South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

There is no one left to save my soul; Miss Serafina

all that is gold does not glitter
not all who wander are lost

Yesterday, another creature had come through that portal, in all honestly, he had hope it would have closed on its own. That perhaps it would fade as time went on, but it was clear that something had to be done about this inconvenience. Unsurprisingly, nothing left ignored ever just fixed itself... It almost always got worse. It was no different now. That was the reason why he trudged through waste-deep foliage and irritating bugs buzzing around his head. Not even the mosquitos were sure if they wanted to bite him, considering his blood was entirely.. different. That silvery metallic substance that flowed through his veins was hardly edible to the insects. His eyes seemed to capture and emulate that colour of his slightly as it intermingled with the blue in his eyes.

He had put a quick end to that medium-sized creature that was the size of a mountain bike. But damn was he gross, he was practically made of slime and teeth, it nearly took his arm off, or so he thought. His arm was lost in that goop in an attempt to find its heart. He wasn't sure if it even had one, but he had to try. It tried to encase him with goo so that it potentially suffocated him with that putrid substance it was made of. He had swum entirely butt naked for a full hour or longer, he couldn't remember, under the pale moonlight in the ocean and it still didn't remove that smell from his skin. Close to three showers later his own nose was no longer sensitive to it. The creatures had to stop.. They just kept coming through and like a magnet they tried to hunt him down like they did in that hell dimension. What the hell was it about him? It got old, real quick. He had bigger fish to fry, like the demon that had him in its vile sights.

The portal had to go, so he could dedicate whatever time he had to defeat his demon. These creatures were another distraction getting in his way. Those people with inner demons hadn't got shit on him when he had an ACTUAL demon threatening to destroy the scrapings of what was who he was.

Brennan had half a mind to enlist Serafina's help but he had very firmly decided against it. The warlock had been avoiding her. Yup, the man was hardly a coward but when faced with that dark-haired temptress, he chose to avoid her. It didn't make the pain of losing her any better either, but he had to try. At least for his own sanity.. if you could call what he was entirely sane. He had come out of the hell dimension a changed man, but his fierce feelings for the woman hardly subsided. His whole life seemed distant, a fragment that barely existed in reality. He hardly fit, but he would simply have to somehow jam himself into this existence until something actually stuck.

He wore jeans, so his bare legs wouldn't accidentally brush up against poison ivy or who knows what else that littered the forest floor. He scoffed, he had been wandering around the woods for at least an hour.. How bloody far did he have to go before he made it to that portal anyways? It was about 4:00pm and the sun was still sitting pretty in the sky, blasting the world with her relentless heat. He was grateful for the dense canopy that provided much-needed shade. But everything looked so damn different from the last time he was here.

SNAP. A loud noise sent him whirling to face it. "THIS IS BULLSHIT YOU KNOW. Total, waste of time.. bullshit." He declared, rather loudly, inviting the demon or whatever creature that dared to prowl out from the forest and face him. Yet another creature out to take a stab at him. "Just put me out of my goddamn misery.." The irish man hissed, quietly to himself, he hardly meant it though, he would hardly let someone try and kill him. He strong muscles flexed as he braced, poised like an assassin ready to face an imposing threat, ready to react. He called upon his affinity summoning a deathly sharp sword laced with deadly poison. Who said the Irish man didn't possess flair? It was a damn good thing he was good at this sordid death dance.

So what was it going to be now? What creature wanted a taste of his blood now?

God, he wanted nothing more than to be out on the water on his boat with a bottle of whiskey as his companion.. Alas.. he would at least have a little fun when he killed it slowly.
