Hawethorn Village

Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

He offers no apologies for his....cooler manner with the girl. Coddling her and holding her hand would hardly help her achieve anything tonight, babying her and allowing her to sob and cry or fill her mind with insecurities of her own making would do nothing other then hamper her now. She would understand in time perhaps, perceive his actions for the kindness they were- hidden though it was. He sees no need to offer her anything other than factual assurance, simple instruction and a one minded view of the task ahead of her now. There was no need to complicate such things with her emotions or fears. There would be time, later, to deal with such matters and perhaps for now she would merely perceive him as uncaring or commanding and yet he holds no issue with that. He is offering her, for now, a black and white view of her new world- there would be time to focus on the grey of it later. In this moment, at least, it was better that she understood and focused only upon a singular target- standing- while observing his rule. No else needed to exist in the world at this moment- he is keeping her world simple and focused and perhaps one day she may very well thank him for it. To many thoughts all at once would see her do no more then lie and sob on the ground and he has no patience for that. A horse on the ground is vulnerable and he hardly sees need to waste a creature with potential by allowing her to calm to harm through an inability to stand.

Her first attempt is as decidedly poor as he had anticipated it would be, the girl crashing down onto her chest, straw flying about as the towering pale war horse merely stands by, tail lashing at his flanks though he remains silent for now, merely continuing to watch her subsequent efforts. Her attempts are far from graceful and yet he offers no words of hindrance, continuing to watch all the same until she manages, at last, to stand- like a splayed deer on ice. A sigh of sorts vibrates within his nostrils, a harsh release of air as he strides forward once more to stand beside her, abruptly lifting his left hindimbs.

You will fall down, I am sure, but each time you try you will fall down less until you can manage to walk in the least. You have four legs now as opposed to two. Four legs move differently to two and depending on what gait you are attempting to move out they will be different again. Walking is fairly simple, it is a pattern, left hind leg, left front leg, right hind leg, right front leg. Trotting moves with diagonal pairs of legs, canter has a leading leg and the others follow, to change direction though you must change your lead leg, gallop is an entirely different matter that involves all your limbs at once and yet at one point in your stride, every stride, you entire weight will be balanced on just one limb at a time and to misstep is to break a leg. You will find, in time, that others will take amusement at your animal form- this is because they cannot understand neither how difficult, nor how powerful it truly is when mastered. For now though we are walking and you will find, in time, the other gaits come naturally.

He moves to step forward now, wandering easily away from the girl and towards the other end of the barn, pausing nearby the door as ears prick forward and towards her.

You will need to turn before you walk this way. That is all I am asking of you, turn and walk over to me.
