West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

GO AHEAD AND PLAY DEAD

Life is Good.

At least, as good as life gets for a lone wolf. I'd finally gotten matters settled with the shop in the warehouse district. Paperwork's been signed, title in hand, and now I had a crew working diligently to get all the necessary adjustments made to the building.

New signs bearing branded the formidable fortress 'Devil's Den Armory', with security cameras being placed and shelves being stocked by the truck load with ammunition and firearms as well as hand-held weapons. One side room was being fitted with large mats, punching bags and dummies for combat training. The upstairs had six smaller rooms being furnished into living quarters complete with bathrooms and kitchenettes, and the razor-wire lot outback had a brand spanking new shooting range- complete with short and long range targets- gleaming in the sunlight.

Yep. Life was Fuckin' Awesome.

The last full moon proved quite fruitful, and I had a chance to spend more time with Tobias and Raven. Tobi was turning out to be a fantastic asset and I was compelled to believe that making that business arrangement with him on the sidewalk had been one of the best decisions I ever made. A man couldn't ask for a better guard, and in return I planned to see to it the young leopard never went hungry or with clothes and a roof over his head.

It was a brilliant partnership.

Raven, his much more shy compatriot, was also a welcomed face within the Armory. The poor girl was like a beaen pup, given to cower and flee and the marks of abuse upon her heart were as clear to me as if the bruises and welts still lingered upon her skin. Whatever pack she'd been apart of had done a piss-poor job of caring for the girl.

My Alpha instincts dictate I correct this serious error in the young woman's upbringing. She had acted very introverted during the Full Moon, but I could tell it had been more then just modesty that had kept her from howling out her song to the night. I have heard of packs that did not allow their omegas such a priviledge. I found it repulsive myself, and had made a mental note to seek her out and have a little talk with her.

Perhaps she was not Pack, but my role as a natural born leader compelled me to take such action. And so long as she resided under my roof she was also under my protection. And perhaps in time, who knows? It wouldn't be so hard for her to transition into pack-hood should it come to that point.

After seeing that the workers are on task, I wait around the front of the shop about the time I know Raven usually comes and goes. When she appears, an easy smile materializes on my lips, intense gaze meeting her own evenly but not in a domineering fashion.

"Raven, I've been waiting for you to show up. I was wondering if you'd like to come with me to get a cup of coffee?"

I ask, gesturing towards the small cafe I knew to be located about 4 blocks south.

"There are a couple of things I'd like to talk to you about... if you have the time that is."
