Being far away from home felt different than before. The last time they were far away was when they traveled to Italy and Africa. While they were away, those invisible threads that bound her to the rest of her pack remained just as strong as if they were still nearby. Here within these woods, those invisible threads seemed looser. It didn't feel right that they were so far away from their family, especially after the loss of their home. They didn't choose to leave their pack. Both of them followed their Alphas' orders even if neither agreed with his decision. Splitting the pack up didn't seem right, because they should have stayed together. Living in the middle of nowhere felt odd. It didn't feel out of place, but it didn't feel perfect either. The last time she lived within the woods was the first place she called home, even if it never felt like a home in the first place. It took some adjusting, but after accepting the fact that this little cabin and the woods they lived in was nothing like that horrid place, she started feeling comfortable. Running around with her mate was quite fun! Her wolf half was enjoying the clean air, the feeling of dirt underneath her paws, and the scent from the fir trees. It felt good, allowing those natural instincts kick-in and take control. Even her spotted companion was allowing himself to let-go, perhaps a bit too far with their Dark Hunter visitor.
Why Azrael would come all the way up here baffled her. For a while, the two of them didn't get along very well. The only thing they had in common together was the raven-haired witch they were both attached to. Maybe she was the reason why he traveled all this way to find her. It wasn't like he was coming up here to say he missed her in the city. After settling Tobias' need to protect the two, err three of them, she directed of her attention to the treed Dark Hunter. With a gentle swish of her tail, she mentally giggled at the sight, making a mental note that she ought to share this memory with Serafina. Watching him start to come down the tree, she took a few steps back to allow him some space. Both ears twitched forward as he began to speak, pleased to hear that Serafina was okay. Quietly she nodded in agreement about the travel restrictions. After finding all the ingredients towards her talisman, she was eager to see just what they would discover at the location Frost mentioned. From what she was told, this particular talisman had been within their family for generations, since the very start at the formation of her pack. Raven never knew there were other talismans, each one showing a different animal chiseled on the metal with a different gift attached to it. Maybe after the pandemic, they could try to travel before she was due, and if not, well it could be something they do afterward...maybe.
Raven didn't expect Azrael to answer such a personal question. Weirdly, she considered the annoyed Dark Hunter as a friend. Maybe not a close friend, but a friend nonetheless. The two of them were very good at accomplishing whatever Dark Hunter job they needed to do. Hearing Azrael scathing remark about their lack of visitors did sting a bit. Her head would bend downwards as her ears drooped; a very soft whimper choked out. She thought for sure some of her packmates or friends would come to the woods and spend some time to relax out of the city. Raven hardly liked the idea of driving Tetradore's car unless absolutely necessary. If any more damage befell the vehicle, she was sure the green-eyed man would be very displeased. Shaking her head, she lifted it back up to see him as she curled her tail closer to her in comfort.
One ear twitched upwards, internally she grinned, the Dark Hunter needed, no, wanted her. Getting up on her grey paws, she casually approached him that black and grey tail wagging playfully behind her. Using her shoulder, she roughly bumped into his upper thigh, pressing herself against him in a very cattish manner. Clearly the wolf picked up some feline habits. Raven knew that he would not be thrilled at her touching him, and yet it was all done with sincerity. He was starting to accept her. Raising her head up slightly, she would bump her muzzle next to it, allowing her pink tongue to lick it. Maybe that was a bit much, and yet it was fun to make him slightly uncomfortable. Serafina did this to him, why couldn't she? Her voice would gently press into his mind, her tone sincere.
Knowing he wouldn't appreciate it if she remained pressed against him, she stopped and took a few steps back, in case he wanted to push or shove her aside. If he placed a harmful hand on her, Tobias would not be pleased. Shaking some of the excess water off her dark fur, she sat herself down tilting her head slightly as she stared back at him. If a wolf could blush, her cheeks would be burning red when he asked why her mate was being so overly protective. He was quite perceptive about her husband's actions. In her human form, her pregnancy was not noticeable yet, and she doubted her wolf form would show it either. With one paw she scratched the dirt timidly, unsure with what sort of answer she should give him. He was always nice to her, even if he had a weird way of showing it. Excitedly she gave him the good news.
Raven didn't think he would go hunting for her packmates and tell them the news. But, she wanted him to at least be aware that they didn't know, just in case he somehow ran into them. As for Serafina, she wanted to tell her friend this particular news, it was important it came from her mouth and not his. Still standing in the rain, and knowing he didn't come all this way to hear about her child, she quickly brought the conversation to focus back on why he came here in the first place.
Clearly, she was interested in helping him.
