Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

"I think I would manage if I had to."

Sarcasm, truly, would not see the woman get particularly far, the stoic man content to merely stare at her for several moments yet as she made some effort to defend both her stick-figure drawing and her own creativity as she sat within the chair in his yard in what he can only presume is some form of female attempt at a pout. Why he so often chooses to surround himself with women he hardly knows, difficult creatures they were at the best of times and yet his interest in this particular vixen is assured- the girl finally having had the sense to stop fighting against him and make some effort to unlock even a tendril of the potential she fails to understand exists within her. Such low slf esteem, truly it was unfortunate he had been very near forced to break her down in an effort to reconstruct her in a manner he found far more agreeable. It could only be hoped she would need no further lessons in that regard, some faint slither of a fighting spirit still managing to stir within her as each sharply tossed sentence and yet- just a little spark was far better then nothing at all. He merely needed to maintain that without allowing her any belief she could ever stand against him. Hmm, no, it was far preferable to have her believe in his own indomitable nature. It never did pay to let anyone, women or otherwise, know the full extent of their own powers. She merely needed just enough to actually be of use to him- her final word earning a momentary simper.

"Having me help you is the right idea- it does not mean it is a good one. Right and good, wrong and bad- they have far more then one meaning it depends how you see them. They are subjective."

The words are murmured easily in her direction, tossed almost haphazardly before he moves to step away from her once more, gesturing briefly for Alexis to stand and move away from the chair, arms folding across his lithe, toned form, one violet eye visible for barely a moment beneath that forelock of hair as he regards her.

"You shield works most effectively when you're afraid. Fear is a very primal emotion, we can use that to an extent, harness it if you will. So I'm going to make you afraid- it shouldn't be all that hard."

The momentary simper that alights his lips is hardly a pleasant one, features shifting rapidly back into a look of indifference mere moments later as he continues to watch the vixen before him, gaze drifting lazily across her form, searching for any sign of nervousness of weakness to pick up upon. She would learn soon enough to stop making it so obvious. Perhaps his methods were a little harsh and yet they were effective all the same- Alexis surely due to discover such a thing.

"Your power has been defensive until this point, you defend from attacks. All I want you to do, for now, is turn my attack into your own. I don't want you just to deflect it, I want you to push your shield outward and send the attack back at me. Once you can do that I will show you how I think you can stop an attack before it even starts. Ready then, Baby?"

One hand moves smoothly to reach behind, a soft chuckle of sorts humming within his chest as he produces what is an evidently sizeable knife from his back pocket, rolling it smoothly within his hand, allowing the girl to see every smooth, silver edge and pointed tip. She would either learn to deflect it or she would die trying and truly he sees no great loss in that at this stage. One eye moves to lift, ever so briefly, allowing the woman the barest moment to brace herself before he rather abruptly moves to hurl the dagger at her, another already within his hand almost as if they seem to be appearing from...nowhere, sending them flying at the poor woman with little chance to truly establish herself, quite content to pressure her beneath this barrage until she manages to do exactly as he has asked and not merely deflect, but push at least one knife back towards him. He simply needed to make her afraid enough....angry enough to want to hurt him in a way her nature so seemed to hold her back from. How useful she could be- if only she would get a little more spine. Frost content to simply watch, calmly, as he attempts to induce some state of terrified panic in the woman. How long would it take, he wonders, for her to realise the knives weren't real- that they were entirely harmless, illusions, yet another of his powers and that she was truly in no danger at all, any she deflected seeming to disappear the moment her shield struck them. Why not teach her to use her mind a little as well?

Harsh, perhaps and yet- his methods truly are effective, if nothing else.
