Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

living like we're renegades

long live the pioneers
rebels and mutineers

It was fairly sparse inside the apartment; she didn't guess he had been here too long then. A newcomer like herself, she thought as the corner of her lip quirked up into a smile. He was a human so she doubted the same things which had drawn her to the quietly famous city were why he had come. Did he even know what lurked outside these thin walls? He had barely wavered before inviting her into his home, a feat that could prove far more dangerous with less docile creatures such as herself if he wasn't careful. Was he totally unaware or simply overly trusting? She wasn't sure which one might be worse for his health. Still, living next door she could always intercede if his nature put him in a tight spot, a very high sense of hearing and her ability to undoubtedly claw through these paper-like walls in a minute would hopefully be enough to get him out of any real trouble.

Catching her thoughts as his mumbles words came to her from the refrigerator's cavernous depths she mentally shook her head. Talk about over eager, her she was planning to save him when she didn't even know his name yet. Her misplaced sense of trust would be her very own undoing one day no doubt; lord knows it had bitten her in the ass before. Still she turned back to him with a smile as she made her introductions, unceremoniously plopping Grayson atop the permanently laminate countertop, perhaps they came pre-stained like that seeing as her own bore similar marks. If he had an issue with the tabby atop his counters he could tell the intrusive cat that himself. "I can give you a pass on tonight, considering the circumstances," she said with mock seriousness alleviated by the smile on her sculpted lips.

Grabbing the offered cup from him, perhaps a bit too eagerly, she raised it and tilted the rim so it connected silently with his own; paper cups not known for their clinking abilities after all. "To second impressions," she echoed before tipping the cool liquid back. She downed the entire thing at once, almost like a shot finishing with a happy sounding 'ah' before looking back at her new companion with a slightly sheepish grin. Milk might be an odd choice of a nightcap for most, but to her it was as good as a fine wine. She wondered if he had noticed as he walked from the kitchen and back into the living room complete with an obviously salvaged collection of furniture. Her body pivoted to follow him as Grayson sat back, licking intently at his paws with his own bowl of milk finished.

Her feet were silent as she crossed the apartment, flopping down rather unceremoniously atop the over-stuffed love seat, but then again she was never one for much pomp and circumstance unless she had ulterior motives. "Thanks, I suppose we could do with a bit of company for the evening." Not that she had anything better to be doing at the moment necessarily, but there was no need to say that to him. Her bright, hazel eyes flicked back to the tabby cat as he jumped down from the counter and padded toward them as well. "That, is Grayson," she said pointedly, laughter in her voice as the tabby began to wind his form around Ivan's legs, crying to be picked up. She shook her head, strewing wisps of blonde hair about, that cat had more personality than most people she knew. "He adopted me. Showed up on the fire escape during a rain storm so I let him in, and he has yet to ask to leave. I'm not sure this place even covers animals, but they can be the ones to tell him that."

Part of her was sure the cat had come from some other family, what with how friendly he was, or maybe it was her own feline scent that had drawn him. Either way it had been his decision to find her and she was fine with the companionship. "So how long have you been here? Big plans?" One sculpted eyebrow raised scrupulously at her questions, good conversation that might still tell her more about this new neighbor.
