Tobias' dark gaze drifted toward that photograph Raven held once more. The gangly deviant eyeing that picture with a clear look of intrigue as his mind struggled to put together those tendrils of information that existed within that veritable abyss of his thoughts. He understood 'baby'. Nadya, after all, had explained those things to him before. Tobias made that connection on at least some level and yet- how often he struggled to perceive those things he could not see. The very notion that the baby existed and yet he could neither see nor touch it was a difficult concept to understand and yet those past experiences lingered within his mind all the same. The young man's gaze shifted from that photograph to Raven's stomach and back again for several more long seconds before his hand lifted to point to that picture. He could hardly see the baby within it and yet Tobias so often failed to see what others saw when looking at most pictures. The man simply content to take Raven's word on it. Raven, after all, would never lie about such things he was certain. His mate's insistence she would get more photos of the child the next time she went to visit the doctor seemed to prompt the return of a frown to his features. The deviant considered that idea all the more before Raven asked whether or not he wanted to go with her.Tobias offering a small and yet determined shake of his head.
"No. I...do not.....like....pictures."
That Tobias seemed to fear having photographs of himself being taken was surely clear. The deviant, today, seeming to find some sort of distress in the notion. Those ducks waddled closer then, in search of further bread.Tobias, in that moment, allowing his gaze to narrow darkly upon the closest one. They were coming closer every day. Soon, he was certain, he would be able to reach one. Those predatory instincts dancing dangerously close to the surface before Raven mentioned Halloween. A holiday Tobias greatly favoured. The consideration that the baby might join them for halloween seemed to bring an entirely new level of intrigue to the deviants mind, Tobias' gaze shifted up to meet Raven's own once more. The excitement in his wife's voice was distinctly clear. The WereLeopard near instantly grew suspicious.
"Do we....still get....the candy?"
This baby, he was certain, was not allowed to take his candy. Tobias, after all, took the manner of candy with distinct seriousness. Candy, after all, was his favoured food. Those more ideal pieces could even be traded to Tetradore for other things he desired. Such was the value of those sugary sweets to the two men. To miss out on that candy would be nothing short of displeasing. Worse, to be made to share it! Babies, he was certain, did not eat candy. The man waited for several moments longer in search of reassurance for his companion that their currently unborn child would be of no threat to his candy collecting before he suddenly demanded to know the name of that baby. Babies, after all, had to have names. Everything had to have a name. Tobias distinctly fond of naming things that did not. Raven fell quiet then, she shook her head softly before her shoulders lifted in a shrug, only to insist the baby had no name and that she hardly knew if it was a boy or a girl. This news, in particular, was nothing short of shocking to the young man.
"Why....don't you know?"
Why Raven could not simply just....ask the baby its gender, or merely check, had clearly not occurred to him. Tobias, in that moment, eyed his mate critically. Knowing whether something was a boy or a girl was one facet of learning Tobias was assured he had mastered. A genderless baby clearly a notion he was unwilling to accept. Along with it's apparent namelessness. Tobias, in that moment, deciding abruptly on what he was sure that name would be. Much to Raven's apparent shock. The young woman's features readily shifted into a look of....concern- before she reached for his hand, squeezing it gently as she did. Raven took that moment then to attempt to explain why those names he had chosen were not suitable. Tobias, this time, shaking his head once more.
"I....want to call it.....Duck....until it is....not Duck."
Tobias, it seemed, was determined to assign some name to their child until she or he had been given a proper one. The man, for some reason, was near insistent upon....Duck. His very gaze near daring Raven to argue as she lent agianst him. That sigh of contentment prompted the man to relax in turn before she asked whether or not he was happy to be a Father again. Tobias was silent once more, the man seeming to contemplate that very question before his head nodded.
"Yes. I would....like to.....have a...baby again."
