured grin so hardly faltered, the pair strolling almost leisurely back through that park then with Mihai ahead. The walk back to harley's apartment nothing short of....comfortable in every sense. The night air, after all, had a way of being far more....refreshing than the day. Harley easily unlocked that apartment, Sly gently releasing her arm as they stepped inside. Only to be greeted with Ace's exuberance as if the pair had thought to abandon him entirely. A small simper found its way to Sly's features as harley reached tor ub the dogs ears- only for Ace to hurriedly grasp his treasured toy- placing it at Mihai's feet. Sly allowed one eye to lift in surprise, the warlock eyeing that interaction with curiosity- only for Miahi to abruptly shift forms. His flaming familiar taking on the form of a Romanian Wolf. His size was now easily comparable to the Shepherds' own. That 'battle' far more even now as Mihai reached down to take that toy before abruptly leaping into the living room, squeaking that toy with glee as he went. Sly's eyes rolled lightly as Ace bounded off after him, the pair left to their own devices as Sly shut the door behind Harley and himself. A resounding -crash- echoing through the room a moment later as Sly glanced back toward the living room. The canines undoubtedly having knocked something over as he glanced back toward Harley, a light chuckle humming within his throat.
"I'm not that good at fixing furniture unfortunately."
That warm simper tugged at his lips once more. If those dogs had broken something then it was surely in the hands of fate as far as Sly was concerned. Sly moved to settle in that shower recess then as Harley sat herself on the sink- much as they had done on their first meeting. Exactly how or why Harley had chosen to put a sword through her own shower still remained to be seen and yet- with the obscurities that seemed to follow the raven-haired woman like her own shadow perhaps he should hardly have questioned it. It was easy enough to prepare that grout, sly neatly pressing the first tile onto the wall with a careful, practiced precision. He had promised to do those repairs for her and he fully intended to do it well. The warlock was nothing if not serious when it came to his work. Despite that well-intact sense of humor that lingered beneath. It was, however, that veritable sense of humor that seemed to present itself in that moment as Sly pressed a second tile neatly to the wall- only to use a single finger to drag is askew. That tile was left sitting in a clearly incorrect position on the wall as his blue gaze turned to meet Harley's own. He could fix that tile, he supposed, if she agreed to see him again. Harley was quick to insist her tiles had done nothing to deserve such treatment. Her near iconic sarcasm returned as Sly chuckled softly once more.
Harley slipped easily off the counter then, the woman easily approaching him only to place her hand over his, her fingers shifting agianst his own to straighten that wayward tile. There was, after all, surely not a person alive capable of looking at a tile so out of place in any otherwise undisturbed line. Harley shifted back then, the woman seeming to frown in contemplation as Sl's gaze remained on her- before she announced she had one condition to a second date.
"Alright..."
There was a distinct sense of wariness to the warlock's own voice. Sly assured that the condition was bound to be something unexpected. A momentary silence seemed to exist between the pair then before Harley announced that she wanted to choose that location. Unless he was scared. One eye rose upward in clear surprise at that offered challenge- just as another bang echoed from within the living room followed by the excited squeaks of that toy.
"As long as it isn't that Syn place again then sure, I'll let you pick."
Sly reached down to pick up another tile, pressing it gently into place beside the others before a contemplative sound seemed to part his lips.
"I'm not scared, you know. Concerned maybe. But being scared and being concerned aren't the same thing."
How readily that grin seemed to find him then, his words a distinct tease once more before his gaze returned to her.
"Are you going to tell me where we are going then?"
sly.
