The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Just like any city - Sacrosanct is not without it's deep, dark underbelly. Hidden in the graffiti-ridden streets of the West, behind closed warehouse doors, lies the Black Market. Forever moving, it's nearly impossible to find without knowing someone who knows someone. Anything you desire can be brought for a hefty price within the Black Market - be it drugs, weapons, or lives.
Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.
Bartender Raylin Chike
Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.
Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

He seemed amused that she admitted to not having a very long attention span. It was the truth. She knew she would barely be able to pay attention long enough to learn how to work the damn contraption he called a washer. Plus, she really wasn't all that interested. Clean clothes were overrated anyway. He was hard to get to know. He always had been. He was like a robot most of the time but Malia had gotten used to that. He looked a little surprised when she admitted to being overwhelmed by the human experience, leaning against the railing and even giving her a small glimpse of the blind eye he kept hidden most of the time. He didn't seem so surprised when she brought up needing that familiarity. It was like he understood. He nodded, his face actually softening as if trying to comfort her and oddly enough, it did take away some of the nerves she was feeling about bringing it up. She was sure he would be offended, thinking she was going to leave the pack. He admitted that he expected as much, assuring her that it was natural to seek familiar places and things. He told her that it would get better with time. She nodded. "I hope so. It gets aggravating, not knowing what to do, what to say." He seemed to be talking from experience though so she took that as a plus. He was never pushy with his advice and she appreciated that. She was surprised that he would offer up a story of his own past, since it was so unlike him to share hardly anything about himself. She hung on every word because she knew it was a rare thing. When she asked how he would know to seek something different, he answered quickly that it was his mom. Her brows furrowed as she listened. Captured? "By who?" She felt herself asking. She found herself admiring his mother. She was strong and independent and wanted more for her son. Malia could understand that. She smiled softly, thinking about a mother teaching her son to read. Her eyes lit up near the end. "Good. She taught you to be an alpha." She said matter of factly. She noticed that his voice was that of a robot again, as if he was trying not to show too much emotion. She was used to that. When he changed the subject to hunters, she shrugged her shoulders. "You mean the guys with guns in the woods? The ones that take out the deer I'm trying to hunt?" He said he was bred and trained to be in their council, whatever that meant. She'd seen humans riding horses before so she got the idea of what he meant but it looked weird to her, being on an animal's back. She didn't think about belonging there unless you were trying to kill. His next news made her eyes widen in horror. They still had his mother? And they killed them on a regular basis? She straightened up. "Then we need to get her out!" She could tell he was trying to move on with the subject so as not to talk about it but they needed to talk about it. She couldn't just leave it like that. His shrug only made her feel worse. But of course he had to jump to yet another awkward subject, Tetradore. He said the name and her brow rose in surprise. He said it wasn't a crime to say his name and that he had no issue with him. Her head tilted. "That's not what I hear. I hear you pretty much killed the guy." She told him how frustrating it was and his answer was simple but still what she needed to hear. He said that he knew and she believed him. Then he said that it won't get better soon enough, that he was still learning himself. She listened attentively, one brow raised when he said to let others laugh at her. She wasn't sure she could take that lying down, but she could try. He made her feel better when he said they wouldn't survive in her world. Her lips quirked. "Damn right they wouldn't." She murmured in agreement. Then his best advice, to fake it when she knew humans were watching. She smirked. "I think I can do that." He got more into the heart of her frustration at his next confession. "Yes! Me too! I don't know what to do as a human. No need to hunt. No need to break up squabbles. No need to babysit pups. What do I do with myself?" His last words left her speechless. What the hell was that? It was a different language, it had to be. But she perked up when he said that he had a job for her. "Oh yes, please! I need a job." |
