Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Samantha Cassidy
It felt so natural for the Fae Queen to brush those careful circles along the flesh of her boyfriend. It was a comforting gesture, one that reminded her so entirely of home. She could remember those nights in her childhood home overlooking the New York skyline with her mother rubbing those circles on her skin to get Samantha to calm down, to sleep, to rest. It was the same sense of comfort that she hoped to instill within the man that sat so close to her. It didn't help that the affinity that she'd just discovered only helped with the touching, and she could do readily feel those emotions and thoughts that shifted through his mind. The images were so fleeting, the girl only getting a glimpse before they would be gone and replaced with the next equally horrifying image. The things that the man had so clearly gone through seemed to tug at her heart, the queen wanting nothing more than to shield him from all of that pain and suffering. She wanted to protect him, but how could she? He was the most powerful person that she knew, and if he couldn't protect himself, what good would she be?
Samantha remained silent after the questions fell from her lips, watching the events play out like a movie within her own mind. The fire, the flames, the scared child screaming. She wanted to flinch away from it all, but her fingers kept rubbing those circles on his skin as she watched the visions of the vampire woman getting her hands on the child that had once been her beloved Aiden. His words alone seemed to break the visions, her blue eyes flitting up to meet his green ones as he spoke how how he had been hunted and chosen. She wanted to apologize for the actions of the vampire, but how could she even begin? Targeting a child seemed the lowest of the low, and Samantha couldn't deny that she was happy the vampire was dead. Even though death didn't seem to be a cruel enough punishment for all the things that she had made Aiden endure. She saw the way he seemed to be slipping into that memory, her words asking again of how he had escaped.
Visions erupted within her mind at the inquiry, these coming across so vivid to the girl. The dance club seemed like such a terrible place, and the idea of Aiden living there, being kept as a pet and a source of amusement for the woman made Samantha feel almost ill. She could see the flames once more, that very club burning to the ground. Her fingers stopped in those circular patterns, instead moving to intertwine with his as she held his hands. "Oh Aiden," She whispered, though she wasn't sure how to finish the sentence without showing nothing but despair for the man and what he had gone through. "You... you were with her tonight? I saw when I touched you earlier that she's dead. She's the one that did this," Her eyes flitted to the burns on his neck, the thought of that silver collar being placed on her boyfriend filled her with an almost territorial rage. How dare she touch him. "She's dead, right? And she's on my roof. You're waiting for sunlight." It was a simple statement, one she already knew the answer to by his previous thoughts. "Sunlight isn't for a few hours, I... You'll stay with me until then. And then if you want, I'll go up there with you to make sure she's dead. You shouldn't have to be alone with this, Aiden."
