South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Ascension Center of Equitation

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Park

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.

The Outskirts

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Kit was never a relationship kind of guy. He had his family once upon a time, his father who he looked up to and wanted to be just like. And he had Troy, his younger brother who never took anything seriously and had a penchant for getting attached. He was a magnet for girls on the road and he was a nice guy so sooner or later, he always found a girl that he liked more than just a fling and he'd want to stay and see what happened. Back then, Kit was always the voice of reason, there to remind his brother what type of life they were had and how there was never any room in that life for love. Sure, Kit had his moments where he felt sorry for Troy and almost let him walk away from the life of a Hunter. In the end, he always wanted something better for his baby brother. He wanted him to be happy and have a real life. But he never thought that was in the cards for himself.

He knew how to flirt, sure, in that goofy, awkward way he had. Some girls seemed to like it. Then usually they'd part ways amiably and that was the end of it. Nothing else ever needed to be said. He assumed that would be the case with Sam. How very wrong he was. A girl never stayed on his mind more than a week or so at most. Then he'd get back down to business and their image would fade with time. He was so distracted with finding Troy, one would think it should be easy to do that and yet...her fiery red hair and sultry voice kept finding Kit again and again. Suddenly she was on the face of every girl he looked up and every time someone called out in the street he would turn his head, hearing her call his name. His chest would tighten when a girl would walk by him in a hallway and he'd think he was smelling her perfume.

Seeing her again was like a breath of fresh air he didn't know he needed, and yet it felt so incredibly dangerous too, if only because it brought to life just how much he wanted to see her. She was still as pretty as ever, her eyes glinting with intelligence while her lips presented endless temptations. She was watching him about as intensely as he found himself watching her, both of them seeming to drink each other in like a cool glass of water after a hot day. When the barista came over, he barely found himself looking at her, glancing over the menu as he ordered before he hungrily brought his green gaze back to Sam, the only place he really wanted to look. Usually, he would never turn up the option to appreciate a pretty girl, but it was hard to tear his gaze away from the only real prize in the room.

He hated how nervous she looked sitting across from him, as if any moment he would bolt for freedom or disappear right before her eyes. If only he knew how to soothe those fears, he would do it in a heartbeat. As he leaned forward, assuring her that she had his full attention, Sam leaned forward to clasp her smaller hand in his his. It felt so right in his palm and automatically he found his thumb rubbing small circles on her hand as if to soothe her. His gaze flicked down to her lips momentarily as she leaned in, his own parting slightly as if inviting her in but when she went to speak, he moved his gaze solidly back to her own blue one. Those words....was not at all what he was expecting. For a second he just blinked in shock, his mind rolling the words over and over again to make sure he heard correctly.

Then his hand gave hers a small squeeze, just enough to let her know that he was still present, still here for her. It was an automatic reaction and even though his entire body tensed, it wasn't in a reflex to run, but rather to hold tight, to let it all sink in. He was....going to be a father? Never in a million years had Kit ever pictured that possibility. He cleared his throat once more, not sure at first if he could even speak around how dry his throat suddenly felt. His gaze dropped to the table top for a moment as if finding all the answers there but quickly it darted back up to her own as he took a deep inhale. "How....far along?" At first his brain was going to ask how she knew but luckily he'd stopped himself from asking something so stupid. Of course she would make sure before telling him.

She must have her ways. Women had tests nowadays and who knows? Maybe she even had some power that told her. So he'd decided on a safer question. It wasn't that he was questioning the child's paternity, more that he wanted to know so he could do some research later and find out just what a pregnant fae had to expect in the upcoming months. He knew the rarity in pure fae children, having been one of only two in his own family bloodline. He also knew some of the trials a fae mother would go through to keep a pregnancy healthy and concern flitted across his features just thinking of Sam going through something like what he'd seen his own mother go through. He knew she wouldn't come to him if she wasn't sure it was his and he also knew she wouldn't come to him if she wasn't planning on keeping it. It was big news, but he was going to handle it the way his father would have wanted.

His gaze searched her delicate features, as if trying to pull out all the fear and trepidation she must feel. No wonder she was nervous! She had every right to be, carrying such news and knowing she had to present it to him. No wonder she thought he was going to run. He understood completely, yet he wasn't that kind of guy. He only worried for her. Glancing back down at their hands, he gave hers another squeeze before looking back up at her. "Do you need anything?" His gaze was soft, inviting, as he asked. He knew she didn't come to him just because she wanted something. She wasn't that type of girl. He trusted that much about her, even in the short time frame they'd known each other. She was fiercely independent and smart. She wasn't the type to reach for a handout without due cause. She felt he had the right to know and from there, she probably had no idea what their next step would be.

That made two of them. With a deep exhale, he waited patiently for her to tell him something, anything. Where did they go from here? How involved did she want him to be? Cause he wasn't running.
