Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

In all the time that she'd known him, the only time that Samantha had felt Aiden's emotions get so strong was the night when she'd influenced them. But that had been lust and love and good emotions. These were anything but that. They were dark, the emotions of nothing but fear and terror and anxiety. She felt as though her skin was prickling with goosebumps as she studied the feline that was within her room now. The longer that she knew Aiden, the more his emotions seemed to effect her. And these... These emotions made her fingers tremble and her body feel cold. It was that, in addition to the need to clean the burns on his skin, that had her drawing away from her boyfriend and into the bathroom. She wasted no time in wetting the cloth she would clean the wounds with, though she still couldn't help but take several deep breaths to try and steady herself.

She was aware of the tension in his body as she approached him, and she reached out to hold the rag where he could smell it. "It's just water," She said very quietly as she knelt down beside him, pressing it to the wounds on his neck. She had yet to figure out how to communicate with him when he was in his feline form. Normally, she wouldn't have been bothered by the mute way they had to converse. But then again, it wasn't the norm that he showed up with her having been harmed, now was it? She couldn't imagine what his night had been like. Hunters were more keen to killing that trying to collar the Weres they encountered. Vampires themselves were equally harmed by the silver, so it couldn't be them. Faeries? That was a possibility, and the idea of any of her kind doing this to him - of anyone doing this to him - had her anger rising to the surface. She needed to know what had happened to him. She needed to know if there was anything she could do to protect him.

She felt his fear flair up before he reacted, and the terror was enough to have her pulling her hands back. The bloody rag dropped to the floor, and the faerie girl merely watched as he pulled abruptly away from her to go towards the open window. What was it? What had he heard? It was so, so abnormal for him to be like this, and that alone had the girl fearful for whatever threat it might be. He was the strong one. He was the protector. That he was afraid made her shiver. She didn't ask what it was he saw out there - frankly, she wasn't sure she wanted to know, lest her own fear rise up to the occasion. Instead, she merely waited until he moved back towards her. Her head tilted to the side as she studied him, deciding finally that whatever threat it was, they were okay in this moment.

"It's okay," She murmured softly, reaching out to gently run her fingers through the short black fur on the back of his head, her fingertips careful not to touch the burnt places. She leaned forward then, her forehead resting against his body as she pressed closer to him. "Whatever it is, you're okay. You're with me. You're safe." It was perhaps a silly notion to think that the mere presence of her would be enough to calm down the man or to make him feel safe, and yet that was exactly what she was offering him, was it not? Whatever she could do, she would protect him. Of that she was sure.
