East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

My Own Form Of CHAOS

Got to love the trash that gets dragged into places like this. I don't know what it is but tonight, I'm just not feeling it, any of it. The drinks being poured are going down like water and the women gyrating all over the floor are barely batting an eye. Usually I'm chatting up a girl or two by this time, getting them nice and glassy eyed so we can just walk on out of here and head to my place where the real fun begins. Where the blood starts to pour like rain and we dance and party our socks off till the sun comes up. Then I send them on their way with no recollection of how they got the bite marks on their flesh and why they feel the after effects of a vicious hangover. See? I'm not all bad vampire. I tend to let my prey live more than die. It's just the ones that fight that make me lose my temper sometimes.

Like the girl who won't quit eye fucking me from across the bar. I swear I couldn't drink enough Tequila to make her look good enough to eat and now's not any better. Yet she won't quit looking at me and every time I even glance in that direction, she seems to take it as a cue to lick her lips or suck on her finger like I'm going to just waltz on over and make all her dreams come true. Well, sorry, honey, but I have standards. Instead I just try to keep my eyes to my glass, now empty, I might add. The bartender's pretty busy this time of night, running back and forth with twenty people putting in an order at once at any one time. I almost feel sorry for him. Almost.

Instead I maneuver away from the bar, ready to call it a night and get home before the sun comes up. Sure, it's pretty early for me but I can always find something fun to do...like clean house or something. Who am I kidding? I'll be bored as hell but at least I'll have my dignity, which is far more than that unibrow wearing woman who now has the balls to get up and walk over as I'm looking for the door. She taps my shoulder and I turn my head away, trying to make it very clear that I'm not interested but apparently she's not taking the bait.

"Hey....you hungry?"

I glance back at her, just a minute, just to make sure I heard her right. Turns out I did cause now she's leaning over to pull up her short red dress just enough to reveal two little pin pricks on her inner thigh. My eyes moves back up to her features. She has that lost look, the look of an addict begging for one more fix, the look of a sewer rat right before it digests something it probably shouldn't. I hate sewer rats. I make a scoff sound and turn away.

"Sorry, not interested."

Of course, she has to be a persistant little tramp. She grabs for my arm....bad mistake.

"You know you are, vampire."

And she doesn't even lower her voice...another mistake. I jerk my arm free before she can finish that last word, bringing my hand up right under her chin. My fingers grip right around her jugular, tightening just enough to make her inhale sharply as she notices it's getting hard to breathe. I move closer to her so it doesn't cause a scene, sure that anyone who looks at us will just think I'm getting ready to kiss her or something else awkward enough to make someone turn away. My eyes bore into hers as I say each word very carefully and slowly.

"Leave now and never come back. Forget you ever saw me and beg the next vampire you meet to drain you till you're dry."

I release her and she stares at me for a minute more, blinking a few times as if readjusting her eyes to the light. Running her hands through her hair, she looks off as if lost and turns to wander toward the door. I can't help but smirk, already picturing her future demise. Stupid blood bags. They seem to be gaining in number and stupidity. Shaking my head, I make my way out of the club and head in the opposite direction. The moon is full and bright tonight and the city is alive. People wander in one's and two's up and down the sidewalks. Apparently, no one has a home to go to anymore. I keep walking, determined to get home myself but then a familiar smell has me pause.

I turn and look across the street and at first I can't believe my eyes. The scent is there, but it's slightly...off somehow. Yet I can just make out her scarlet red hair in the overhead street lamp. Could it really be the girl from the concert? Then I notice something else, a guy stirring in the shadows. I can't make out what he's saying just yet but I know he's talking to her. Instantly, I find myself moving across the street, not pausing till I'm beside her.

"She doesn't want what you're selling, old man. Now move along before you find someone who is hungry."

My eyes darken intentionally, giving him just enough of a taste of my power to have him doubting what he's doing. That should send him on his way. Meanwhile I turn my eyes to the girl beside me, offering a small smirk.

"You always like meeting weirdos at night or was that just on your calender for tonight?"

My voice is teasing as I keep half my attention on the guy in case he gets other ideas. Meanwhile my other half is fully on her, hoping she at least remembers the guy who bought her a hotdog.
