South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Symbiosis and scars

"Incredible," Navi thought as she watched Raven morph into various sizes. "Does that take stamina to morph all the time? Is it natural?" she inquired, looking at Raven intently. When Raven had explained to Navi about the symbiotic relationship between ravens and wolves, Navi could barely contain herself from blurting out all the research and observations she had done on certain interconnections in nature her 300+ years of living independently. "Wolf-bird is also another name for a Raven," she gleamed and pointed her finger to the air as if she was raising her hand to answer her own question. "They tend to hunt within the same terrain for food. Yet, Ravens have a hard time opening up their meals carcasses which they rely on wolves to do for them. It is a mere part in an ancient evolutionary system," she smiled as she observed Raven. "Did you know, ravens are also attracted to wolves howling?" she happily remarked. Maybe the relationship between those represents a connection deeply rooted within yourself. Many answers to your past and who you truly are can be easily accessed if you know where to look. Where to look you might ask? I'm sure you are already aware of that answer Raven," she gently nodded staring intently into Raven's gleaming eyes.

Navi had realized that as soon as she mentioned the wolf's scars she observed raven go stiff. After listening to Raven give an indistinct explanation about the scars and swiftly switching the subject back to Navi she interjected cautiously. "Look, I don't expect you to unveil your life story to me because I made mention about your scars. It was merely an observation. That's your information to do what you please with. I'm not looking to pry," Navi stated casually. "In fact, even I understand that it would be rude for you to spill your life story to me and I proceeded to give you no information in return," she examined to see Raven's expression. "I'm not here to describe my fate either," she chuckled, amused at the situation at hand. "Let's just say, where I came from, people did not accept me for what I was," Navi sighed, exuding a melancholy air about her. Not wanting Raven to notice she promptly grinned and said, "But that's enough about me." She didn't want to recall her past, especially not in front of somebody she just met.

Navi had rustled the leaves around and proceeded to flop herself onto the pile restlessly switching positions until she felt the warm and woolly fur tickle her back. Resting side by side she heard Raven tell her that not all Weres live in packs but she in fact did. Navi couldn't help but wonder if faeries gathered in the same sense. "Oh man, that would be a pain," she thought to herself. "Are they better to you, these new pack members?" Navi asked, her back still turned away from Raven's. Silence hung in the air between them. Wanting to apologize in some way Navi softly told Raven, "Scars are more than just ugly reminders of our pasts, it makes others aware that we survived and conquered. That we still exist." There was stillness that clung around them but there seemed to be a mutual understanding. Waiting a few minutes and breaking the quietness between them, Navi decided to be open about one thing in particular. "My mother was the one who had taught me that phrase. She always wanted to help others. In the end, that was her demise." The word demise seemed to echo about the forest as the two who had just met, lay next to each other listening to quiet woods.
