South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

I bet on me and my own heartbeat

Kat doesn't remember that she is a supernatural being. As far as she is concerned, supernatural beings were best left in books, tv shows, and the many, many movies that were out. The thought that she was a witch never even crossed her mind. As far as Kathryn knows, the closest she has ever been to being a witch was when she dressed as one for Halloween when she was eight. Pointy hat, long cloak, broomstick and all. So, needless to say, Kat's views of what witches were are certainly skewed. When she thinks witches, she thinks the Sanderson Sisters and Hocus Pocus, or Casper Meets Wendy, or any of the Harry Potter books that she has read at least seven times by now in her lifetime.

Witches weren't real.
Well, so she thought.

Kathryn remains on the ground in a sitting position, smiling and laugh despite the pain of just having taken a tumble off her baby blue bike. It was a stupid move, the squirrel hadn't even been that close when she decided to swerve. Still, Kat would rather she had spilled out onto the grass gotten a few very minor injuries than actually running over a poor, innocent squirrel, who was probably running about in such a wild manner to simply find some acorns to store for the upcoming winter. She begins brushing herself off of any pieces of grass or autumn leaves that clung to her. As she bends her knees, the witch winces slightly. Yep, those definitely stung and would no doubt maybe leave a small bruise or two in the morning. She is just once again thinking how she must have looked, tumbling off her bike like a child riding a two-wheeler for the first time, when a pretty blonde-haired girl comes jogging over to her, extending her hand, which Kathryn eagerly grabs to help hoist herself up and off the ground. "Yeah, I'm okay, thanks" she says with a small laugh. "Some crazy squirrel decided to test its speed against my bike. I lost," she adds with a small smile as blue eyes gleam with humor. She parts eye contact for a moment to reach down and grab her bike, lifting it by the handle bars and bringing it back into the standing position.

She flips the kickstand down and returns her gaze back to the girl who had come to her aid. "I am Kathryn by the way," she says, extending a hand towards her. And maybe it was Kathryn's embarrassment of falling, or maybe it is that in this park two witches have found one another, or maybe it is simply Kathryn's lack of control for the power she doesn't know she has, a warm breeze coming from no where and ending no where, blows gently around the two, blowing dark and light locks for a moment before settling down. "Is it always windy here?" Kathryn asks, turning to look as the leaves around the pair of witches settles down before piercing blue eyes return to the blonde. "I'm new to town," she says, stating the reasoning for asking about such a bland topic such as the weather.

Perhaps no, it is not always windy in Sacrosanct, but in Kathryn's world, the breeze blow without her realizing. Calm and warm when she was happy. There was a time, her grandparents had taken her to the beach and she had stepped on a jellyfish. Her cries had been so fierce and loud, a sandstorm had whipped its way around her, blowing up sand, stinging her grandad and granny as they tried to comfort their grandchild. Kathryn, too young to remember that moment has no idea of her connection to the wind and the power that stirs in her silver blood.
