Being far away from the pack had been an adjustment for everyone. Living in the cabin, in the middle of the woods, felt a little bit unsettling at first. The problem wasn't being left alone with her mate. Rather she enjoyed spending time alone with just the two of them together. After being accustomed to living near her family, invisible threads that connected her with the rest of the pack felt very strained. Phone calls and texts could only do so much to help nurture those bonds. Having Mira and Tetradore around would bring a bit of normalcy back. Leaving Tobias to spend some time with Tetradore, Raven happily led Mira into the kitchen so the two of them could chat. After munching on one of the delicious cookies Mira brought over, she shyly asked the other she-wolf to accompany her to a birthing class, uncertain if she would be interested. As soon as Mira agreed to attending those birthing classes, a wide grin crept on her face as she practically lunged at the woman to give her a quick hug. Hugging wasn't a typical gesture on her part, but she felt this was the right moment to do so.
It was exciting to know that she would not be attending these classes alone. Raven hoped that the two of them would have some fun together, even if the birthing class might be a little bit awkward. Slowly she released Mira from her sudden hug, taking a step back to give her some space, resting her arms protectively over her protruding stomach. Hearing the familiar sound from the new video game she gave Tobias, she leaned a little bit closer to the other she-wolf, whispering softly about the odd interaction she recently had. After the warehouse incident, she hardly ever thought about the two of them being caught. There was no way any of those vampires could know who they were. It wasn't like they ran around in their human form or shared each other's names...not even the victims knew who saved them. But since the cargo ship sunk and that coincidence of seeing the warlock out here, something just didn't feel right. However, that could be her overreacting, but with Mira's help, maybe those worries could disappear.
Switching the conversation to lighter topics, like being pregnant or what sort of antics the two of them had gotten into it, she was waiting patiently for the sun to finally go down. As soon as Mira declared it was time to go outside, she happily followed her to the back, feeling her other half ready to jump out. Staying on the porch, she used the wall to steady herself as the shift took place, eventually landing on all four grey paws. Keeping her head slightly lower, she approached her Alpha with the intent to get familiar with his scent again. Watching Mira nip at Tetradore, her tail swayed side to side, happy to see the two jump around until Tetradore tore off for the woods. Quietly she followed after him, not minding at all how both Mira and Tobias ran quickly to catch up to him. Unbothered being a little bit slower, she happily followed after the trio, enjoying the run. By the time Mira slowed down to meet her own pace, Raven was ready to slow down a bit to a walk to catch her breath.
Getting closer to Mira, she gently pressed her shoulder into her side, content to have her close by. When Mira stopped moving, she turned around, tilting her head to the side curiously. Did she catch something off? It was when she threw her head back to howl that Raven felt a bit sheepish. Being able to howl without effort should come naturally for her, and yet after all those years of being forbidden to howl, it was still a struggle to sing. That trip to Yellowstone with Tetradore gave her a chance to try, and that night was the first time, in a very long time she heard herself sing. Her head would turn when she heard Tetradore's familiar powerful roar back over in the direction of the tall trees. Turning her head to look back at Mira, she attempted to mimic her stance, but instead of raising one leg up, she kept hers down. Tossing her head back, she closed her eyes, mustering all she could to howl. At first, no sound could be heard, but eventually, her soft, haunting tune accompanied Mira's beautiful melody and Tetradore's roars.
