I can't help this awful energy
Goddamn right, you should be scared of me
He hadn't realized till that very moment just how close Malia had become with her pack members. It was only natural, he assumed, that she might forge some sort of bond with them. As much as Tetradore hated to dwell upon it, he was well aware that the deeper those friendships became, the more their own relationship would fracture and splinter. It was quite near inevitable, as far as the Alpha was concerned. Not a single soul had managed to craft a lasting bond with both brother and sister without being placed in a precarious position where a side demanded to be taken. His relationship with Nadya was far too toxic, invading even those bonds he crafted with others to the point that Tetradore rarely spoke of her or Frost at all, anymore. He merely accepted the way things were, just as he too simply accepted that whatever comradeship he held with the wolf was but temporarily. Even so, he was altogether quick to reassure the woman that his interest within her had hardly been out of some misguided attempt at revenge. It was hardly his 'style' to simply use others for something so distinctly...petty.
Admittedly, he had hardly been forth coming in his true intentions with the woman. He had been trying to get her used to the idea of what she was before forcing that decision upon her to leave her pack and home to join him. In his waiting, he had lost her to Frost. Still, a small glimpse of humor twitched upon those feline features as she declared him far too 'stuffy' as a feline. "You were braze and stubborn, I was irritated." The were-panther admitted with a small shrug. Truthfully, many of those first meetings he'd spent with her had required a near excruciating amount of patience from the man. Now that she accepted what she was, now that she had an insatiable curiosity for the world that was open to her, their time together was somehow...easier. Now, she was playful instead of defensive and likewise, Tetradore quite near relaxed in turn. It was a shame, truly, that they hadn't been able to come to this point before now. Still, Tetradore chose not to dwell upon those what-if's anymore then he already had tonight. Instead, after a near chastising word that Raven or Nadya or Henry was hardly Tetradore or Frost themselves, the man was quick to distract her with the rocking of that boat and the offer to see or participate within the ring of the Ark first hand.
That scowl of her features prompted a small glimpse of amusement on his own, even though the were-King said little in response to her assurance that she would never get used to the rocking sensation. Tetradore was hardly surprised that Malia so eagerly took up the offer to see that ring. A small snort left his nose at her baiting remark to beat him. His emerald eyes turned over his shoulder as he led her back down that hallway. "If you beat me, you become Alpha of the Ark." He informed her with a small smirk. After all, Tetradore remained undefeated, that open challenge had a way of keeping the Ark in check. Though truly, if Malia did manage to best the man, he was quite certain the woman would make a splendid Alpha, once she got accustomed to that mortal life. Maybe, one day, she could replace him on that throne. One day. Tetradore paused at the top of that little overhang his own gilded throne was settled upon, his emerald eyes turned towards the woman at his side. "Would you like to join in a battle? There are only three rules - no killing, no powers, no weapons."
