"There is no need to attempt to kill me with your mind I assure you. As I said, I will not harm your daughter."
He sees no need to inform her of his own powers against her manipulation as he continues to hold the child easily, allowing the infant girl to nestle herself softly against the hard plains of his chest and side, allowing that continual thrum of pleasing heat to emanate from within and sooth the child into slumber- waiting for both kittens to cease their cries before he saw any need to answer any of the questions the slender, dark-haired woman posted towards him as she perched herself upon the chair of the arm with the male child held against her. It was not illogical he supposed, for her to have produced two infants. Unlike his own species felines were known for their litters as opposed to a single infant and yet just how such infants had come about still remained unknown to him. The only felines he knows of within the city are Tetradore and his spotted companion- the former being her brother leaving only the latter and yet his brief encounter with Tobias had allowed him to formulate the opinion that the boy had the mental capacity of bread stick, even if a powerful one- Tobias of interest to him purely because of that power and yet for now he allows his mind to wander back towards the conversation at hand. Hmm, what a pleasing little family scene this would make.
For a moment longer he simply pauses to consider the question she has posed to him, what remains visible of his violet gaze drifting down to rest upon the child in his arms once more. Nadya was perhaps the more intelligent of her species, at least as far as her pack was concerned, the girl having already proven to have a clever mind and a sharp wit, valuable things, truly, and yet easily used against him should she desire it so- each word he offers carefully placed despite the nonchalance with which they are spoken. His shoulders shrug slightly, careful not to jostle the child as he does, ever cool lyrics spilling smoothly from his lips.
"I am intent on making a pack, Nadya, because by very nature of our species I am inclined to do just that. As much as I enjoy separating myself from my animal form I am, by design, a herd creature. I am not opposed to the company of others and I see no need not to find those of like mind to share my time with."
What answer had she truly expected from him other than that which she could surely deduce herself? The words he offers however, are nothing short of the truth, any Were seeks pack regardless of his species, though others, by nature of that species are driven to seek it more fervently. Her second question is much akin to her first, if not slightly more points, lip lifting into a shadow of a simper- admiring her astute mind once more before he offers another reply.
"Before I came to this city, this country, I had a pack- a rather substantial one and I miss both that companionship- to an extent and the power that comes with it. You seek pack because your instincts tell you your children will be better protected, I seek pack for other reasons and yet in the end I can gain more with others then I can gain on my own- just as you. There is both strength and safety in numbers."
His words are cryptic to an extent and yet honest all the same, well-spoken in their clarity and shaded nature all at once- the man's words no less cunning then her own, even if laid out beneath a veil of what appears as nothing more than honesty. The smile that lingers briefly upon his lips, dancing there almost teasingly, seems to indicate as much as he regards the young woman once more.
"As for the love my parents never provided I assure you, despite evidently popular opinion, I never lacked for a such thing. I was not close with my father but I was one of more than thirty of his offspring so I hardly expected to be noticed amongst them. My Mother however, was perhaps the single most exceptional woman I have ever met or ever will meet. I was her only child and there was nothing she would not do for me. Not all that juicy now was it? Surely you can do better then that Nadya, hmmm?"
He simply chuckles once more, teasingly, aware of the manner in which he has so derailed her sarcasm- very near daring her to find a more difficult question for him to answer. He leans further back upon the couch, Isabella still comfortably asleep in the warmth of his power-tainted embrace- the man seemingly unconcerned with the child, very near content in her company as if he is used to such a thing and perhaps he is, the girl settling against his chest once more as thick locks of snowy white tumble back into his gaze. The man speaking suddenly once more.
"I believe Nadya, I can provide for you and your children far more than your brother. That man, quite frankly, seems to care only about his spotted leopard friend and no one else. Does anyone in that pack even assist you with your children? Do you truly believe that dump of a boat is a place to raise them or keep them safe? Is this little apartment truly where you want them to grow? Your potential and theirs is being wasted."
His words remain entirely smooth, easy, delivered with a perfect unfaltering calm despite that barbs within them. He sees no need to lie to the woman, she surely already knows of his intentions and she is intelligent enough perhaps to perceive why he scraps at her most obvious weakness now- her children. Yet his points are valid all the same, whether she wishes to see them or not.
"If you wish to stay with them, then I will respect that choice and say no more on it- at least for tonight..."
He was hardly willing to give up on the woman however, her potential value far too high to merely let her waste away. Such a pretty thing she was too.
"But my offer stands all the same, think about it, at least."
