The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I'm more alive than I've ever been
He is love and fear combined, an amalgamation of terror for the unknown and the deepest, fiercest longing that has ever laid its sting to the delicate and stilled gem of Isolt's heart. She hungered for her companion in every way in which it was possible to do so: she was ravenous for the feel of his body, the scent of his flesh, the thrill of the dark glances he lavished her with; and greater still was her desire for his heart, his acceptance. Though he had sought (and did still) to establish his love for her in the tumultuous stead of his disappearance, the young woman could not deny a rather robust measure of fear for the "what ifs" and "could have beens" that played as a constant horror film upon the stage of her mind's eye. It is, perhaps, because she loves him so completely that Isolt fears the breadth of the unknowable; she had, voluntarily or not, placed within his hands the entirety of her tender self and with it a veritable manual of where it might be that he could destroy her most effectively.
Thankfully, it is moments such as these that soothe the nagging anxiety which ails her. Moments in which she can see the love he bears for her in his actions and in his eyes. It was a gloriously beautiful sight, truly, and one of which she would never grow tired. A simper pulls at her angelic features once again as he toasts, thrilled and confounded by the idea of the eternity that spans unending before them. "You'll always have me, Damon," she assures him before raising her own wine glass. "To us and whatever the future may hold." The wine is a pleasant addition despite its noted lack of potency given the lifelessness of the present pair enjoying it, and so Isolt moves on to fare tailored moreso to their vampiric desires. Selecting what appears to be a small, bite-sized blood pastry, the flame-crowned vampire extends the treat to her companion's lips for his taking, sliding one of her own fingers across her tongue after she does so to relish in the crimson delight of its filling. "You really know how to spoil a lady."
She stills for a moment, seeming to consider something before raising her cerulean eyes to meet those of her companion once more. "I have some, well... I think it's good news," she sputters, though it is difficult to surmise precisely what the source of her hesitation might have been. "I've been corresponding with a chairman from the university where I graduated and they... they're allowing me to finish my final year of residency. Apparently there are quite a few other vampires in the program who do their residency at night, low-key of course, but... Damon, I could finally start practicing medicine again. I don't have to give it up." A breathless sigh escapes her then, needless breath hitched as her brows furrow in anticipation of her partner's reaction.
