The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Just like any city - Sacrosanct is not without it's deep, dark underbelly. Hidden in the graffiti-ridden streets of the West, behind closed warehouse doors, lies the Black Market. Forever moving, it's nearly impossible to find without knowing someone who knows someone. Anything you desire can be brought for a hefty price within the Black Market - be it drugs, weapons, or lives.
Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.
Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

He didn't know quite how to feel now that he had more information. It was great to see Sam again. No matter how much time passed or what went on in his life, he knew he would always care about her. For a while, she was the one that got away, the one he thought he was waiting on. Seems he just needed a nudge in the right direction to find Amelia, but his heart would never forget how it felt about Sam. Still, she was carrying someone else's child now and he couldn't be more happy for her. He wanted her to be happy more than anything and seems she had found what she was looking for. She seemed settled, satisfied with life. He could only hope motherhood brought all that and more to her. He knew how challenging it could be to bring a fae child all the way to term but he had to wonder if the child was full fae. Sam had relations with a Were in her past so maybe she was with another species again? Maybe it would be easier on her if it wasn't a full fae child. But when he found out the whole picture, he knew that not to be the facts, after all. It was definitely a full blooded fae, and even royalty, if Sam cared that much about fae culture. Troy and Kit ran from their responsibilities at a young age, at least for immortals. When their mother was ripped from them, they didn't want any part of that life anymore so they left with their dad when he did. It just made sense at the time. Maybe they were just running from their pain, but in the end, it was what brought him here to Sacrosanct so apparently it was meant to be. He couldn't help the teasing look in his eyes when she told him about meeting someone. She looked so happy about whoever they were and he was over the moon for her. She seemed to think he was going in the direction of Dorian, saying he was like a brother and Troy couldn't help but smirk. "Well, that would be heartbreaking for his husband, Sebastian, even if it were the case so I would certainly hope it's not his." He wondered if she'd had a chance to run into her former right-hand since her last visits here. Did she know that Dorian was happily married now, and to a vampire himself? When she brought his hand to her stomach, he couldn't help the flutters in his own stomach. It reminded him a bit of Amelia's pregnancy with Tenley, how he used to feel for her kicks and rolls for hours on end. Knowing it was a fae child in there just felt so magical, almost like he could feel the tiny flutter of wings. She told him she was pretty sure it was a girl and he smiled. "They say fae mothers have a gift when it comes to the gender of their child. My mother was able to guess what we were going to be before we were born, too. Maybe it's the magic in our blood that bonds us and makes that connection strong enough to sense more about the baby." It was all just a guess from him, of course. There wasn't enough concrete research about that. And he was no woman to know firsthand through pregnancy. He only remembered what his mother told him. He smiled wider when she said the baby was healthy. "That's great, Sam. I hope you have all the support you need for the little one when it gets here. If you ever need anything, you know where to find me." That was when the real curve ball came. She told him about Kit and he was dumbfounded. Sure, he knew that he hadn't exactly shown her a picture of the guy but didn't Kit mention anything about him when they met? Maybe his own name never came in. Sounds like they were busy with other things anyway....just the idea of a one night stand in itself was so out of character for Kit. He wasn't the one night stand kind of guy. He had to really care about a girl to get that vulnerable with them. Had he changed that much in all the years apart or did he just really like Sam? Troy should know firsthand, what's not to like? She had an adorable personality that could just draw you in and little quirks to keep you interested. Troy knew she was a real catch, but why did it feel so weird to think about his brother seeing her the same way he did? His shoulders gave a little cringe. Sam was kind enough to let him go through the motions and lay out the beginnings of his hurt. He knew most of it was unnecessary. Of course she wouldn't have known who it was, but did the link only just now come up? He had to know what else Kit had been up in his great absence. Why did he leave? Did he find their dad? When she reached out to touch his arm, he tensed up a little this time but he didn't pull away. Slowly he turned his gaze back up to her, earnestly wanting to believe she had a good reason. She told him the obvious first, that she didn't know his brother's name. Guess it made sense that Kit wouldn't introduce himself by first and last name for some kind of connection to click. She went to tell him when they first met. His eyes widened a bit in surprise. Only a few days apart? So they were both in Sacrosanct at the same time. How did they not come across each other? Shouldn't Troy have felt some kind of vibe in the air that a family member was close? In that moment, he was more disappointed in himself than anything. She said Kit told her he was looking for someone and a brow arched up in question. Why was Kit looking for someone? Was he trying to crawl back and beg for forgiveness for leaving in the first place? She said they spent the day together then left. Troy had to wonder if "this" happened then, but she wasn't done. She went on to say they met again in California and he was following a lead on his brother. Troy couldn't help but snort. "I haven't been to Cali in years. Man, his tracking skills have gotten terrible." Guess that's why he usually let Troy do most of the tracking when they hunted together. She said they spent the day and the night together and that's when "that" happened, apparently. It was making more sense to Troy now. So Kit met her twice and hung out with her practically all day. He knew his brother well enough to know he probably talked poor Sam's ear off with all kinds of polite conversation. He was always a talker once you got him going. Just had to be about the right subjects. And he probably really let down his guard and got to know Sam, something he was always good at. Kit was always the more vulnerable one when it came to guarding one's emotions. But the time spent together meant Kit got to connect with her and feel things, so that explained why he would get intimate with her. He must really like her. Troy couldn't help but wonder how he felt about having a kid. Probably scared as hell, but Troy always figured he would be the father before Troy was cause he was the more emotionally available one. Guess Troy showed him. Just wait till he found out about Amelia and Tenley. Sam said she found out she was pregnant after they parted ways again in California and she came back here to find him. Troy's chest constricted, remembering what all this meant. Kit was here, in Sacrosanct. They would actually get to see each other again. But what would he feel? What would he say? Kit abandoned him, just like their father did. She mentioned they were talking about the unborn child when the connection was finally made. She mentioned wings and that apparently alerted Kit. He rolled his eyes. "Of course, he would remember the wings. He used to always tease me about pulling them off if I annoyed him one more time." She said it hadn't been long since she found out, and he felt the tension in his shoulders easing as he searched her genuine expression. Of course, she was telling the truth. She had no reason to lie. She said that only happened weeks ago. In her current condition, he knew he couldn't have expected her to come rushing off to find him. She had someone else to think about now. She said they were looking for places for the baby and he couldn't help but picture Kit cradle shopping. It was enough to bring another small smirk to his lips. She told him she wanted to reunite them and how special Kit was to her. Her voice trailed off but he was pretty sure what she was going to say. His eyes widened for a second before he cleared his throat. "Wow, can't say I saw that one coming....but I have to say, if there's ever someone I know you would be safe and happy with.....it would be him." Despite what he did to Troy, he had to believe that Kit would never abandon Sam like that, especially not with his child. She asked him not to hate her and he let out his breath before he smiled at her. "I could never hate you, Sam. I get it. I didn't know all the facts. I just...I don't know how to feel about possibly seeing my brother again, after what he did..." He scowled as he looked down, looking truly vulnerable for a moment. He recalled clearly the confusion of waking up to find Kit no longer in the hotel room with him. He remembered searching all around the hotel and the town, thinking he'd just gone out to get breakfast or something. He tried his phone countless times and never got an answer. He tried to track him and came up cold. If he'd gone through all the trouble to get away....why come back to Sacrosanct and tell someone he was looking for his brother? Troy was so confused. Had the guilt finally caught up to him or was there more to the story? |
