East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

The Macedonian King could hardly forget the scene that replayed across the forefront of his mind as they climbed the staircase of his loft. He remember with such intensity how her skin felt under his fingertips. He remembered the nervousness that filled every inch of her frame as his lips trailed down her stomach to much lower places. He remembered what it felt like to have her satin skin against his and now there seemed to be but oceans between them. He stood facing her with his body leaned against the kitchen's island, the entirety of his attention steadfast upon the girl as his eyebrows furrowed. With the distance between them, he scarcely had an idea of the thoughts that plagued her head. Instead, the Dark Hunter was only aware of the hesitance that still marked her frame as her gaze seemed to travel anywhere but his actual features. A small frown crossed his features as he finally inquired of her welfare, entirely unexpected the way in which her face finally turned upwards towards him. His own blue-green eyes watched diligently as the woman stepped forward, letting her fingertips brush against his cheek, her words insisting she was but the thoughts that accompanied them at that simple contact of flesh left him....uncertain.

Those lingering thoughts he was given but a momentary glimpse within was enough only to further provoke his concern though he scarcely had a moment to glean any valuable information before Alexis stepped away from him once again. He watched as her gaze dropped away from him, her voice finally inquiring for the real reason she had ventured here within the first place: the job he'd once provided her. The inquiry brought a small frown to the man's lips as his gaze left her, his eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly in thought. He could hardly deny that he needed the assistance, and yet, he had hoped she might come back for more than just the money he was able to provide her with. A soft puff of air left his nose - after all, most of the women within his life loved him for what he was able to provide them. A country, a title, money, lands, reputation. How love encompassed so many things. It was, after all, how ancient life worked, he certainly held no illusions of that. He accepted it all because they were want he wanted and in return he offered them what they too desired. Why should Alexis be any different? Courting, after all, had hardly changed much at all over the centuries - and the female in front of him was very much a woman he desired.

The Dark Hunter stepped away from the counter he leaned against, closing the distance between the two. He reached up to place his fingers under her chin, forcing her head and thus, hopefully too, her gaze upwards towards him. "And what of us?" Alexander inquired, his voice decidedly soft. He was, as he always did, providing her with a choice, his own morals when it came to women far too ingrained.
The simple fact of the matter was that regardless of the answer to his own question, Alexander still cared for the were-creature greatly enough that even if she denied him, he would still offer her the world. He still wanted to see her safe and cared for, even if it was just a job as a barista. The man leaned down closer to her as he continued to speak till his face was but inches from hers, "Where do you want us to go from here, Alexis? Should I just forget the way you taste? Do you want me to forget that for one night, you were mine?"
