The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Just like any city - Sacrosanct is not without it's deep, dark underbelly. Hidden in the graffiti-ridden streets of the West, behind closed warehouse doors, lies the Black Market. Forever moving, it's nearly impossible to find without knowing someone who knows someone. Anything you desire can be brought for a hefty price within the Black Market - be it drugs, weapons, or lives.
Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.
Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

She rolled her eyes at Azrael's heated words back. "First off, I can throw from many, many different positions." Her eyes narrowed a bit suggestively as she emphasized one of the "many's." She used to use seduction as one of her many tactics to lure and kill targets when she was working for Viktor. And the Council even asked her to deploy them before Kohl was in the picture. After she started getting serious with him, she could never convince herself it was alright, even if she was only doing it for her work. She was pretty flexible when she needed to, was her point, anyway. She knew how Azrael had always felt about Kohl. It was why she never let them in the same room together when Kohl happened to stop by the Council. Azrael wasn't known for keeping his trap shut and she knew she'd never hear the end of it if he harassed Kohl. At the end of the day, she didn't care what Azrael or the rest of the Council thought of Kohl. She loved him and he loved her. That was the main thing. Besides, if it wasn't for his genius ideas, the Council wouldn't have any of the handy new weapons he created. He had found his niche in inventing things and that was okay with her. She knew Azrael was helping her with his own powers as she twisted the knives. She wasn't going to thank him for it even if she was silently grateful that he didn't just walk away and leave her to her fate. It wasn't her style to be outright gracious to someone and Azrael would just be shocked if she tried to thank him anyway. It wasn't the way they ever were with each other....ever. So instead she focused her anger on the Hunter. That is, until Azrael decided to mention what Kohl had been getting himself into lately. Some part of her knew she should probably let the Council know about Viktor being in town but she told herself he wasn't after them. This was personal for him, like most of the targets he sent his Hunters on. He only wanted her. But now that Azrael knew about them, he would consider them a danger to the Council and Hunters in general so she knew he wouldn't give up now until she told him something. Just her luck. He was a loyal Council member to the end, she had to give him that. She could tell Azrael didn't like to admit how good Kohl was at getting information when he wanted it. He was a genius in terms of creating things with his hands and apparently hacking. She knew he spent a lot of time on his tablet and computer but who would have thought he could get through the Council's cyber defenses? She had to admit it, she was impressed. Of course, Kohl never failed to impress her. She could tell she convinced him at least that she didn't have a part in what Kohl did, but he looked curious when she mentioned that she left him to keep him safe. Of course now he'd really want answers. The Hunter was eavesdropping and added in about Viktor's interest in Kohl which only spurred her toward panic. No, she'd left Kohl to protect him, to get him off of Viktor's radar before he used Kohl against her. But it was already too late. Viktor already knew she cared about him. Damn him! She was so angry, she almost thought about killing the Hunter in front of her but that wasn't her. Azrael turned to her in frustration when she asked him to get the Council involved. She knew if Viktor already had Hunters staking out Kohl's place, then it was only a matter of time before he did something to get her attention and she couldn't risk Kohl. She wouldn't. She couldn't be in two places at once and she needed to get to Viktor, to stop him once and for all. Azrael rounded on her, asking questions and she sighed, knowing she needed to give him something. The other Hunter was giving her the eye, like he was wondering if she had the guts to say anything. He probably thought he was getting out of this so he needed to have as much information for Viktor as possible. She definitely wasn't letting him loose after this, even if she couldn't kill him. She lowered her voice, even though she didn't care what the other Hunter heard at this point. "His name is Viktor Sokolov. He's a Hunter from Russia. He was....is...my Maker." She let that sink in for a minute cause it took a lot for her to admit that. She felt no love for the man after finding out he killed her whole family before turning her, but it was still hard to voice her connection to him, especially after knowing everything he's done. She took a deep breath. "He likes to collect Hunters...sometimes he takes them in like mercenaries and offers money for services. Others he just creates. He sends them out on personal vendettas. I found out who he really is and I tried to kill him. Failed, obviously. So I ran. It was either that, or die. The Council found me while I was keeping myself off the map and I thought I'd be safe as long as I had their protection. I was wrong. Viktor found me. He's after Kohl to use him against me. He wants me dead." There, she'd skipped over some parts and details but for the most part, that should tell him who he's fighting and why Viktor wants her and Kohl. She watched his expression, trying to read how he'd take it all in. Would he be pissed at her for bringing this into the Council's territory? Would he move to protect Kohl if she asked him to? She could only hope so. Azrael seemed to think for a minute before he told her to deal with the other Hunter for a minute. She scowled, watching as he stepped away and fished out his phone. Hoping he was sending someone to check on Kohl, she glared at the other Hunter who only gave her a smug smirk. She twisted the knives again just to get his face to screw up in pain, which put a triumphant twinkle in her eyes before she turned back to ask Azrael for his input on how to get the man to talk. Azrael stepped toward the other Hunter and she raised a brow in curiosity. Her lips twitched with humor at the threat he offered the man before turning back to her and she shook her head on cue to his question. "Nope, not at all." The man's face paled for a second, looking between the two of them in disbelief. The man groaned and struggled as Azrael's gravity power started working on him, forcing him to the ground more. He spit blood on the ground indignantly toward them, as if daring them to make good on their offer. He glared at Azrael as he threatened to push the man's bones right out of his body. Kat's brow lifted, a little impressed with Azrael's ferocity. Finally the Hunter looked at Kat. "I'm on the lowest order so I don't get told a bunch. I just know he's interested in making you suffer. He wanted to make you watch what he does to Kohl before he kills you." He glanced toward Azrael. "I think he's got bigger plans though. I saw blueprints. It looked like the Council building. I don't know what he's planning but I think your precious Council may be in danger." He groaned in pain and looked between the two of them, his eyes a little wider. "There, that's all I know. Now get these fucking knives out of my back and let me go." He glared. Kat rolled her eyes but turned her attention back to Azrael as he pulled out his phone again. Her brows furrowed, clearly worried that it was something about Kohl. At his words about Kohl being gone and possibly rogue, she inhaled sharply and shook her head vehemently. "No, he wouldn't do that. He wouldn't go rogue. No matter how he feels about fighting, he believes in what the Council is doing." She scowled before nodding. "I'll go with you to check his house out, just to get answers." She sighed, hoping against hope that he wouldn't magically show up. She didn't know if she'd have the strength to walk away a second time. Especially knowing that it didn't change anything the first time. She nudged her head toward the man still glaring at them on the ground. "What about him?" She raised a brow, her eyes twinkling with amusement at the prospect of what Azrael might want to do with the rogue Hunter. |
