The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Arlo James
See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch
His tongue moves to part his lips, licking the last remanets of blood from them as he hoists himself up and onto that roof. Arlo determined not to waste a single drop of his hard earned meal as he takes off across those rooftops, his shoes skidding on those uneven, wet surfaces and yet with his veins so filled with that blood his senses were in veritable overdrive. He could hear someone else in that alleyway he'd left behind, his senses picking up readily on her own species, his lip upturned in disdain and yet she wouldn't follow him. They never did. Not when he left a kill so easy behind. He'd done her job for her and she'd ruined his meal. Typical. His pace slows to a lazy jog and at last to a walk, the man glad for that hood as it kept the rain at bay, his footfall soft across those tiled roofs before he paused, a sudden shout of 'what the fuck' seeing his head jerk backwards to find that Hunter standing upon the edge of opposite roof. His azure blue eyes picking out her form even in the gloom. Christ! She had followed him. Something hurtling through the darkness sees his gaze narrow once more, Arlo dodging to the side in the last possible moment as a wooden stake collided solidly with the tiles of the roof, his eyes resting upon it silently for several seconds. Was she...hunting him? A hiss of sorts rises from within his throat, his lip curling back to expose one fang before he lifts his foot, slamming it down hard enough to snap that stake in half and send the pieces scattering onto the road below lest she make some attempt to, somehow, retrieve it. What little of his features could be seen turned towards her then, meeting her gaze for barely a moment for he pivots once more, taking off again across the roof tops. It would hardly take her long to work out how to cross that gap and when she did he had no intention of seeing any of her other weapons. Arlo the coward. Arlo the vulture. They were right to call him that.
This however, is a part of town he hasn't been to before. He doesn't know it. Not well. The vampire leaping easily to the next roof top, heading for those shadows and that darker part of town, away from the lights- only to find himself faced with the solid concrete wall of a much taller building and a veritable dead end. The surface was flat, smooth, offering him nothing to grab onto and nowhere to go save the way he came. The Hunter girl surely couldn't be too far behind, Arlo so hurriedly weighing his options. He could simply run back the way he had come. His veins so filled with life would surely see him outrun her and yet if she was waiting, hiding, if she had a long range weapon, something to shoot from a distance he might yet find himself taken down by a veritable snipers bullet. Fuck this. One hand runs through that shaggy, near black hair beneath his hood, the man pacing momentarily atop those wet roof tiles. There was nothing he could even throw his web over and hoist himself up too, his fangs biting painfully into his upper lip in those moments of indecision. He was wasting time, standing here, the sudden crunch of approaching footsteps assuring him he'd run out of it all the same.
There was nowhere to hide, barely any shadows, Arlo turning now to face the way he'd come- knowing well that woman was bound to walk around that corner any moment, his hands pressing back against that cold, wet concrete, features till wholly obscured by that hood as he caught her scent on the breeze, bracing himself for some oncoming attack. Maybe he could get around her still, he needed a second, an opening-that was all- those bright blue eyes already searching for another escape like a wild animal that had been cornered by a poacher. He wasn't a fighter, standing his ground hardly within his nature. This wasn't his space, his territory, he had no interest in harming her but that hardly meant she might offer him the same. Arlo baring his fangs within the shadows all the same as if this alone might ward her away. His baritone voice ringing out at last.
"I left you something to kill, what? It's wasn't enough? Just fuck off! I let that girl go."
