Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Vienna certainly hadn't meant to scare him as she lowered the shades, but it was a necessity that she had to do if she were to stay alive. And quite frankly, Vienna wasn't in the mood to leave this world just yet. She had a house all to herself and no heir to inherit it in the long run. So, she could not die until she found the right person to take over her estate when she was gone. That could take some time, so she had intention of leaving anytime soon. Nah. Nothing could get Vienna to leave this world without a fight.

As the shades lowered and the room grew darker, Vienna pressed another button on her little remote that turned on all the lights in the room. It was a slow and gradual motion. As soon as the shades were completely down and locked in place, the lights were already on, giving the room a slightly different look than the natural light that was there before.

As Vienna bounced to her seat, she couldn't help but look at the interviewee. He seemed rough around the edges, not quite as sophisticated as herself or Patrice. He seemed dirty and as she had already mentioned before, he had a unique natural aroma that she was eager to get a whiff of once he was cleaned up. But he was rather cute. His blond hair was in slight disarray and the way he sat in the chair made him appear uneducated. They were totally different but Vienna said nothing. She couldn't be very picky. That ad had been in the paper for weeks and no one wanted to apply. After all, they would be working for a vampire. No one cared that she was probably the least terrifying vampire on this god forsaken planet.

His comment causes her to chuckle lightly as she smooths out a crease in her dress. She didn't necessarily find his comment rude, just unfiltered. That's okay...Vienna could be unfiltered too...especially after a few drinks herself. "I would love nothing more than to feel the sun on my skin. Unfortunately, it's a fatal mistake I'm not ready to make." In secret, Vienna always thought about what her life would be like now if she had never turned. Would she be able to spend days outside in her courtyard in the pool without a care in the world? Would she be able to go hiking, fishing, and sailing! All these activities could still be done now, but she always imagined what they would be like if she could do them in the sun. But that was a tradeoff with her new life and she had gotten used to it for the most part. It still didn't take away her secret desires...but no one needed to know of those.

But they are back to business quickly and Vienna can feel the uneasiness in his demeanor now. She wants to chuckle, but keeps this to herself. He's uncomfortable and she immediately motions for Patrice to enter and refill his glass. Perhaps a little more alcohol in his system would help him loosen up. "It's quite alright. The busses don't run late anymore." He gives his name, Darien, and Vienna nods. "Patrice mentioned that. Do you have a last name, Darien?" Her voice is soft and chipper as she watches him closely. She can't help but enjoy the uncomfortableness of him. He's nervous and she finds it endearing. He should have noticed that Patrice is human too. And if he really looked closely, he might find a fae or witch on her staff as well. Vienna was an equal opportunity employer.

She asks about his experience, expecting that he had none based on his homeless appearance. And he answered as such. But what she wasn't expecting was the passion within his voice. He wanted this job. He must need it. Pulling out her coin, she flips it into the air. Heads, she sends him packing. Tails, he gets the job, The coin lands in her palm and she quickly deposits it on the back of her hand: Tails. Eyes looked up at him. "So Darien, you have a talent for drawing and singing?" While she didn't have a position that would better fit his talents, he seemed like he could learn how to trim her bushes effectively.

Placing the coin back into the pocket on her dress, she raises her gaze to his. She knows he's checking her out and she can feel the corners of her lips tugging into a smile. She could see herself enjoying his company. He would do well for her. She didn't have any suiters and a girl's got needs. Maybe she could convince him that she wasn't all that bad. "Did you see in the ad that I'm offering living quarters. If you get the job, are you wanting to take advantage of your own quarters? She would tell him the other perks of the job just as soon as she told him that he actually had the job. She liked messing with him. It was rather fun.
