Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

Residences

"I'd like that." Yejide had only visited Mortimer's home once and even now it was a whole different home, she couldn't get there on her own if she tried, plus her garden was most likely so sad looking compared to his own, Persephone had always tried to give her tips but nothing took. She didn't really have much insight for night gardening, but if Mortimer was proud enough to offer Yejide a look then there was without a doubt more he knew.

There would always be much to make her laugh, always more to who they were than what either one even realized. Yejide had to shake her head and laugh, the kind of laugh that caused her chest to shudder with happiness. "Oh no! My youngest brother is coming to live with me, that's all. If I tired to house them all I think they would end up causing anarchy in the town!" Turning her face slightly towards him her eyes glowed with good humor, she was so appreciative of the way he showed he recalled her explaining her large family to him years ago. Although Ezra was born only a few years before she left Meronia, the youngest of the children and the boy so much like their parents in his pleasure of magic.

If the necklace were not around her neck at that moment Yejide would have beaming with light, it would have bathed Mortimer's face, the path around them, and by far it would look more ethereal than the streetlamps set up along the path. To this day there was nothing that Mortimer could say- good or bad that would turn her from his side. She had known many men, and although he was the only vampire she was acquainted with there was such a deep trueness within him. Mortimer may not always realize it but she would not be here beside him if she found it any other way.

Widening her eyes and giving a low short whistle Yejide remarked, "you're keeping a friend on your couch! My, my, Mortimer, this is quite the news." Nothing rude about it, although she felt he always kept up appearances of being a loner, begrudging of all company. "So then I must meet him, it's not often you pass your approval on others. He must be a good man." Giving a nod of her head as if it's a seal of approval, "like you." Because there was no doubt in her mind of the type of man Mortimer is.

With the closeness in proximity Yejide listened to his words about those who have gathered. She's almost whispering this in his ear, "I've certainly noticed, although I haven't made any connection to my own. You are well connected in this coven?" She can see the concern in his eyes, the way it pulls at his features, and although she should feel touched she knows there is much he doesn't know. "I'm not that same child as before-" but she is cut off by him stepping in front of her, all progress halted and Yejide looks into his face.

There is a growing tension with his anger and upset, her heart pulls and staggers in her chest as the light within her wavers and flickers. Yejide cannot look away from his eyes and finds that truth and devotion to him she has always had. A sad sigh leaves her lips after his words, "that is why my brother is coming to stay with me." He was not born of the fae and she knew his magic would keep her safe with any signs of danger. "The threats you speak of are not unfamiliar to me, but as vulnerable as you believe me to be I can promise I'm a lot harder to kill." Now. But that was beside the point, she didn't need to get into that now.

Again Yejide resorted to touching, gliding her hands onto his face in a light but reassuring touch. There is no pulse to be detected beneath his cool skin as she leans in closely, "you are my most trusted confidant, Mortimer. You were truly my first friend when I was only a clueless child and yet you welcomed me into your life. You are one of the few in this world and the next that I know I can count on, and I do. I want you to trust me too, and I know you might think I can't do much to protect you but I can." She was serious in all of this, and perhaps it was what made her drop her hands from his face, her hands feeling cooler and better than the rest of her. Yejide was by nature an emotional creature, and before she could let this serious tone overwhelm their conversation she lifted the corner of her mouth in the trademark way her family had, just a playful quirk, "I'm full of surprises."
