Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Samantha had hardly expected that either of the two Weres would even notice the change in the young woman's demeanor. After all, Aiden was preoccupied with the feline that was curled around him, and Nadya was too concerned with her brother's presence to notice her. She thought she'd be alone to her emotions, so the woman was especially surprised when she felt the footsteps next to her. She didn't look up â€" she didn't have to â€" though she gave a tiny nod at the sound of her own name. She didn't resist his arms wrapping around her, nor did she resist being pulled into his lap. If anything, she helped move herself, her body settling against the man's chest. Her sniffles seemed ridiculous, really, even more so when he commented that he would buy her a new bed and a new table. The faerie shook her head, raising the edge of the quilt draped around her shoulders to wipe at her eyes. "No, no. It's fine. I'm fine. I just needed a minute..."

That her boyfriend was being so gentle was not something she overlooked, her head tilting ever so slightly to plant a kiss against his cheek. "Thank you for coming. I just didn't know how to..." She didn't know how to handle Nadya, was what she wanted to say, though she trailed off when the panther across the room made noises, drawing her gaze over to her. The bags. She'd forgotten all about the clothing that resided in those bags. The girl who stood in that dressing room in those clothes seemed far away now that she was near Aiden. Oh, she'd never have the confidence to wear those clothes in front of him.

That Nadya dropped the bag in front of her made her cheeks flame, the girl moving slightly in Aiden's arms to pick up the fabric that had spilled out. She pulled it into her lap, stroking the soft skirt as she looked up at the boy. "Nadya took me shopping. I... I'm going to act as manager for her while she's away. She said I needed new clothes." It was all she had by means of explanation, and it seemed a silly one. Clothes were hardly important to her, after all. Still, she couldn't help but run her fingers over the fabric. It may only be something she wore to the burlesque, but she couldn't deny that it was pretty, far prettier than she was used to at this point.

But the fabric was hardly the thing that Nadya wanted her to look at, it seemed. She reached out to pick up the piece of paper that was indicated, unfolding it in her hands as she settled back against Aiden's chest. The document took her several rereads before she fully understood what it meant. The numbers seemed to dance in her eyes, not adding up. It was over double what she currently made, and it seemed like it had to be a misprint. That would change so much for her, really. The ability to properly feed herself, to care for Dorian... to buy herself proper things she needed. It was all more than the faerie could properly convey.

A fresh set of tears spilled down her cheeks â€" this time tears that certainly weren't ones of sadness. She was happy, really, though the emotion she'd most associate with the paper was overwhelmed. It was so much money, so much more than she'd had ever, and the sensation of perhaps not living in the poverty she'd grown used to caused the tears that she shed. "Nadya," She said finally, looking up at the panther. Oh, she wished she could communicate with her properly. "Nadya, this... it's too much." She looked up at Aiden, desperate for some kind of help. "Aiden, tell her this is too much money."
