Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
A part of Sebastian, albeit a part he fiercely ignored, was all too aware of how entirely foolhardy this was. There was so much that was working against him in this. He was hardly ignorant enough to Dorian's prowess at their more intimate activities, speaking clear volumes of the number of partners his companion had. He knew now as well the sheer amount of time his companion had spent to the confines of that palace walls entertaining the same familiar faces and now, Dorian had the world to explore and the numerable people within it. Sebastian himself was but the first new shiny thing to catch the king's interest and surely there too would be others to come after him that would overshadow the firsts he had to share with his companion. After all, the world was now Dorian's oyster and he was hardly the best pearl in this ocean. Still, despite that knowledge that he could never hope for any kind of prolonged commitment when there was still quite literally an eternity to behold, there was still the chance that, perhaps, he might at least be able to hope for some sort of occasional side fling throughout the years for the fairy King. It was that which he strove for, despite how particularly peculiar it might have been to set his own goals so low. Still, the vampire was strikingly realistic, if nothing else.
Regardless a warm simper crossed the vampire's features as his head bobbed ever so slightly in agreement to Dorian's statement before the man simple settled against the cool embrace of the grass beneath them. He was aware entirely of that rigidness to his lover's frame, that unrelentless possessiveness kept Sebastian close to his companion, assured that the simple brush of their sides was enough to satisfy that obsessive need to protect his companion from those unwarranted anxiety he so clearly felt. Still, the more the fireworks exploded overhead and the safe that the remained, the more Dorian's own figure seemed to relax and too, Sebastian's desires. In truth, the man had hardly noticed this connection, or rather, what he had noticed he'd hardly written it off as anything more than a natural reaction to his already blossoming feelings for his companion. Instead, his crystalline gaze was entirely occupied by the multi-colored lights that filled the blackened sky above him, the vampire glancing over only occasionally to ensure his lover was too enjoying himself.
That kaleidoscope of color above, however, quickly recaptured the vampire's attention as the fireworks came to their great finale in a veritable boom that echoed across the park, the lights scattering and sizzling out of existence but several minutes later and soon, the members of the park too began to stir. Sebastian, on the other hand, was entirely content to remain exactly where he was nestled in the grass finally offering a response to Dorian's words. His own attention was now entirely devoted to his companion, the man entirely unperturbed by the notion that his father had made an effort to arrange his son's marriage. It was, after all, still an action that was done well within his own time. His own family had made a point to involve themselves to a certain extent in those Sebastian himself saw if only for the strategic move of increasing their own wealth and titles. Still, this was so familiar to him, this talk of the women they'd chased or been arranged to see, it was what his own friends during his youth had often discussed and so, it was almost natural, the words that fell from his lips even though it was a fact he'd kept largely guarded and to himself. "I was married once....a very long time ago."
He failed to expand upon the topic any further than acknowledging the existence of the woman he'd once shared just a slice of his life with, instead so freely commenting upon just how little of the world his companion had seen. He had hardly anticipated the response he had received, Sebastian clearly recognizing the admittance for what it was - a genuine truth that surely was not easily to even state. The vampire's lips pressed together ever so slightly, his head shaking ever so slightly. "Do not be. It is nothing you cannot overcome. Just....be wary and careful." It was not like Sebastian to offer any such "sage" advice though, in truth, he abhorred the idea of any nefarious individual taking advantage of his lover's lack of knowledge of the world in which surrounded him. It was, perhaps, a thought caused only by that residual protectiveness that so still tainted him. The vampire's gaze fluttered towards his companion as the man so abruptly moved, his eyes lingered upon the fairy before the man moves only to rest his head against the vampire's own chest.
A small simper of serenity crossed Sebastian's features, his free hand reaching out to gingerly toy with Dorian's locks as he inquired after a place that had been lingering upon the forefront of his mind - a place he was sure Dorian too would find an unwavering amazement within. "I will show you....next time." He responded simply, entirely willing to leave the fae with an inquisitive puzzle of his own, especially considering how many Dorian had a habit of leaving himself with. Tonight, even, the fairy King had offered but another promise of a something - that Sebastian could hardly forget. He was assured that the aquarium was hardly on the same level of this mysterious thing in which Dorian had in store for him and yet, still he made the effort to present his lover with the world. The sound of his own name caught the vampire's attention, his gaze fluttering upwards towards the sky and the stars that so dotted it. "The heavens change depending upon the seasons and where in the world you are. Italy is nearly halfway around the world. Still, there is one star...." His voice trailed off, his gaze scanning the horizon before he reached up, pointing at it above them. "There....she is the same here as she is in your homeland. Polaris."
