It had been so long since that dreadful night where she had lost her unborn child. Not long after that night Frost had gone off to some undisclosed 'work' trip he had to do. Even though it pained her to have him leave she didn't utter a word about it. The same principle that she had with her brother, not asking about how he made money and those otherwise sketchy transactions, she upheld with Frost. During his absence she had kept an eye on the pack with Malia and even attempted to have a house party. The party was of course all Malia's idea in an attempt to make friends and wanting more pack members. Nadya was still indifferent on the idea at the moment but helped nonetheless for her friend and Beta.
Nadya had poured her time and energy into the twins otherwise. She more or less pulled them from preschool, spending more time with them going out and having fun or teaching them within their kitten forms. That expanse of an empty bed at home was filled with their tiny bodies cuddled up to her. None of that stopped upon Frost's return either. Their once intimate nature was gone and she hardly paused to talk to him save for about the plans for that day with the children. That emptiness that had been left within her was being filled every waking moment on the twins.
She knew that distance she felt was partly her own doing. It was so hard to tell with her stallion about his feelings. She obviously wasn't the mind reader. She was afraid, due to him taking off so soon from her miscarriage and not hearing from him during his entire time away, that he no longer wanted her in that way. Nadya knew enough about Frost to know he wasn't sleeping around with anyone else. But did he regret his choice of making her his mate? Did he no longer feel that desire towards her or feel her capable of giving him a family of his own?
Today those thoughts plagued her as she watched him leave the house that morning. Though she didn't want to separate from the twins she knew she had to address the thoughts that worried her all these weeks. Nadya dropped the twins off at their preschool once more before setting to work.
It was mid afternoon when she finally texted Frost to meet her at the southern waterfall. Nadya set aside her phone then, pulling out a large blanket and throwing it over the ground. She laid out the food and drink upon it much in the same fashion he had done for their first true date. She remembered that night so well. It had been unique and shown her just the tip of the iceberg on that care he felt for her. She hoped he still did. Nadya settled back on the blanket to stare out at that small waterfall. Despite the slight chill in the air she wore a white bare-back summer dress with long flowy lace sleeves. Her hair was left free to fall in long natural waves over her shoulders.
The telltale sound of someone approaching finally tore her chocolate gaze away from that moving water and met those of her mate.
